Ward’s Hydro-Vac & Plumbing

My condo association referred me here, and I’ll definitely be using these folks again.
Making an appointment was easy — finding time in my hectic work schedule was the only hurdle. I had to make a second call to talk to the owner about pricing, and he was friendly and answered all of my questions.
On the day of the appointment, they were already on-​site doing some work for our HOA, so that was convenient all around. The plumber called me about half an hour before my estimated appointment time and then headed up to my unit.
I had a couple of major items that needed attention and a slew of new-​homeowner questions. He gave me advice on a cheap solution for the sewer gas that was coming from under my kitchen sink — spray foam for all the spaces where the plumbing comes in and out of the wall, since the sewer gas is likely coming from a cracked vent pipe in our 100+ year old building. Next he fixed the stuck radiator valve in my bedroom — this was a minor fix, but I was overjoyed to no longer have to sleep in a sauna with a screaming radiator! He was also super nice about answering all of my random plumbing questions, and he even took a couple of minutes to show me how to swap out a corroded p-​trap by myself and recommended using PVC pipes since those can be installed without tools.
It would have been really easy to try to fleece me, given that I’m a new homeowner with zero plumbing knowledge. Not only did this plumber not do that, he went the extra mile by explaining a few things and giving me tips to solve minor problems on my own. Also, I’m used to being condescended to in these situations since I’m a young lady person, but there wasn’t even a hint of an attitude, which was refreshing.
These guys earned their five stars, and I’ll be referring my friends to them.

They blew me off twice, told me they’d be by after noon two days in a row and never showed up. Stay away if you want anything done quickly!

Ward Plumbing is VERY responsive and reasonably priced. I recently started using them for a few condo buildings that I manage and found them great to work with on a commercial level as well as a residential level. I would recommend them for both minor work and major work.
