The Circle Salon

I went to Circle Salon for the first time this past Saturday. I was going to a friend’s wedding later that day so I wanted a blow out cuz I am incapable of doing that myself. Jessie was my stylist and she did an amazing job! I didn’t give her much direction besides not wanting it stick straight and having curls at the end.
The whole experience was good from beginning to end. I liked the separated area for washing hair. I was in heaven when she gave me a head massage. I’m not much of a talker when I get my hair done because I just enjoy zoning out and relaxing and she got that so that was great. She went above and beyond what she needed to to make my hair look good and I really appreciated it! Everyone who saw me after thought my hair looked great and I’m so glad I checked out Circle Salon and got Jessie!
The Unilocal discount is also a great benefit as well. I’d go back for sure!

I went there for the first time and had a great experience. Probably the best hair cut I’ve gotten. The staff was all super friendly and welcoming and my stylist, Rita, was meticulous with the hair cut and the end result is evident of that. Thank you for a great experience! I look forward to coming back.

Such a wonderful salon! I go mainly to get my eyebrows done and the staff are so friendly and accommodating, I always leave having a pleasant experience. Crystal is AMAZING at eyebrows and I can’t say enough wonderful things about her and the place itself!

I went to the salon last weekend and was my first time, Alexa cut my hair and was gorgeous!!! I get so many compliments about it! I’ll go again for sure! And my boyfriend is going too later this week! Highly recommended!

I can’t say enough good things about Circle Salon. Jamie Bushman, the owner, has created a great atmosphere, and I love how well everybody works together. Each customer is greeted with tea and cookies, and the salon runs a good on-​time schedule. They also do great hair! I always leave happy.

I would like to let you know that I have been to soo many upscale Salons than yours, I have been to salons in Beverly Hills in California. If you know what it means. That’s where I got the Brazilian hair treatment, and I spent over 500 $ or more; therefore, you can see in my review history, I was extremely happy with the service and the Superb treatment. I was so glad that I chose that salon for my Brazilian treatment. (You may go back to my review history and see it, and learn something from them, so you can enhance your salon). However, for me paying you and your salon is nothing for me. I appreciate everyone work Bc we all work hard. But what your hair stylist did to me was totally unacceptable.
I wrote the review so you and your staff can learn how to be more respectful and more generous to their clients. But it is clever to me how you are blaming me (who is a customer), instead of correcting yours and your staff mistake. You should know better.
Now, Coming toward my problem with your hair stylist, she is the one who snagged off my earing off my ear. I never did that to myself. So please get it right. You really need to think before you speak or write about your clients. Top of that, your calling me a liar, and using words like falsified, or schemes on your previous clients; how pathetic that is for you to say such things like that. This is scary to me. Now, it is clear for me and for other people to see how angry and offensive you get toward your customers.
Calling them names.
No need to worry, I will writing to our county district court, better business bureau (BBB) and ofcourse Unilocal to remove your business from online and take back your license. You clearly have no right to be in salon business until you learn how to comb clients hair without wounding them.
You should no longer be in business at all. Especially, after writing such cruel words to your previous Client.
By the way, just for your knowledge, I never asked for anything complimentary or anything like that, I paid the full price, your stylist asked me for it.

So everyone, I’ve realized I have a type. No. not a boy type (well that too), but in this case I’m talking about my hair stylist type. Is it just coincidence that Frankie looks similar to my old favorite stylist in Houston? I think not. When it comes to my stylists, I think I’m just into a particular kind of guy — that super friendly, wish we were friends in real life, once long hair, now short hair (or no hair) wearing facial hair adorned male. And let me tell you ladies, this type has never failed me, and neither has Frankie.
I originally found The Circle Salon via Groupon after a year and a half of living in Chicago and getting hair cuts each time I went back to Houston (which my hair will tell you was not often enough). I finally made the plunge and tried out The Circle Salon and couldn’t be happier. The salon is beautiful, the stylists and Jodi (the salon manager) are incredibly nice and fun to talk to, and each and every time I leave loving my hair. And sometimes a little bit tips.
Frankie (my stylist) is amazing. He sits down with me before my cut or treatment and really listens to what I want — even when I said I wanted to cut off about 8 inches of hair. He takes his time and meticulously cuts my hair while we share our new favorite restaurants and stories about our recent vacations. The length always turns out exactly the way I want it and the layers fall perfectly. Frankie definitely knows what he’s doing and is great at it. I always leave really happy with my cut and style. And even when I was a tad unhappy once, I called the salon soon after my cut and Frankie welcomed me back with open arms to give me exactly what I wanted. It’s that sense of caring and wanting to make the client happy that I love about him and this salon.

I stopped going to this place because of their lousy business practices, even though I loved my stylist, Rita.
During the eighteen months or so that I was a regular, monthly client, Circle Salon called me the day of an appointment to reschedule six or seven times. If my stylist had a cancellation, they would call to tell me to come in at the time of the cancelled appointment, and if I already had plans and couldn’t do it, then I would have to wait upwards of 20 minutes when I came in for my original appointment because the stylist would be accommodating walk-​ins. Clearly, their priority was to make sure that their chairs were full at all times and they did not care about respecting the time of their regular clients.
The final straw was the last time they rescheduled me. When they called me to come in earlier, I left work and raced down to the salon to get there at the new time they had requested, only to be told, «Never mind. Someone else came in and we don’t need you right now after all.» WTF??? So I came back at my original time, again racing there from work, arrived on time, but had been bumped, again, for a walk-​in. After waiting 20 minutes, I left and will never go back. There are plenty of good salons who don’t treat their regular clients like cattle.

Great salon, love the atmosphere. Highly recommend going to see Alexa! She did a wonderful cut and color! Prices are reasonable and location is great!

Frankie is excellent ! Highly recommend him Been going here for about a year and really happy with it. The service is really friendly and they have beer and cookies.

Update: I was contacted by the owner shortly after my original review. She is amazing! Very sincere and apologetic and went above and beyond to make this situation right. And she did! I came back to the salon after speaking with her because she promised me that I would be in great hands with a different stylist. I was introduced to Mo for my partial highlights and I couldn’t be happier with her. She explained to me that the picture I showed her of what I wanted, was obtainable, but just not in one session. I really appreciated this because it means that she is honest and not going to over promise something that is not realistic… which makes me trust her. Overall, she is a super sweet and very knowledgeable stylist. My highlights look great, and I know that the next time I see her, she will take the next steps to get my color exactly where I want it to be.

Alexa is so talented! She cut and styled my hair, and I’m really satisfied with both.
THE CUT: I appreciated that Alexa made suggestions about my hair cut, because I never feel sure about what would look good, and I like having a professional weigh in. I also liked that she gave me a cut that suits my styling preferences (I’m willing to style my bangs but not much else). My hair looked great both coming out of the salon AND air dried with no styling after a shower. I also appreciated that Alexa took the time to finesse the haircut when I expressed a concern; she kept working until I felt satisfied with the whole look.
THE STYLE: Alexa’s curls held in my hair for THREE DAYS. This is remarkable, because a blow-​dry bar stylist told me that my hair would never hold curls more than a few hours, due to its texture. Alexa is a curl wizard by contrast; she curled my hair on Friday and it was still bouncy and voluminous on Sunday. I wonder if it’s because she took the extra time to set my curls.
CONCLUSION: I got a haircut with Alexa the day before I got engaged (it doesn’t have to be a surprise to be special!), and all weekend I was so pleased that I did. I didn’t have to worry once about my hair – it looked and felt beautiful.

I was looking for a salon that could manage my mixed race hair for 5 years and knew how to do color. I finally found the place after so many mishaps and hiding my hair in a hat. Frankie knows how to cut and style curls along with knowing how to color them. He helped me transition from «relaxing» my hair to my natural 3B curls. It took time but was worth it. My curls are now growing faster, and stronger. For curls, styling and color i definitely recommend Frankie, and I am long past due for another cut and style.

Great salon. Friendly n cozy, clean environment. Little pricey. But Frankie did great job. Xo

Sooooo… I went back… and I’m so glad that I did!
Everyone was absolutely lovely. Jamie, the owner, personally redid my color and made sure that I was happy. When I first said that they were friendly, I meant it. Everybody who works there are just generally nice people. It makes a difference. You know that they actually care about your experience and it shows. It’s not that fake nice that you get sometimes that’s awkward because you know the person is «just doing their job.» These folks are actually nice.
I went back before my flight back home to Cali and she completely accommodated her schedule to fit me in. She even stayed late to get it done. This woman is awesome! We chatted for a bit, laughed, shared stories and she made me feel completely welcome the whole time. I walked out feeling like I made a new friend. This is truly a labor of love for her and her whole team.
I’m so glad she generously offered to redo my color because it looks great. You know that reaction I was hoping for? Well, I got it when my friend picked me up from the airport: «Wow, what did you do to your hair? It looks great!!!» Nuff said. I officially found my «spot.»

I have insanely difficult hair to work with. It’s curly, wavy, stubborn & all over the place. Moe is literally the ONLY stylist I’ve seen who can tame the wild beast. Her attention to detail, customer preference and friendly attitude makes her a model for the perfect hair stylist.
If you’re looking for a great men’s cut, definitely go with Moe. She’s amazing.
Other than the great service I get whenever I go, everyone at the salon is insanely friendly and the owner, Jamie, is really involved with the neighborhood. A+++ all the way through.

I am what some may consider obsessed with my stylist Terra and the Circle Salon. I have been a loyal guest here for the last three years, in that time I have received so many compliments on my hair cuts and hair color that I carry on me at all times my stylists business card. It is no exaggeration that people literally stop me in the streets and in stores to ask me where I get my hair done.
Terra is amazing, she has not only given me the best cuts of my life, she has had the patience to teach me how to style my hair. Because of her I am now able to use bobby pins, create awesome up-do’s, diffuse curls, use a curling iron and hot rollers-​all of it. I’ve had every hair style imaginable, from classic bobs, to a-​symmetrical long waves the cuts always hold their shape until the very end.
Now I really have to gush about color. As a natural blonde I have always secretly wanted to go red but was just yo nervous to take the plunge. Terra inched me closer and closer never pushing me too hard. Needless to say I am now a red head. The quality of products here are amazing your color will be bright and shiny until the day you go back to re-​color. The level of education is so advanced that during my last visit Terra experimented with all the new techniques she learned.
I honestly can’t say enough about this place, everything from the hospitality to the quality of work is outstanding.

This is a really great business!
I’ve been here twice and had Rita both times. She friendly, funny, and easy to talk to. She also gives me good tips on easy ways to style my hair (I’m a shower and run type of gal). I haven’t been wow-​ed quite yet with my cut — although I’m not exactly adventurous. Honestly, it is still a really good cut (grows out well, looks a trillion times better than where I used to go), but not phenomenal.
Love the atmosphere here, the tea and cookies (those are some seriously yummy cookies — I know this isn’t a restaurant review, but I love the maple ones!), and the price isn’t too bad. Apparently they have a «belt» system, like black belt, yellow belt, white belt, and are priced accordingly.

I’ve suffered a lot from distrust in hair stylist, it seems like everyone always seems to mess up my hair and not meet the same vision I have for my hair. Rita has finally met all my expectations, she’s gone above and beyond. I came in wanting ombré and after having a horrible time at a salon that shall remain nameless Rita was able to restore confidence in my hair.
I got ombré and a hair cut for what was a little pricey but to be quite honest, I don’t regret a single penny of it. I will definitely be back here and asking for who I now consider my new stylist.
Also they give you a beverage, tea, cookie and/​or almonds. I thought it was so cute and wonderfully random.
Another thing about Rita, she paid attention to my needs but not over bearing. I also never felt like I needed to constantly be talking to her, she was honestly great. Thanks so much!
