Lately, I’ve been feeling as if there has been a major lack of color in my life so I decided to hit up Twisted Scissors for a purple/​magenta ombré. I have never been nor heard of Twisted Scissors but based off positive reviews and fun work I saw on social media I decided to check the joint out. I’m so glad I did! Justina was a major sweetheart and made sure to ask the right questions in order to truly achieve what I envisioned for my hair. I’m so so happy with the end result! I’ll definitely find my way to Twisted Scissors again!

Heather was awesome! She took the time to really try and understand what I wanted from my hair, talking about my face shape, my lifestyle, and what I liked and didn’t like about past hair cuts. I’ve had my new hairdo for about two weeks now and am loving it! I’ve received a ton of compliments on a hair cut that I thought would stand out to me more than anyone else, so she really did work some magic.
Overall they are very professional, reasonably priced, with a super fun atmosphere. I’ll be back for sure!

Heather did an awesome job! I had been going from salon to salon and no one could get the color I wanted. Found this salon and scheduled an appointment with heather. I was a little worried that I would be wasting money and not getting what I wanted as I had done in the past over and over again! Heather and I had a consultation before starting and she listened to everything I said… the haircut and color is AMAZING!!! I finally love my hair for once and will not be going anywhere else!

I am in desperate need of a haircut and had heard great things about this place so I booked an appointment for 7:00 pm tonight. I arrived at 6:55 and was greeted and offered a drink – so far, so good. After I took a seat the receptionist came over and asked a guy in the waiting area if he’d checked in. He said yes and that he had a 6:30 appointment. I thought, yikes, poor guy, he’s been waiting awhile. Well, 30 minutes later I was in the same boat. The receptionist came over and asked if I’d checked in, even though she was the one who had checked me in. Then she walked off without saying anything else. I asked the other girl at the counter if she knew when my stylist would be ready for me and she said the receptionist had gone to check. She came back a few minutes later and told me it was still going to be «awhile.» (It was 7:40 by this point.) She asked again if I wanted anything to drink, but I told her no thanks, I have to go. (I did have somewhere to be and didn’t want to keep waiting with no idea how much longer it would be.) I liked the atmosphere and everyone seemed really nice, and I’m guessing this was a scheduling fail anomaly, but I won’t be back.

One word is enough to describe this place; AMAZING!
My haircut was on a Monday evening, and after driving in rain and looking for parking I was not so sure I made a right decision. That all changed the second I walked into Twisted Scissors.
The front room is incredible with the art, the products and candy jar with a doll head inside. And let’s not forget they serve wine and beer!!!
My appointment was with Coleen (sorry if I misspelled your name) and I couldn’t be happier! I have very short hair and she cut my hair exactly as I have envisioned it! I get so many compliments on it!
Aside from her being an artist in life and with scissors, she is very nice to talk to and very down to earth!
If you are looking for your next hair place you will not regret giving T.S. a chance.

The atmosphere in Twisted Scissors is like a well-​lit hipster bar where instead of one bartender, you have 7 or 8, and they all have scissors. I love my hairstylist, Joy; she pulls a mean blow-​out and does a great job. My only criticism is that sometimes, we talk TOO much, and something comes out uneven. Luckily, she’s always been super willing to have me back in to work things out. Can’t complain!

I had a great experience at this salon. I was greeted warmly when I arrived and there are plenty of comfy couches in the waiting area. My color appointment was with Drina, and I wanted my horrible grown out balayage corrected. I pretty much let her suggest what to do and still gave my input. We agreed on a dark brown all over color with dark purple ends. She was very attentive and diligent in applying the color and it turned out wonderfully.
The salon itself is cool, eclectic and surprisingly large (as it looks small from the outside). I think as a customer you get a good quality service for the price point. This was also my first visit but I will definitely be returning!

I booked an appointment here with such high expectations, only to be disappointed. When I showed up for my appointment I was told Colleen would be my hair stylist. I explained to her that I had been bleaching my hair for over a year and would like a light/​medium grey color. The one thing I emphasized was it could NOT be blue or green. I explained to her that I have always had strong healthy hair so I figured this would be an easy color job.
While she was bleaching my hair I saw a large chunk of hair fall to the ground (I’m talking AT LEAST 20 hairs in one cluster). When I asked her in fear, «Is that my hair?!» She acted shocked and said no and quickly kicked it under the chair. This is when the fear started to set in. After washing and toning my hair it ended up DARK BLUE/​GREEN. Thats when I really started to panic. While she was drying it she kept saying to me that I had to be VERY CAREFUL when styling it. Uhhhh ok? But as she kept drying it… I noticed more and more that it was NOT silver. Every girl that worked at the salon swore up and down it was silver (except the girl at the desk who said it looked blue/​green when I asked her leaving when no one else was around). They offered to do a clarifying treatment to wash some of it out (I was on the verge of tears) but was also told if I didn’t want to do that I could go home and wash it myself and it would wash out.
AND THEN THIS HAPPENED… I went home and started washing it. The soap washing down the drain was a navy color. I scrubbed and scrubbed and then my hair started to FALL OUT IN CHUNKS!!! I got out of the shower nervous and went to brush it and more fell out… and wouldn’t stop. Cue full blown panic mode. I call the salon crying and they tell me to come in and get an Olaplaex treatment on them (umm why would I EVER trust this salon to touch my hair again?!) No thanks. That’s all that they offered me at first, until I demanded my money back.
Thankfully I found a salon the next day who fixed my hair the best that they could. I now have to part my hair on the other side of my head because of all the missing hair and cannot put any heat products on it until the new year (because it will fall out). Every time I wash it more and more falls out (this is 2 weeks later). I paid $ 320 to have it fixed… and Twisted Scissors told me that was my own responsibility to pay. Umm I had to pay DOUBLE to fix what you guys did wrong?!? YOU BURNT OFF MY HAIR! Save your time and money and don’t go here. Worst mistake I’ve ever made.

When more then a year I came first time to die my hair to Spooky I got exactly color I wanted!!!
And since then I’m still crazy about my red hair!
And still getting compliments all the time from random people, and every time from my friends!
Also hair products they use makes the color so VIBRANT and vivid, everybody loves it!
Unfortunately my fav Spooky moved to other country, but great thing Twisted scissors save each client’s formula!
So I still get my color done right even if it’s done by the other master!
Last week I went to Bethany! And she was really awesome too!

My hair was damaged and was severely abused from box dying my hair. I went in and the lady was very sweet. She told me she would make me pretty, and she did. My hair is now very healthy and the color is how I wanted it. Not only are they very nice and welcoming, but they treat you like you’re family there! They offer you something to drink and make you feel very comfortable. I love how cool it looks and how clean they keep their stations. Unlike some hair salons, where you walk in and see hair on the floor from before, this place is nothing like that. I will be coming back to get my hair colored/​cut from this place. Love it!

These girls know there stuff. I would trust any of them to cut my rug. Great friendly atmosphere. Beer, water, wine. Solid cut what else does one need.

Justina was friendly, understood what I wanted and gave me a better haircut than I knew how to describe. I went in at my appointment time and got to see the stylist right away, she listened to exactly what I wanted. She used olaplex and my hair felt a lot healthier than when I walked in.

If you want a great facial Sunshine is your girl. One of the best facial’s I’ve ever gotten!
For a great haircut all the stylists are awesome. I’ve gone to Anna one of the owners & she does a great job as do all the other gals. Great prices. Wish it was closer to my house but the hike is totally worth it.

Took my 14 year old granddaughter here today as a special treat before she returned home to Texas after a two week vacation here. She has very long wavy dark brown hair and wanted not only some colors but what is referred to as a «color melt» which kind of looks like a box of crayons melted on top of her head and cascaded down. Pretty ambitious, pretty costly and in this grandma’s way of thinking pretty bizarre. Got a few estimates from local places like Hair Cuttery which ran around $ 250 and up for about two hours but not all the colors she wanted which were a lot. Found website for Twisted Scissors and went in to get info. Receptionist said would run minimum $ 160 to $ 280 depending on colors, hair length and texture. Indulgent grandma that I am we made an appt for 11 today. Her stylist was Mallory who spent just under 4 hours using just about every color of the rainbow some of which were not too noticeable since her hair color is dark but end result was she got exactly what she had wanted and cost was $ 215 which seemed very reasonable. Thanks Mallory for a job well done and making my little Rainbow Brite a happy traveler.

This place is so much fun and they do great work. I have been seeing Spooky for many years and I won’t go anywhere else for a cut. I am in my fifties, and everyplace else I have been they want to make me look like… well, I’m in my fifties. Spooky will do my hair conservative when I need it, but she also sees my inner punk rocker. While she is doing my cut and color, I love to watch the other stylists transform the woman or man they are working on. I have never seen a bad style go out of the place. I get compliments on my hair every time I go.

I’ve been going to Amber for years and always loved what she does. This time Amber was out of town, and I have more freedom in hairstyle due to a change in employment. As soon as I met Alise I knew j could trust her judgement, so I gave her a little guidance on what’s worked for me in the past and let her creativity take it away. I LOVE my cut & color!!! It’s so different from what I’ve done before, but totally matches my personality/​style. If I could give TS & Alise 10 stars, I would!

It’s been almost 6 months since I had my hair done here. Still can’t go back to my original blonde since this salon ruined it. They worked with me to pay me back half of what I paid for services, but having my original color back that took me years to get to is really what I wanted. Now I am forced to go back to my dark color because of the process that they did on my hair. No one can fix what they ruined. 3 years of color treatment and money down the drain because someone did not know what they were doing. Super upsetting and traumatizing.
Do not go here!

I met with Justina this afternoon to take my virgin brown hair to a nifty purpley/​gray mix. I brought in a couple pictures for reference. Pretty nervous with such a big change…
She talked me through every step, gave me her opinions (all of which were spot on!) and made me feel at ease throughout it all.
Always made sure I had a drink, was comfortable, etc.
I love my hair and will definitely continue visiting Justina for touchups and new do’s in the future. Love her!!!
VERY reasonably priced for the quality of the job done/​time spent.

I’ve been going to Twisted Scissors for several years now and I will continue to do so regardless of what neighborhood I move to.
It is rare to find a stylist that can actually trim my bangs to my liking. Spooky does my hair and she always does a perfect job. Never too much off, never too little. She’s patient with me and trims my hairs to my liking each and every time. I always walk out extremely happy.
For reference, my hair is super super thick and I like to keep it long. It gets weird if it’s cut the wrong way and I despise when stylists try to thin it out. The stylists here really listen!

Tiffany has done a great job with my curly hair. This is my fourth hair dresser in the city, and so far, I hope I have a keeper.

Spooky is the best! First went to her after getting a disaster haircut in the suburbs, she fixed it right up and has given me great cuts ever since! Super friendly, very encouraging, and make sure she knows exactly what you want so there are no mistakes. Her cuts grow out really great, too, which I feel like not every hair stylist can do. My partner also goes to her and his cuts always look great and grow out perfectly.
I went to Devin once for a bang trim before my sister’s wedding and she was great too! Gave me EXACTLY what I wanted.

Twisted Scissors is awesome. I’ve had my hair cut by two different people, both of whom were creative, followed direction really well, and clearly communicated with me about my hair. I love the products the salon uses as well.
Their esthetician also is really friendly and does a great job. Love having this salon in the neighborhood!

I’ve been coming here for about a year on and off… Off because I left here twice with less than stellar results. However, since this place is just down the street from my house I decided to give it one more try and I’m so glad I did! I got a pixie cut recently by spooky and I’m absolutely in love! She listened to what I wanted and offered great suggestions. I will definitely be back to see spooky

Five+ years later and I’ve moved out of state, but because I make it back into town to see friends often enough, this is still the only place I go to get my hair done.
Still always go to Dakota — she’s fantastic ! Can’t say enough good things about this salon.
