Design is fun! It might seem overwhelming or daunting to have soo many options and not know where to start; talking through options and understanding why things might or might not work is empowering.

History

Established in 2009.

The workshop design studio was established in 2009 after owner and designer Kaila Kirkpatrick LEED AP, cut her teeth in the internationational and domestic hospitality markets. Opportunities to work on projects in Abu Dhabi, Hong Kong, Dubai as well as local Chicago sites gave her a broad range of experience and a wealth of exposure to products and sourcing.

Wanting to focus the business towards eco friendly small commercial and residential clients, her knowledge of LEED building strategies is an intergral part of how she approaches a project.

Who we are

We have a concierge approach to design services. We fully customize our process and services to the specific needs of each project and client. We offer the comprehensiveness of traditional design services combined with the economics and sensibility of a D.I.Y. «road map». We promote collaboration through many avenues. By empowering our clients with strategies and resources and helping to establish connections to great contractors and vendors we offer long term solution providers. We also try to give the clients that want to tackle certain pieces and parts on their own the tools to be able to do that, as well as the realistic framework involved in the decision making process.
