We had Johann install a backsplash in 2010 and he did such an excellent job that I asked
him to come back and install another kitchen backsplash for our new condo in 2016. He is reasonable in price, professional, polite, humorous, reliable, and meticulous about his work. He shows up on time and does a wonderful job of cleaning up when he is done. I highly recommend him for any tiling job and I learned he does all types of renovations also. I would not hire anyone else to do the job.

Ahhhh! I can’t say enough great things about Johann and his guys. As other reviews state, his communication was excellent and I received a quote back so quickly. We have been working on our house for a year, so I wasn’t used to such a responsive contractor :). Within a week, I received the quote, scheduled the work, and had the work completed today!
Ours was a little more than putting up a tile backsplash. We had to tear out an existing backsplash, repair the walls and then put up the new one. Johann’s crew was prompt, clean, and completed the job in 3 days! And it’s PERFECT! I’m so so so happy with the results, it’s too hard to express in words how pleased I am with his work! AND… They’re so friendly and personable! A pleasure to have in our home.

Don’t waste your time calling anyone else if you’re reading this. Johann is as great as they come. A true professional, all the way around. I saw Tigele Tiles & Mosaics on Unilocal,read the reviews and knew I found exactly who I was looking for. My search for someone to do a kitchen backsplash started last December and I gave up within a few weeks after wasting my time with two bozos coming over for estimates and then, even trying to use The Home Depot’s network of preferred contractors, which is a complete joke. I’m not talking about some overly thought out backsplash, this is a typical condo kitchen backsplash covering about 35 sq.’ using 2″ x 4″ subway tiles in 12″ x 12″ sections.
For whatever reason, after believing my wife and I let go of the whole backsplash idea a few months back, I found myself on Unilocal last Saturday. I thought «What the heck? Saturday afternoon,… I’ll call anyway.» I left a v.m. and figured I’d hear back from someone on Monday. In less than 10 minutes, I get a call back and explain to Johann what my wife and I are looking for and then I ask «When can I expect an estimate from you?» and his reply was: «As soon as you send me some photos:)» I text three photos of our kitchen and a follow up email with my address and contact information minutes after we hang up and exactly 10 minutes later I’ve got a legitimate proposal emailed to me, including his business info., which I needed for our condo property management, should we choose to move forward. The estimate was almost identical in cost to the prior few I received earlier, minus the bozos and all their scheduling b.s.
I was sold on the communication and the way that Johann runs his business… and of course the countless 5 Star Unilocal reviews. In less than an hour, on a Saturday, we’ve squared up that as soon as my wife returns in the evening, I’ll share all the info. and get back to him. When I asked about an estimated start date, he tells me it’ll most likely be about 10 days out. The wife gets home, I share the great news of the backsplash idea we let go of a few months back:) and the unbelievable, almost effortless proposal (because of Johann’s professionalism) we just got via text photo/​email. A reply is sent to Johann stating the wife is on board, I go to The Home Depot the following morning to pick up my tiles, and by Wednesday night (four days from my initial call) my wife walks in from work and is in love with her new kitchen backsplash.
Johann’s craftsmanship and work ethic is easily as equal, if not better, than his professionalism in handling business from the business managing end. A true artist with attention to detail and also extremely organized. He kept his work area and staging clean and to a minimum and minimized as the project proceeded. He is truly a great human being with tons of wisdom.

Paul and Johan did a great job I will be using them again. They pointed out all the mistakes the builder made which caused loose tiles and leaks. Paul built a new sloped floor and tiled the walls. He extended the knee wall height to insert a recessed shelf as well. Johan had custom slabs made for the top of the knee wall and step. They may be more expensive than others but you get what you pay for and I got a shower I never have to worry about leaks.

Johann did our kitchen backsplash and I could not recommend him enough! Meticulous with his work, he is both a perfectionist and an artist. His prices are reasonable (I sought additional quotes) and his work is outstanding. Do yourself a favor and hire Johann!

We wanted to pick out and buy the tile ourselves, which he was perfectly fine with. After scheduling the installation, Johann promptly completed the job on schedule. The job looks amazing — the backsplash really adds a new element to the kitchen and makes it look like new.

Johann is a professional, expert craftsman who brought my dream kitchen backsplash to life! I reached out and he promptly called me back, and provided a thorough estimate via email, with all of his licensing/​insurance info attached. We communicated on a Friday and he came that Sunday, it couldn’t be better! When he arrived, he had all of the proper tools (my material was Carrara marble) and and approached the project carefully, professionally and delicately. It required very exacting precision and cuts and I couldn’t be happier. I recommend him fully!

I emailed Johann about our kitchen backsplash and he was able to get an estimate to me within 24 hours based off the images I provided. I really appreciated his responsiveness and the attention to detail he included with his estimate (a copy of his license and insurance were sent without prompting!). The prices are fair — not the lowest or the highest of all the quotes we collected and work he did looks great. I would definitely recommend him.

I emailed Johann about having a backsplash installed in my kitchen. He asked for photos and measurements of the space where the backsplash would be installed. He immediately got back to me with a quote and the supplies that I would need after providing that information. My backsplash was installed flawlessly within a week. I couldn’t be happier with his work and professionalism.

I contacted Johann to remove the cracked white plastic shower pan in my guest shower. I wanted a porcelain tile floor to be installed instead. Johann suggested partial removal of lower level of porcelain tile on the walls to access the shower pan. He also suggested building a step using granite. I purchased shower floor tiles, but couldn’t find a match for the existing wall tile. Johann went to several stores and found a good matching wall tile. He also suggested installing a frameless glass shower door instead of reusing the old door. I’m extremely pleased with the updated look of my shower stall. Johann and his crew did a great job. I highly recommend Johann for his professionalism and workmanship.

My master shower needed tile repair and Johann came out to see my space and completed the job all within a few days. The shower looks amazing and I could not be more pleased with the work that was completed. Highly recommend!

I contacted Johann about a month prior, and scheduled a date for him to come and install a backsplash in my small (condo) kitchen. We exchanged e-​mails, I sent him pictures, and signed a PDF estimate. I went and bought the tile myself at a local tile place. On day of, Johann arrived around 10:30am, and we quickly uncovered my idiot mistake. I completely did not see that I was responsible for providing BOTH tile and grout. He was unphased, and said he would lay all of the tile, and run to get it. He also offered to reseal my granite countertops, and took a few bucks off the normal cost. After about 2 hours of tile work, he left the tile to dry and went to get the grout. Approximately two hours later, he returned with the grout, and finished up at. around 5pm. He gave me some care instructions, I paid, and that was it. Definitely happy with the end result. It looks better than I thought it would, and I appreciate the detail that Johann paid. He did a great job, and some of the more challenging corners and areas of my kitchen look flawless.

Johann gave us a competitive bid for tile cleaning, grout repair, and caulking needed in several bathrooms in out home and our kitchen. He always arrived when he said he would and worked diligently with his assistant, Mathilda, the entire time they were here. He is very knowledgable about tiles and stone. I knew I was in capable hands. When needed I will be calling Johann again for this type of work. Highly recommended!

We needed serious help with mold removal in our tub. He came in and not only removed all the mold but removed some excessive grout and caulk, re-​did it and sealed it. He was professional, finished the work in one day and now the tub and bathroom sink look great. Our tenant will appreciate it and we plan to ask him back in the spring to fix the grout around our bathroom and kitchen tile flooring.

I am a perfectionist and can be a challenging client when spending a nice chunk of money. Luckily, johann is also very precise with his work. He cleaned, grouted, caulked, and sealed my shower very nicely. I am very pleased with the overall result.

Highly recommended without reservation. Had two estimates for some caulking and tile cleaning. Not only did Johann come out the same day that I called, he was knowledgeable and had competitive pricing. He did the work himself, was efficient, clean, and his quality was top notch.

Johann and his team did a great job on our backsplash in the kitchen. He even supplied the grout which was SUPER helpful. The only reason why I didn’t give five stars is that there were a a few things that he had to come back and re-​do or correct, but I gave four stars because he came back without a problem and fixed them right away. We just had Johann and his team grout, caulk, and seal three of our bathrooms. They had been poorly done by the original builder and completely neglected by the previous owner. Tigele did a very thorough, high quality job. They spent a fair amount of time doing the work properly, and we now feel like we have new bathrooms. The price was reasonable given the amount of work required and the finished product.
We would definitely recommend Tigele Tile to anyone.

We recently contacted Johann to repair a «shoddy» job done by a different contractor.
We had redone our walk-​in shower only 2yrs ago. We noticed cracks in our grout and water began to seep behind existing tiles.
Thanks to Johann and his step by step suggestions we were able to reconstruct our shower and are extremely happy.
His workmanship is by far noticeable. We were also able to save $$$ compared to other quotes we received.
