I would highly recommend this place. I brought in my water damaged Iphone and in 30 minutes I walked out with a completely working phone. The guy that I dealt with, Robert, was kind and extremely helpful. Now I just need to keep my phone out of water!

I had a great experience here! They checked my Wii U unit within 4 days after dropping it off at store, and then called me to discuss the problem. They were able to fix the unit and it cost half the $ Nintendo wanted (not including shipping the unit to/​from Nintendo). I was very pleased and would definitely recommend them to anyone for repairs for game systems!

Have taken my iPhone here twice already. Awesome (friendly) staff, clean space, reasonable rates for the work they do. However, the only reason they don’t get the full five stars is because both times I got my iPhone back fixed but with minor mistakes. The first (on my iPhone 5) the home button was able to move around (the little design on it was sometimes a square sometimes a diamond), on my iPhone 6 when the screen was put back on it wasn’t pressed all the way so now it feels «clicky». These mistakes aren’t earth shattering but still a little annoying.
UbreakIfix does have warranty so I’m sure they would’ve fixed it if I had the time to go back again, but it’s still better for the more busy people nowadays to have things done right the first time. Regardless, I do recommend them. Go there if you need any phone repairs, just make sure to double check the work thoroughly before leaving!

SOMETHING HAS GONE SERIOUSLY WRONG AT THIS PLACE SINCE MY ORIGINAL REVIEW.
In short: brought my phone in for a simple repair. They fried it. Then (probably knowingly) gave me an obviously defective phone as a replacement, and refused to admit it is defective. Along they way they did not keep commitments, gave me the run around, and kept me without the use of my phone for weeks. I would never use this place again, there are plenty of other places that repair phones. Unless you are willing to risk having this happen to you, AVOID AT ALL COSTS. AVOID AVOID AVOID.
The longer version:
I brought my phone with a broken screen to this location. They replaced the screen and gave it back to me. When they handed it back to me it would not turn on, which they told me was because it needed to be charged. When I got it home I discovered it would not take a charge and when I brought it back, they looked at it and concluded that their technician had actually ruined the phone and that they would replace it. They told me they would call me when they had a replacement.
That would’ve been fine. But what really happened was:
* They never called, I had to finally call them to see what was going on.
* They gave me a phone of the same model and told me that it was ‘brand new’ even though they did not give me the manual, charger, etc. that would come with a new phone.
* The phone they gave me clearly suffers from well-​known problems that some phones of this type have: camera light sensor does not function properly so picture quality is terrible.
* A related problem is that phone auto shut off function (for when you stick it in your pocket) is
triggered by same light sensor issue. So the phone turns itself off unless it is opened in very bright light.
* The phone I brought them did not suffer from either of these problems.
* I demonstrated the problems to them. First they told me that it had to do with the phone case, then they told me that they swapped several camera parts in and out of the phone and couldn’t make a difference. Then they told me that there was nothing wrong with the phone.
* Repeatedly told me that they couldn’t help me until they spoke to their «District Manager» who they would NOT put me in contact with. A silly ploy ripped from the pages of used car sales, which should give you a pretty good sense of the ethics of this place.
Again: AVOID AVOID AVOID

This place is super honest. I took my phone in and they offered to take a look before replacing anything. The battery was depleting in a matter of minutes. They warned me that it may be a motherboard issue and replacing the battery may not do the trick. I told them to go ahead and replace the battery anyways. Also, they were closing in 35 minutes and didn’t give me any sort of run around about closing soon. I even asked and they said it wasn’t an issue. I visited a nearby coffee shop and when I came back, lucky for me, they had reinstalled the battery and it worked! Yay! They also upsold me on a glass screen that has protected my actual glass screen. It has saved my screen, so I’ll be going back to get that replaced. That only takes about two minutes and costs $ 40? 50? Not much in comparision to another iPhone screen.

I can’t even with this place. I cracked my screen. It was fine for a while. But then the display started to go. Then it was unresponsive. I bought a repair credit for UBreakifFix, but didnt really expect that they would be able to help. I took my phone in, and they fixed it while I waited. Granted, I waited for about an hour, hour and a half. But, they fixed it. Brilliant. Will definitely go back.

I love this place. I called to see what could be done about the charger jack. They diagnosed the problem over the phone and told me how to fix it. No charge. No trip to the store. Great way to do business.

Consider going here first before getting ripped off by your phone company!

I would like to give negative review to ubreak because of customer service. I booked an appointment from their website for fixing a water damage of my HTC mobile. When I get at ubreak north cl office, a guy on reception said he sent an email saying they can’t fix my cell, I was thinking may be I forgot to check my emails, I came back and searched a inbox and junk folder and found no email saying same. This is really a unprofessional and makes me sad for seeing this kind of customer service. I won’t recommend anyone for going to this place.

Excellent service and quick turnaround! Cracked my iPhone 5s screen which rendered it inoperable. Brought it in on a Sunday at 11am when they opened. It was ready in a half hour and scored a Unilocal deal they had running. My phone came back to life and all was right with the world. These guys are consummate professionals!

I set an appointment to have my shattered iPhone screen replaced. After receiving a confirmation email, I also received an email asking if it was a white or black iPhone. Not seeing the email until the morning of my appt I responded and showed for my appt. when I arrived they didn’t seem to have my appt in the system and then told me that they could not repair it. They then went on to tell me that I didn’t respond to the email inquiring about the color of the iPhone quickly enough and THAT is why the part was not held for me.
Seeing that they could have called me BEFORE I came in for my appointment but didn’t I feel that that care very little about their customers.
Also, I then went and walked in the Jet Device repair and had my phone fixed immediately. They also informed me that the COLOR of the phone didn’t matter so long as they had the screen for generation/​model in stock. Which I also called and confirmed with my phone carrier. Basically, U break it I fix it screwed up and then blamed me.

3:40pm– dropped my iPhone on my desk and the screen completely shattered. 3:45pm– called uBreakiFix who said they could fix it same day. 5:00pm– dropped off phone with very nice gentleman. 5:35pm– picked up my iPhone. Crisis averted! Yes, it’s pricey ($ 100), but so are these phones that we have all enjoy using.

While ubreakifix was not able to fix my iPhone, it was still a good experience and I wouldn’t give them lesser starts because of it. It’s not their fault that my phone ended up in my puppy’s water bowl and no amount of rice could save it.
This shop has really nice people working there, they are open late for those of us who work, and were able to do a diagnostic faster than the 48 hour time frame they gave me. It costs $ 0 for a diagnostic if they can’t provide a solution, which is better than other companies in Chicago who charge $ 29.99 to just look at the phone.
Hopefully I won’t have to come back here, however if my new 6S ends up in water again, I would definitely use this company.

I’m so thoroughly unimpressed with this store.
I came in for a screen replacement on my phone. They didn’t put the screen on correctly. So I return and drop my phone off. 3 days later they call to say that they need to fix the battery, and that’s their reason why the screen wasn’t on right
After the battery was «replaced» they call me in. I travel all the way back to this store, just so they could tell me they didn’t check to see if the new battery worked. And lone behold, the new battery didn’t work. So now I’m waiting ANOTHER week to get my phone back
This has been a long and painful process that wouldn’t have happened if the workers had done their job correctly and hadn’t have called and lied to me about my phone being «ready for pickup»
I’m angry. I’ve wasted so much time traveling and have had my phone there for way too long
I will NEVER bring another phone here. Ever.

I thought I was going to have to buy a whole new phone but john hooked me up and within minutes I was out the door. Happy customer.

I just walked out of Ubreakifix. And I’m typing this on my phone. An hour ago, I was convinced I wouldn’t have a phone. Apparently, the sound of panic is the sound you hear when your phone takes a dive and slaps screen down onto a concrete floor. My poor iphone was completely spiderweb shattered. After first calling my provider and being told the only way I would be able to fix this would be to pay $ 700+, this place was my second call. They told me to come right in, and I just beat a weekend rush because it was all fixed within about 40 minutes. It’s seriously like it never happened. I will say that I was lucky, as a rush did roll in while I was waiting, but the miracle workers employed there upped the estimate time and offered next day pickups with courtesy and professionalism.
An hour after something happened that I have literally had nightmares about, it was fixed. That’s insane! My only regret was that I wish I called this place first. I could have saved myself a little bit of stress.

So, two days after I write the review, I get a call from corporate. I spoke to Jill, who was nice, polite and sympathetic. She forwarded me to the location in the South Loop, where they replaced my front panel and display. They then told me even that might not stick because its probable that the body frame of my phone was damaged in the last repair, and I’ll need a really good phone case to hold it together. When I told this to Jill, she sent a Otterbox Defender case to me through the mail. The phone looks good and is better now, but all this could have been avoided in the first place. I’m adding two stars to the review for the extraordinary service I was offered by Jill. Thanks a lot.

I have never written a bad Unilocal review before, but I am so disappointed with this place that I felt i needed to tell others.
My experience with this store was always good. I never had too many problems. However, this time around… It was horrible. Absolutely nothing went well.
I dropped my iPad off because the LED light had become unplugged. The iPad would turn on, but it wouldn’t light up. When I dropped it off they told me one week max, to give me a diagnosis. I thought that was a little long, especially because I told them what the problem was. But I agreed to the wait time and submitted the iPad to them for a diagnosis.
After a week, I never got a call to tell me that it had been diagnosed. I called and they said to give them a couple more days, and they would call me by the end of the following business day. The told me that the technician was currently working on my iPad, and that he didn’t know what the diagnosis was yet but would let me know very soon. I agreed to wait longer.
The time came and when again. No call. I called a THIRD time. I was told they had never got to my iPad and hadn’t had a chance to diagnose it. I stated that I was told a couple days earlier, that the technician was working on it. They didn’t have an explanation for that and simply said «well we haven’t gotten to it yet. We’re understaffed». I said «well how much more time do you need?» They said 3 more days. I agreed to wait longer… Again.
Three days later… No call. I called again, they said they STILL hadn’t had a chance to look at it. I stated that I’d just come pick it up and to forget about diagnosing it, I’ll be taking it somewhere else.
When I went to pick it up there was a woman in front of me dropping her device off for repair. I couldn’t help but notice that they said they would have it fixed within an hour. I thought «An hour?! I’ve been waiting 2 weeks just for a diagnosis. An hour?!»
I got my iPad back after two weeks of them doing absolutely nothing. They were dismissive in their willingness to understand my frustration and did NOTHING to accommodate me, despite false quote times and false promises to contact me.
This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with a company. I’ll never go back.
