A hired BMP to take some professional shots of my sister’s Hollywood themed bridal shower. The most important factors for me were finding a vendor that offered a low price, and had flexibility to shoot for only two hours over MLK weekend. I found Ben and BMP through Unilocal — they were very responsive, helpful, and worked with me on price so I could stay within my budget. On the day of the event, one of their artists, Genevieve, arrived at the venue and took some time setting up her camera and asked me if I wanted any specific shots. She did exactly what I envisioned and was a true delight to work with. If I’m ever in need for budget-​friendly, beautiful, creative photos, I know where to go!

I’ve worked with BMP the past few years and they’ve only gotten better with age! From start to finish, they listened to my ideas and made them come to life. Ben and his team are the real deal and my go-​to for great, quality video!

The entire team at BMP does fantastic work, they are professional, creative and really fun to work with. We have worked with Emily (who covers every detail), Ben on filming and producing and several shooters including Jack and Josh, who we worked with most recently on a shoot in the Gold Coast. From behind the scenes to the final product, BMP puts together an unparalleled production experience and always takes care of it’s crew and clients. We’ve had the opportunity to do makeup with the BMP team for several years and look forward to continuing to work together. Their sister company, Leap Weddings also does great bridal work and we highly recommend them to our brides where Stephanie will take care of every detail.

BMP recently executed a wonderful ski/​snowboard editorial for us. We were very happy with the final product and would work with them again. Ben and his team were professional, timely, and fun to work with. When an outside vendor was unable to deliver on a deadline, Ben pivoted and found someone else in his network to attack the issue and the problem was solved. I really appreciated his accountability in this case. Ben was clear in his communications and there were virtually no surprises along the way. Thanks BMP!

These guys are the best! I work for the university of Chicago and we use BMP to film all of our conferences. We get to work with the same two guys each time and they are phenomenal. They are complete professionals and always deliver top quality footage. I couldn’t imagine using anyone else for our videos than these guys.

I flew to Chicago to shoot a few spots for a startup and needed to hire a video crew. Being from LA, I wasn’t familiar with the companies out there so choosing any company was a total shot in the dark. I had a few days to hire a crew and I called around to several businesses and individual professionals… I found the town was busy, and the options were limited. Most people I talked to, was a mix between fielding a lot of strange questions and negotiating what I could expect with the limited budget I was working with… nothing that filled me with a lot of confidence. I’m generally skeptical of negotiating with someone I’ve never worked with and can’t assess the experience/​quality of what it is that I’m negotiating. Moreover, as someone who works in film and tv in Los Angeles, I wanted some certainty that the quality in Chicago would be the same as what I was familiar with my network back in LA.
I was running out of time, when a good friend recommended Ben Mahoney’s company. From the minute I talked to Ben, he immediately put me at ease. He listened to my specific production needs and worked with me on the budget to find a solution. He could not have been more accommodating at what I considered to be the 11^th hour! He definitely understood the type of shoot we were doing and the logistics of the space and sent his crew supplied with what he though would work for the shoot. I couldn’t have been happier with his crew. His guys came ready, experienced and worked perfectly in sync with each other. I had a great experience! Now if I could get them to come out to LA…

The BMP crew is extremely professional! We needed a video crew for a high level initiative that was happening in the next 24 hours. Ben responded quickly and was able to execute what we needed. They are extremely fun to work with and produce quality work. I am looking forward to the next event we have so I can hire them again.

We met Ben while he was on vacation in Hawaii. He took some amazing promotional photos for our company Knockerball Hawaii. The pictures were taken at a beach park and Ben was able to capture the fun of the day and the product. He found the perfect lighting and angles to really showcase the Knockerballs. He even took a really cute picture of our two squirmy young sons that i love! I would highly recommend BMP!!!

Ben and Josh are excellent. I have had the pleasure of working with Ben over the course of a few years now on a few different projects and he and his staff always bring the top shelf quality and professionalism. Josh takes the time to communicate with you to distill what you really need and want from your project. I really appreciated his patience with me through out the duration of the project. BMP is the best of the best when it comes to Video/​Film Production. I’ve been colleagues with them for years so I know they are just great guys (and gals). Simply a great team of dedicated and TALENTED people. Everyone from Ben to Steph to Jack to A-​aron are just really great to work with.
I’ve recently had them do some shoots for my company and everything from setting up the shoot to the final product was flawless. Totally flexible and accommodating with my crazy schedule. I simply gave them my vision and they nailed it!
In this industry, there are far too many people who are in it to ‘make a buck’. And it’s truly refreshing knowing a crew like BMP who truly has a passion for what they do. These are guys are legit.

I was fortunate enough to have met with Ben while he was on vacation in Hawaii over the holidays. My family and I booked him for a nice little family shoot in a nearby park and beach location. Ben was great. My 3.5 year old was not being very cooperative and Ben was wonderful. He was patient and had great ideas on how to get his attention. He also took pictures at all different angles and locations. When we received our pictures later they were great. I can’t wait to frame them.

I was lucky enough to find these guys for my wedding so when the opportunity to use them to make a commercial for a small business I work with came up I knew they had to do it! The potentially intimidating process was a breeze! The whole team is super professional to work with but also the kind of people you want to hang out with and have a beer. We didn’t have a huge budget and they worked with us in getting everything set up right from the get go. We worked with an awesome production company that they suggested and were thrilled with them as well. They even gave us some extra fun footage after everything was over to use on social media just for fun. Hopefully in the future when these commercials get old we will have some money saved for another round and can do it all over again.

²⁴⁄₇ City Secrets — A 30 minute lifestyle program airing on NBC5 Chicago — interviewed several production companies to produce a special Switzerland show. Luckily, we decided on BMP for our Production Team… and it was the best decision we could have made!
The crew members were punctual, creative, and worked well under pressure. Ben also worked within our price range and was extra accommodating. BMP displayed a true sense of professionalism with an artistic edge which made a FANTASTIC work environment abroad.

WONDERFUL videographers! Very friendly, personable, and GREAT work. Easy to work with.

After scouring Unilocal for an affordable videographer to document our company’s random, «Giant Check Delivery» video, we decided to go with Ben. Not only was Ben awesome to work with, but he is fun… like, really reeeally fun. Him and Aaron picked me up from my hotel, and even had all the supplies I needed for the video (i.e. giant check, confetti, balloons, long story…). I thought the whole project was going to be boring and awkward, but it was actually one of my favorite experiences, ever. Him and Aaron were beyond professional, but definitely took the time to laugh with me over all 1,000 bloopers. Not only was the final product beyond my company’s expectations, (we were seriously in awe, I was my boss’ favorite employee for like a week because of it) but Ben and Aaron even put together a blooper reel purely for our own enjoyment. We’ve all watched it at least 6 times… per day.
I’ve been peer pressuring both Ben and Aaron to stay in touch and become REAL friends with me ever since. I think it might be working.
I challenge anyone to find a more awesome and affordable videographer than both Ben and Aaron.

Disclaimer: I didn’t use Ben Mahoney Productions for my wedding even though I wanted to. Unfortunately, we were a little last minute in our planning and Ben and crew were booked.
That said, when calling BMP, I was greeted with one of the most helpful individuals I have encountered in this frustrating wedding planning process. Even though they weren’t available for our wedding, the gentleman on the phone was quick to help, offering great alternatives for other videographers for our wedding.
It was only at the end of the call that I realized I was speaking with Ben himself. Awesome awesome awesome guy. I wish we could have booked sooner!
