Julie Dorger grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and has lived in Chicago since 2001. She attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and the University of Cincinnati. Julie’s family has a real estate background. Her father was a builder and her mother was a broker /​agent in the business for over 25 years. Julie is very involved with the condo association in her building. She enjoys travel, reading and spending time with friends.

Sara McCarthy was born in South Bend, Indiana, grew up in Dallas, Texas and graduated from Boston College. Sara is very active in the Boston College Alumni Association. Annually, Sara partners with Boston College in coordinating a winter clothing drive benefiting students from Chicago Public Schools. Sara enjoys art, travel, yoga, zumba, spending time with family and her Wheaten Terrier Emma.

I had to sell my condo within a few months, with a difficult roommate who was leasing out 1 bedroom, during a down economy. I knew this was going to be a tough task. I interviewed about 20 different Chicago real estate agents & settled on The Dorger McCarthy Group. I made the right decision.
They were the only agents who were honest from the beginning, prepared with facts/​figures/​statistics and who I felt were knowledgeable on the market and the area (Lakeview). From beginning to end they worked tirelessly and without complaint. They are punctual, professional, reliable, friendly, SMART, trustworthy, knowledgeable, honest and A JOY TO WORK WITH!!!
They made the selling process as easy & enjoyable as I could have imagined. I look forward to working with them again and HIGHLY recommend their services.

We worked with Sara and Julie this summer to sell our condo in Ravenswood. They were wonderful to work with and everything went totally smoothly from beginning to end. We had never sold a home before and didn’t know what to expect, but they made it really easy. They were always very straightforward, and it was so helpful to be able to rely on their expertise and judgment. Sara went out of her way a couple times, driving downtown to my office to pick up a key that I had forgotten to leave for her and to get some documents signed in the middle of the workday. She was always super responsive, usually answering text messages and emails within minutes. All of the people that she recommended for photos, staging, painting, and legal representation were very professional. There were a couple of bumps in the road… the condo didn’t appraise out at the price that our buyer was willing to pay us, which was obviously very frustrating. Sara walked us through our options, talked to the appraiser, negotiated with the buyer’s agent, and ultimately helped us make a decision about what we should do to close the sale. With lots of my friends stuck with condos they can’t sell, I feel very lucky to have sold mine in about 2 ½ months from listing date to closing date. I would recommend Sara and Julie to anyone and will certainly work with them if I ever decide to buy a home again.

Excellent realtors with tons of information about the Lincoln Park market! Sara and Julie put together a rich packet of information on the local market, as well as a detailed marketing plan, when I was considering selling a Lincoln Park condo. Ultimately, I decided not to sell, but if I had, I would have worked with them in an instant. Very sensitive, informative and not pushy.

A long time ago in a Chicago neighborhood not so far, far away…
My wife and I embarked on a journey to buy our first home with a long list of wants and «must haves» and a limited budget. Early searches were disheartening as the dollar never goes as far as one would like, but Julie and Sara of the Dorger McCarthy Group used their creativity and networking skills to identify a property that fulfilled all items on our wish list. Additionally, they drove a quick and satisfying negotiation, recommended knowledgeable inspectors and attorneys, and delivered superior service and advice until every single one of the closing documents were signed. Without Julie and Sara’s professionalism and market knowledge, we wouldn’t now be living happily in our first condo so we are forever thankful to them.

I just recently became a first time home owner. The decision to buy came upon me quickly and I was referred to Dorger McCarthy Group by a close friend who had also worked with Sarah and Julie to buy her first home. I had the opportunity to work with both Julie and Sarah. They made a very overwhelming process smooth for someone who knew nothing about the buying a home. They were in constant communication with me and I felt that all their feedback and opinions were genuine and in my best interest. They explained every step along the way and then reexplained every time I needed to hear it again. The process of buying was about me and what was best for me. Sara McCarthy and Juiie Dorger are amazing. They sold our condo in less than 2 weeks which is incredible given the market. She is friendly and easy-​going, but also very knowledgeable and professional. When I decided I wanted to buy a condo in Chicago I went to Sara McCarthy for help. I told her «I hear the market is really good right now for buyers. $ 50K is my limit, I’d like to buy Oprah’s home. If she won’t sell then I’ll buy the home next to hers.» It was at this point Sarah introduced me to the other part of the dream team, Julie Dorger. The 2 of them then took turns slapping me around while explaining to me the reality of what I can afford. After we got ALL that cleared up, they helped me find a condo in Streeterville. It only took 2 weeks to find the place I wanted and none of it could have happened without the Dorger McCarthy Group and their extensive knowledge of Chicago real estate. Additionally, they are excellent in communicating, great at negotiating, and incredible at driving and parking. Julie Dorger and Sarah McCarthy are awesome!
