Best massages in town hands down. Also the best, fastest and most painless waxing ever. Just an all around great place. If your looking for a ladies day– they have a kitchen, beautiful deck and fantastic massage chairs for mani/​pedis too. It’s honestly the best spa around and fair prices. Everyone that I’ve met that works here, from the receptionist to the masseuse peeps, to the waxing professional are so nice and professional. Great place! Can’t stress that enough.

Those of us who really know Chicago realize that you have to get out of Lakeview once and a while, especially when you seek top notch service at a reasonable price.
That is what Thee European spa delivers in terms of massage therapy. Please understand that is truly therapeutic treatment for your muscles. It’s not all that fancy or romantic. If you want fancy head up to Kohler and if you want romance go ask your loved one for a back rub.
I went to Ann about 10 years ago and just recently returned for treatment. Ann and her staff give a deep, vigorous massage. No soft tickle treatment. I was really sore the next day, and I think that’s a good sign.
In terms of a gratuity, I’d suggest a generous 20%. This is a personal service and I think the providers should be rewarded for good work.

I have been a customer at this business for a number of years All the services are wonderful. I am sorry to say I don’t get over there enough. Last week my brother-​in-​law hurt his back. He called me and asked for Ann’s number in hopes that a massage would help him. He came back later to pick my sis up and he looked and felt so much better than he did before the massage. I think he was amazed at Ann’s skill.

Great location, (only 3 blocks from my house!) Clean. Took me on the spot as a walk-​in. Very bright and welcoming coming in. The rooms were well keep. Plan on coming back for a scalp massage and possibly a facial!

This review is way overdue but I’m a busy working mom, which made my experience at Thee European Spa that much more frustrating.
I went for a facial around Christmas time because I had some Spa Finder gift cards and my trusty aesthetician whom I’d been going to for years had moved out of state.
The receptionist was very sweet, which was the only positive. I cannot remember the aesthetician’s name, though I’m not sure she was actually a real aesthetician now that I think about it.
Worst. Facial. Ever. I have finally found a great aesthetician at Essence Medispa, and she and I laugh about this story because it is so bad. I was taken to a room with horrible pink sheets on the bed, though I would have been okay with that. She put the steam on me and left the room. For twenty minutes. I kid you not. I heard her starting a pedicure or something on the other side of the door. When she finally came back, she proceeded to tell me that her favorite part of doing a facial was the extractions. Then she extracted every single particle out of my poor face, massaged it for about 30 seconds, and put this cheap cucumber mask on me. I swear to God it was one of those 99 cent masks in a pouch you can buy at Walgreens. It was sticky and I found pieces of it in my hairline until I showered. Then, SHE LEFT AGAIN. FOR HALF AN HOUR. She was definitely performing another service because I could hear her with another customer.
This was seriously one of the most ridiculous experiences of my life. If I had not had those gift cards and had spent my hard earned money on this joke of a facial, I probably would have lost my cool. I was angry enough that I’d spent my precious «me» time in the pink room waiting for a facial that never came, but I just left quietly. I will never go back. Never.

I just had an amazing sports massage! The spa staff was beyond amazing. They dealt with my husband and my crazy work schedules and we’re absolutely more than willing to accommodate us. My massage therapist was absolutely delightful as well as educated. She knew names of muscles and used her expertise to heal my poor legs! She was absolutely amazing!!! I will FOR SURE be back!!!

I went for a facial and have had much better. More time was spent on the massage of my shoulders and neck then on my face.

I love this place. I have been going here for over 4 years now (maybe longer) and cannot imagine going anywhere else. I love a good massage but always hated going to to those chain type places, they were so impersonal and far from my house. I did my research and found this place within a mile from my house. And I am so glad I did. I have not been anywhere else since. I don’t just go for massages, I also go for waxing, pedicures, facials, and mud wraps. Each experience has been pleasant and personal. As of recently, I have had to go there for scar tissue massages from a recent ankle injury. Not only are they professional, they are personal too. When they heard I broke my ankle, they made sure to check on me and give me well wishes. I have taken a few family members here as well for spa day celebrations for their birthdays, and they have always enjoyed themselves too. They also run a great Bears promotion, if they Bears win, they have $ 50 massges the next day. What a way to get me into the Bears. There are always Mother’s Day promotions as well. And if you want to create your own spa day, they will work with you to create a package for you and your guest to enjoy. I also know some people who have tried other places after trying thee european spa, and they always come back. I highly recommend them.

NOW they are LYING about what happened! I specifically stated EXACTLY what I was told. This;“Ma’aam, I know you are upset, but people are getting massages, and it’s hard to relax.” They have decided to state that my «newborn» (she’s 9 months old) was there and that is why I was told to keep it down. This is a full on LIE! Why is this place still in business?

I love Thee European Spa and will continue to go back, there are still so many services I have yet to try. My past visit included a facial and mani/​pedicure. Both were done by the same woman and she was amazing at both (her name escapes me at the moment). Before starting my facial she asked if I was pregnant or had any allergies, made me more comfortable since I am expecting! She was informative and gave my advice on how to care for my skin especially during pregnancy! The manicure and pedicure were amazing-​my nails look and feel great! I will be back to try the other services especially the prenatal massage! They use OPI products including No Chip OPI products, huge plus!

All I can say is this place is absolutely horrible for massages. Just trust me when I say… pass on this place.

I came here on a Saturday with a last minute booking for a couples massage with my boyfriend and it was a pretty ok experience.
We were looking for something close to home and we found this place. It was $ 140 for both and it seems like a pretty good deal for what you get. The place was very clean, a bit cold though for a massage place. The music was pretty odd, I wouldn’t really say relaxing but more like belly dancing music. It made it a bit hard to relax. My massage therapist was a woman, maybe in 30s? I completely forgot her name, but she was great. She asked about the pressure and asked what I did want and didn’t. So I appreciated that a lot. My boyfriend said his therapist which was a thin blonde young woman was okay but not so great when it came to the legs. He seemed skeptical about it from the beginning so maybe it was just bc he wasn’t comfortable? Not sure. My biggest complain is that the room we were in was downstairs so we could hear LOUD water pipe noises. That pretty much killed any relaxation. It was loud and lasted for maybe a 30sec too long. They do have specials if the bears win, they have massages for $ 50 the following day which is pretty cool. I probably would not come again just because I’ve been to other places, like massage envy and I fall asleep because of how relaxed I am. I’m looking more for that and quietness and warmth in a massage salon/​place. I guess I’d probably go back only if I couldn’t get a booking for massage envy. The extra $ from them is pretty worth it after trying this place out.

The massage was one of the best I have ever received. She knew exactly what to do and where to hit. I asked her her name a few times, but alas I was so relaxed that I forgot before I had a chance to write this review. Camille? Cassandra? Sorry!
The pedicure was not so great — no dryer to speak of so my toes were totally smudged when I got in the car.
The place is super clean and quiet.
The girl at the front desk seemed a little dingy, FYI.

Loved my massage. Had hot stone massage felt great, just enough pressure.
The salon was very clean, professional staff. And they were very accomadating on a last minute appointment. I will definitely be coming again.

The girl that did my nails was friendly, and the salon was clean and nicely decorated, however, my mani/​pedi was horrible. It was so bad that later I went to another nail salon to have a polish change. My nails looked like a 5 year old painted them, and I left with polish all over my skin despite asking multiple times to remove it. She also did not put a top coat on one of my nails and after an hour the nail still wasn’t dry and kept smudging. I requested a refund which they said they would give, but I have yet to receive it (a week later). I wont be returning to this spa.

This place was great. Me and 2 of my friends went in for a spa day. We had a massage, pedicure, facial and eyebrow wax. It was a great day. The staff was very accommodating and nice. The facility is very clean. It wasn’t even that expensive. We will go back for sure!
UPDATE: Since this review, I have been back 5 times. Same excellent service every time!

I am way behind in posting this, as my massage was probably 8 months ago. However, I had a fantastic one last night which reminded me of this not so great experience.
This was, by far, the worst massage I’ve ever received. I asked for deep tissue, I am accustomed to it after years of back issues. The massage I received from Ann quite honestly felt like someone running baseball bats up and down (and side to side) my back, legs, arms and the bottom of my feet. I actually thought she was going to pull my arms out of my sockets. I have never been so uncomfortable and in so much pain after a massage. It took me four days to recover. Normally, about 24 hours after deep tissue, I feel great! But her force way over does her capacity to even find tight muscles. This was the worst money I’ve ever spent on a massage. The facility is nice and the receptionist accommodating. But that’s not what I came for.
I asked her four times to ease up — she said ‘you do not like my technique?’ and I said it was uncomfortable, and that I didn’t care for the constant rubbing up and down directly on my spine. She said ‘you will get used to it!’ Really?

Sam gave an amazing Swedish massage! Loved the warm towels she covered each section with after being massaged and the bonus foot reflexology. Perfect amount of pressure and wonderful attention to neck/​head and face. Aaahhh… totally relaxed. Always love my treatments at this local gem!

Sadly, a friendly receptionist and cute décor did not make up for the fact that this was the worst Brazilian ever :-(

I went there for facial and manicure
Facial was OK, i had better but this one was not bad at all.
But the manicure was horrible. I am not even sure that they dispose all the tools, ive got cut twice and it was kinda painful. So i will not go there for second time.
