Staff is lazy and rude. Never clean and expensive. Go elsewhere.

After three years I had to cancel my membership since I was moving out of state, I went in a month in advance and was informed my membership had been cancelled. On the last day of the month, before I moved I asked to confirm it was cancelled and apparently it never was. Manager informed me since they have no record of my initial cancel she can’t refund. Untrained staff not doing their job properly and I have to pay for it. Very disappointed

I was originally told when I called in that my membership was canceled. May have been the new guy that was working at the location, but apparently he gave me wrong information.
8 months later, charges are flowing into my account. I called today, after I noticed the charge on the 3^rd and because it’s 9 days later, I will «unavoidably» be charged again on September 3^rd because it wasn’t within 5 days of the new month.
Needless to say, their customer service, or lack thereof, and «corporate policies» are AWFUL. Certified letter by mail is required and they won’t let you cancel over the phone. Much of their staff is very pushy and snobby and many of them don’t know what they’re talking about when it comes to billing cycles etc.
As for product– prices very marked up and the beds always have a bulb or two out.
Got rid of their customer service number probably because way too many people are complaining.

Very displeased with not only the unknowledgeable staff, but also the end result of the spray tan, and finally the complete management team all the way up to the district level.
I payed for the Groupon and figured I’d give the spray tan a try. Without goin into extreme details, I asked the lady on staff questions to ensure I wouldn’t hate the end result and trying to make sure I’d do anything there was to be done correctly, so I wouldn’t be discolored or splotchy or whatever else I may have heard as horror stories going into spray tanning… Long story short I came out with a very horrible finished product.
If I could rate them with negative stars I’d be marking them down for –5 Stars.
So after letting it set in a couple days and hoping that something would change or maybe I was over reacting… I called the store and complained, they did nothing I called back a few more times until I finally got a manager… Just to be told there’s nothing they can do. I wasn’t trying to be difficult or anything. I was just simply explaining the facts of what had happened and requesting if I could have my remaining spray tans as reg uv tanning bed tans because that was such an awful experience… I would never do it again and didn’t want to lose my money. The groupon was whatever price for either 5spray tans or 10uv tans. All I asked is that I can maybe get 8 UV tans since the way it reads out it seems as if for every one spray tan is the equivalent of 2 UV tans. So since I used one spray tan and absolutely hated it, could I either get a partial refund or use the rest of my spray tans as uv tans instead. Seemed to be like an easy way to please your customer, still be fair with your business, and the kicker… Not lose nor spend anymore money…
Instead I get told by two different managers on two different occasions that the district manager will be into contact with me very shortly and there’s nothing they can do until he approves anything.
Anywho long story short, don’t recommend the spray tans… Don’t listen to the staff… If you have questions research it on your own or google it or ask around somewhere else cause they have no idea what they are talking about apparently. Lastly don’t ever expect an issue to get resolved… Seems the district level is so incredibly busy they still have yet to get back to me and this issue started at the beginning of June. Take it for what it is… I used to be a customer of theirs a couple years back and now have no desire to ever go there again.
Horrible horrible customer service.

Lets keep this short and sweet:
1) I want 1 month of tanning. I tell this to the salesgirl. I purchase a more expensive membership than the standard membership, allowing me to «cancel at any time.»
2) I tan for 20 days. Ask surly salesgirl when I need to cancel by so my card isn’t charged again. She tells me I need to cancel by the first.
3) The 30^th rolls around, I call to cancel. They tell me I can’t cancel over the phone. I drag myself in to the store an hour later and tell them I want to cancel.
4) I cancel my membership, but am told that I will be charged for the month of July because I failed to cancel by June 5^th, which was a few days after I purchased the membership. I stare blankly ahead in disbelief. Clearly, this information was not disclosed to me at any point in time.
5) The girl sitting next to me says the same thing happened to her. She does not look happy.
6) I tell the guilty-​looking salesgirl that I am upset, because I was told if I cancelled by the first I would not be charged for July. She shrugs and says she doesn’t make the rules, and that this is the (unspoken) policy. I ask for her manager’s number.
7) She politely tells me that she isn’t allowed to give it out. I tell her I am not surprised, and go grab my pitchfork.

Worst place ever!
They have a deal going on with Groupon for $ 35.00. (Gold level) However, what they call Gold Level is the worst tanning bed they have, meaning it will bring the same result as when you go to the beach on a raining day! If you want to use a better bed to achieve at least a result, you will have to pay $ 50.00 more. The place is not clean and the manager a complete inexperienced and rude person. Will never return and will not recommend this place to anyone.

Got a spray tan for the first time. Guy was not educated on the process, told me to face certain ways in the wrong order so my back was sprayed when my side should have been. I got the «clear level 2», so I couldn’t see the results until the next morning. There are spots all over the palms of my hands and on the insides of my arms. I called today to complain and ask if there was anything I could do to get rid of the spots and the girl claimed that she had NEVER heard of someone getting spots from the «clear» spray tan. Ya, I must be some sort of anomaly. Don’t go here, wish i didn’t still have 4 tans left on my groupon.

This place just doesn’t do anything for me. Each time I come here I cross my fingers hoping for a better experience… maybe this time the staff will be more friendly or the place won’t smell… or the rooms won’t feel unclean. To be honest, I’m disappointed every time. I just truly feel that this location doesn’t go above and beyond to make a customer’s experience at all a pleasant one… and it just seems as they truly don’t care. If they were invested in their business, I feel like they would invest more money into their décor, rooms, or facilities. When I come for a spray tan I want to feel like it’s a «spa experience» and that’s definitely not the feeling I get at Ultimate Exposure. I pretty much just want to get out of there as soon as I can.

I usually switch up the tanning salons that i go to based on deals, however, the male behind the counter at ultimate exposure convinced me to buy a membership at this location. I have come across plenty of employees at other salons who are uneducated or untrained and it makes it difficult to tan and choose the correct beds/​products. Fortunately, this salon seems to have their stuff together…
The guy’s knowledge for the beds, lotion, and deals is amazing! He is always extremely helpful with any questions that I have. Rarely do I give into an upsell, but his knowledge on tanning has sold me on several items. He’s approachable and very friendly. Every time I go in, whether it’s day or night, he is in a good mood and willing to help with whatever it is. I’m easy to please, but he goes above and beyond with customer service/​satisfaction which is why I continue to tan at this salon and purchased the tanning membership…

went in late on a Thursday and john was super helpful setting me up with the spray tanning and answered my questions. The groupon deal is great, place is clean and fast

BUYER BEWARE: this company has no appreciation for their customers. they no longer have a Guest Services Dept which just goes show where their priorities are. their prices are really high. go to LA tan its a much better company with locations everywhere, better spray tan beds, better rates, nicer employees and not so sneaky with their billing practices…

This place should change their name to «Ultimate Joke» their so called «district manager» JULIE should be fired… the amount of unprofessionalism I received from her was absurd. She literally hung up the phone on me… you call this the service industry? I called to dispute a fee I was charged that was not my fault… they can’t do anything for me and I have been a loyal member paying $ 50 a month for the past 8 years… pretty sad how they treat their customers. I belong to the Naperville location and i am extremely disappointed. The result of my experience is that my mom, sister and I will all be canceling our bronze club memberships. If you have an issue and belong to this salon good luck actually hearing from any form of management. I had to ask 4 times to get a call from someone. And JULIE cannot give out any contact information on her so called «supervisor» ERICA. Oh and the corporate office line will give you some BS message saying they no longer have guest services… joining LA TAN as I speak. I can’t even rate this company with any stars.

I would highly suggest to anyone on this page that needs to cancel to make sure they read the small print. I cancelled my contract before moving and six months later was charged a full service payment. I called thinking it was some kind of mistake– they told me that i signed a freeze and not the cancelation and would not work with me on refunding the payment they took from my account. They said over the phone «i should have read the small print». Clearly not only did the girl behind the counter know that i was signing a freeze, but the company condones that kind of activity. They said my money would not be refunded and that it was my fault. When asking for a manager– the woman on the phone said that her boss is the manager — she will not be available– BUYER BEWARE — L A tan never pulled this with me.

Unprofessional and extremely unintelligent staff with no ethics. I had to call management multiple times to deal with rude people, but little is done in the end. Overpriced. Wish I read the other Unilocal reviews first.

Nice place, most of the people are very friendly. A few are just kinda «there» but that’s the worst.
I’ve always found it to be very clean. They update things regularly enough as well.

Since I’m divulging all of my beauty secrets lately…
Versa Spray tan… the only solution you need to buck that pasty palor and wear those short shorts and minis. I don’t have time for endless jaunts in the sun (I wish!) nor is it very healthy (I wish!). Higher end airbrush tans are great, and especially wonderful for special occasions when you need THE BEST, but just for regular old «I need to look alive!» spray tanning, head to Ultimate Exposure Tanning Centers.
This one happened to be my favored of the two near me (Western location, blech… always broken, snotty staff). It has easy/​free parking, is right near the 6 corners and they have two Versa spray tan machines.
Of course, you’ll get the nonchalant barely-​post-​teen customer service treatment, but here I found it less annoying, maybe more chalant.
$ 10 on Sundays! That’s all you need to know right there.
I also purchased a 3-​pack for times when Sundays wouldn’t do…3 for about $ 60. These are good at any Ultimate location. They always have specials so check it out. Also, they give you between $ 10-​$ 20 credit when you refer a friend… so like, tell ‘em I sent you, aight? PM me for details.
A few tips:
*exfoliate and shave (at least a day before) you go.
*DO NOT get waxed right after or right before. (learned the hard way)
*wear loose darker clothing and sandals if possible.
*if you’re pale like me, the Bronze Level 1 is perfect (they have clear 1 – 3, bronze 1 – 3) for just day-​to-​day «oh hey I got some sun» color. If you are headed for Mexico, try 2 – 3.
*don’t shower/​sweat for 4 hours+. I’d really say overnight, if possible.
*lasts a good 5 – 7 days.
The instructions in the booth are easy peasy. It’s basically like a car wash tan. Make sure to pay careful attention to applying the barrier cream to your hands/​fingernails/​feet/​toenails, as that is where you can really bungle and end up with the «oh, hell naw, she spray tans» looks from girls at the grocery store.
Go forth and be tan in a healthy manner!

Just went here and impulsively bought a tanning package. I haven’t tanned since I was like 18 and I was hating myself for going back after I had previously sworn it off, but sometimes a girl just needs to get rid of her seasonal depression and get a good dose of fake sunshine.
The girl assisting me was very helpful, I thought. I got a really nice lotion for 25% off since I just signed up and since I had never used lotions before she kindly explained to me the benefits of each.
I guess in the end, it worked out fine, everything seemed clean. This IS my first time going here though, so I’ll be sure to update as I visit more often.
UPDATE:
I’ve been going here a bit more and I have to say, there are a few annoying things. The main thing being the fact that I have told SEVERAL of the girls working that the fan in one of the rooms doesn’t work (which makes it kind of unbearable at times) and every single time I’ve been back in that room, it’s still broken. Annoying.

I had a friend who referred me here because it was near our home and cheap. That’s about the only plus side of tanning here. Their beds are soooooo old. If Fred Flinstone had a tanning bed-I’m pretty sure it was bought by Ultimate Exposure. They look like they are straight out of the stone age and are so loud and creeky, sometimes I’m worried I will fall right through!
The guy and girl that I have encountered working here are both very nice and knowledgeable but hi, why would you put me in a bed without a fan? I lasted for a good 7 minutes before worrying that my face was about to melt off. What a waste of a drive for a 7 minute tan! I would have definitely complained and switched beds if it wasn’t the biggest pain in the butt to wipe off my sweat and get dressed only to get undressed again.
If you upgrade to the nicer beds it gets pretty expensive so that’s a big downer. I guess I will have to stick with my creeky coffins until my package is up!

OK, once I realized that $ 50 a month for unlimited tanning is a lot (I don’t tan often) and my sister got $ 19.99 at LA Tan, I’ve been regretful.
I’m tanning for my wedding, but considering that my skin is BURNT right now, I can’t really make use of my month long membership.
And I mean burnt. I did the stand up booth for 10 minutes, and I don’t know what happened, but ouch! What a waste of money! That was Saturday, today is Monday, and I can’t go until at least the end of the week. I just wanted to be tan for my wedding, not red!
What a waste.
