Specialties
Because we believe that all people are created by God and therefore they are special and loved. It is our privilage to have the opportunity to come along beside people when they are in need and to walk with them during their difficult journey. We specialize in our caring model and nonjudgemental attitude. We have all fallen short of God’s plans at some point, but because He was there for us, we want to be there for others. We care!
History
Established in 1865.
In 1865 a Brittish minister and his wife established The Salvation Army as a mission that understood that no person could worry about their soul if they were hungry or homeless. Therefore, the organization must work to eleviate human need, pain and suffering. Soon The Salvation Army’s work spread throughout the world as a unique church whose beliefs were directly from the Bible. The work in Chicago began in the late 1800s. The Salvation Army is known for the high quality of social services offered because they are accountible not to just funders, but to God.
