West Loop Smile Studio is a great place for your dentistry needs. They are friendly, and quick to get you back to your day. Their office is beautiful and makes going to the dentist almost fun :) They take great care of our family!

During my most recent visit to West Loop Smile Studio, I was informed that Dr. Adekola was no longer with the practice so I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Ozzie Smith, but they switched me to Dr. Grace Lee at the last minute (I am not sure why since Dr. Smith was in the office). Anyway, Dr. Lee had the assistant take TWO sets of xrays of my teeth and then proceeded to tell me I had SIX cavities. I couldn’t believe it. When I got a second opinion from another dentist, I learned that I did NOT have any of the cavities Dr. Lee had supposedly identified. I don’t care if that’s malpractice or sheer stupidity; I am NOT going back and you should not either. Even the hygienist at West Loop Smile Studio did a lame job cleaning my teeth. What a waste of time and money.

Pro: The customer service was good, the staff was friendly and making appointment was a breeze.
Con: I had a couple of cavities, after examination, the staff decided I need crowns on both and scheduled the work. No one consulted me or give me an explanation why fillings weren’t an option. I endured 2 6-​hour sessions for just the first crown, mostly due to repeated x-​rays and waiting for the mold to set, I felt the process was very amateurish. After the first crown was put in, I decided against going back for the second tooth. The crown was uncomfortable and I had regular bleeding gums for months after. Now, about 15 months after the crown was put in, it just cracked in half and I’ll need to go through the entire process again to have it rebuilt.
Long story short, I felt like a customer, not a patient… worse of all, I feel like I was ripped off for the service I received. Would not recommend.

Phenomenal Experience! Dr Ozzie Smith and his team of professionals exceeds my expectations every time. I truly am grateful that he exist, because I would not trust anyone except for him with my pearly whites. I take extreme pride when it comes to my oral care and it is reciprocated by providing me with deligence, trustworthiness, and impeccable professionalism. Indeed Dr Ozzie, is outstanding with his craft/​talent in the dental industry.

What a great experience!
Today I went to West Loop Smile Studio for the first time, and was thoroughly impressed with their clean, modern dental office and warm and friendly staff.
For starters, booking an appointment was a breeze– Janice helped answer all my dental insurance questions, since this was my first time using it since moving to Chicago. This morning, she took care of all of my paperwork in just a few minutes. Fun fact: WLSS uses dry erase paperwork. What a great idea! It keeps your information more secure, because there isn’t paperwork floating all over with your personal info on it, and it’s also friendly for the environment.
(And, Janice was so friendly, she even noted that my brother had referred me and remembered his dogs’ names!)
The woman who took my x-​rays was friendly and efficient, and my dental hygienist was awesome– she explained what she was doing while she was doing it, and took the time to make sure I was comfortable and had all of my questions answered.
Finally, Dr. Ozzie came in for the final checkup, and he was calm, kind and expedient.
Some other major perks: The staff offered me coffee, tea or water in the waiting room; the dental chair was also a massage chair; my room had a large TV so I could watch the news while I got my teeth cleaned; and everything was super, super clean.
You’re never sure what you’re getting into with a new dentist, but I’ve already booked my next appointment here in six months. As other people have noted– even if I moved, I would go out of my way to come back to WLSS!

First off, this review has been a long time coming. After each visit I always say I’m going to write a Unilocal review.
My past experiences with dentists are like so many out there. Anxiety, fear and dread. Yes, maybe it’s an irrational anxiety, but it’s still anxiety.
Roll back to spring of 2014. I found West Loop Smile Studio from a provider list under my dental insurance plan. They were close to where I live so I thought I would give them a ring.
From the first phone call with the receptionist Janice, I knew this dental experience would be different. I believe that you can always get a feel for how a company is and the experience you’ll have based on who that company chooses to interact with patients and how that person interacts with said patients. Well WLSS hit the jackpot here. No better business decision could have been made than choosing Janice as the person who patients interact with initially and at the conclusion of a visit. From the phone call for my initial appointment to the greeting I received my first time there (and every time thereafter) to concluding my appointment (s), Janice went above and beyond what one would expect for customer service. She was warm, friendly, genuine, caring. The best part, she seems to truly love caring for the patients. She sets you at ease and makes you feel like you fit right in and that you should just be there. It’s very comforting for someone like me who’s had anxiety when it comes to dentists. Janice is unbelievably amazing!
Now to the second amazing person. Stephanie the hygienist. From escorting me back to the dentist chair to prepping me for a cleaning or other procedures, Stephanie has this sweet and calming demeanor about her. Very genuine as well. Always smiling and asking how things are going. Another person there who really truly seems to love caring for people.
Now onto why I believe West Loop Smile Studio has become and is such an outstanding, above average, exceptional place. There is truth to the saying «It starts at the top». While waiting in the chair for the dentist to arrive, I was on edge just like I normally am in a dentists office. Even with Stephanie’s sweet demeanor, of course there was still some residual anxiety. Then Dr. Ozzie walks in. Such a warm, authentic and welcoming person. His bedside manner is matched by no other. It wasn’t just straight to business with him. Dr. Ozzie took a few minutes to get to know me, set me at ease, and made me feel that my experience was going to be just fine. And it’s been that way from my first visit to all my visits after. He’s the same calm, genuine, welcoming and caring person every single time. I would never go to another dentist and if West Loop Smile Studio ever moved their office, I would drive hours and hundreds of miles if I had to just to see them. That’s how great they are.
I’ve had my regular cleanings done at WLSS along with having a mouth guard made and porcelain crowns on my front teeth. Not only is the work superior but the most important part and the part that keeps me coming back is the customer service. West Loop Smile Studio has consistently met and exceeded all of my expectations. I would recommend them to any and everyone. There should be a West Loop Smile Studio in every neighborhood!

I typically go to the location in Hyde Park and see Dr. Pat. Since I needed to make appointments before my insurance was up, the receptionist suggested I visited Dr. Ozzie at this location.
I’m a brand loyalist and always skeptical about trying new people when it comes to professional services. To my surprise, Dr. Ozzie and his staff were just as kind and professional as the staff in Hyde Park. The office was beautifully decorated and very welcoming and cozy. The receptionist was an absolute sweetheart. She made you feel as though you were visiting your aunt’s or grandma’s house. She was pleasant, warm and very professional.
If I didn’t live within 5 minutes walking distance of the Hyde Park location, I would switch my dentist.

I’ve been looking for a dentist for a while now. I have a bit of anxiety due to some horrific experiences elsewhere, so I wasn’t super excited to get back into the dentist’s chair. The overall office is nice– but wow– the amount of air fresheners or candles in there was making me nauseous and was making me wonder what smells they were trying to hide so badly. My shirt smelled like it when I left my consultation.
The receptionist is very sweet, as well as the dental assistant, who was very sympathetic to my anxiety, which was really great and what I was looking for. I saw Dr. Lee for a consult and she was ok, however after she did the xrays and the thing where they poke your gums, I wasn’t super confident that we were a match. I actually had to point out to her that I had two crowns in the front, one on each side of the middle ones on top. She didn’t seem to notice them until I said something, even after she was done with her consult. I was a little surprised by that since one actually has a big crack in it and was one of the things I was hoping to get fixed, in addition to jumping back on the regular cleanings and proactive dental care. Once we established there was work to be done there, I had asked for a breakdown of potential services we discussed so I could think about it. This was given to me without an issue.
A couple of other things– once we established that I wanted to have my crowns replaced (it has been more than 15 yrs), she went on to explain that I should get all 4 front teeth done at the same time so they «look better together». My other two teeth are fine and healthy! There was a reason for the crowns on the other teeth, and I just didn’t like the suggestion for what seemed to be unnecessary. Dr. Lee was fine with my refusal to do all 4, so at least I didn’t feel pressured into it. Dr. Lee listened to me, which was great. I just didn’t like the feeling of having to tell her about the crowns in the first place.
The other thing that I didn’t like was that she had my chair tipped so far back during the consult that my blood was rushing to my head and I was actually lightheaded when I got up. I also found it strange that I did not see any other patients in the office and it was mid-​afternoon on a weekday. Overall, I think this place is probably fine for most people who don’t have as much work as I will have. We just didn’t click. I couldn’t take the nauseating smells on top of my anxiety. Maybe other people like it. Not a terrible place, but not one I will be making a follow up appointment for.

I went here five times because I had some pain in my mouth. My friend recommended me this place. After visiting here, one thing I know is that Dr. Lee is one of the best dentist I have ever met in Chicago. I could see that she knew her stuffs. They gave me some breaks whenever I needed a break. They even care about the TV channel that they asked me if I want to see any other TV program. Very nice people overall. Most of all, I am pain free now.

Office is very clean, staffs are kind, and Dr Lee is calm and meticulous. Love this place and I’m taking my regular dental checkups from here.

Super helpful and nice staff, however, the hygienist and dentist I saw seemed a little clueless. They spent an extra 10 minutes doing my x-​rays a second time (the first time wasn’t done correctly) and didn’t give me any details on the cavity I had, even after I asked. I’ll be heading to another dentist to get a second opinion before going through with a filling.

After having several bad experiences with other dentists, I have finally found one that makes me look forward to my visits. Dr. Ozzie and his staff are top notch. The office manager Janice ALWAYS make you feel welcomed and she treats everyone as if she known them forever. Dr. Ozzie is very thorough and knowledgable. He has corrected mistakes that other dentist have made so that I was finally able to get braces. I bought my daughter for her first visit this past Thursday and the entire staff made her feel very comfortable and she laughed the entire time. If you are looking for a great dentist West Loop Smile Studio is where you should make your next appointment.

Everyone is very friendly and professional. Dr. Lee is very knowlegible, and she takes the time and effort to listen and closely attend to the patient’s problems and concerns, which I think is a very important quality in a doctor. I am so glad that I found this clinic.

This is way overdue, but I wanted to make sure that I got to it.
I had just quit my job and this was the last day of my insurance. I happened to stumble upon West Loop Smile Studio because it was close to where I live and covered by my insurance.
I made an appointment that morning. When I got there, I was greeted with a smile and was offered refreshments before my appointment. I had to fill out a few forms, but it was pretty hassle-​free.
I saw Dr. Lee, and she walked me through everything. I went in for a cleaning and she was very thorough in examining my teeth, taking pictures and x-​rays, and then explaining to me all of her recommendations.
Since she knew that my insurance was up that day, she squeezed me in for an appointment later that day and took care of some fillings and other procedures I needed to have done. the whole time she was working on my teeth, she even gave me some headphones and turned on the TV to help me relax a little.
I could probably be more thorough, but I seriously have never had a better experience at the dentist.
I was even told to come in for a follow-​up (at no cost) and was called the day after my procedure to check up on me.
I’m so thankful that there are still places like this out there offering great service and with such big hearts.

Let me be fair & state up front that I haven’t visited Dr. Ozzie yet, but I’m referring to him on a first name basis (I should probably be referring to him as Dr. Smith) & I can’t wait to go in for my first appointment later this month.
I currently see Dr. Tahbaz at Old Town Dental Care, but I’m in need of a new dentist because Dr. Tahbaz no longer accepts my insurance. I recently paid $ 200 out of pocket for a chipped tooth. Not Dr. Tahbaz’s fault — but I don’t want to have to pay that much again for something that Cigna covers.
Dr. Ozzie’s office has been in the neighborhood for a couple of months, & my boyfriend hasn’t been able to stop raving about the technicians & receptionists who wave to him every morning when he is out walking our dog. I finally decided to drop in for myself this afternoon to see about these friendly new neighbors, & I wasn’t disappointed. I was out walking the pup, & we were both greeted with warm smiles & waves from everyone — including the doctor. I was offered water & coffee, even though I was in a rush to grab some business cards & head back to work. That’s customer service!
I just got off the phone to schedule my first cleaning, & everyone who I spoke to was courteous & efficient. They didn’t even flinch when I had to fumble around with my Cigna account online for a minute to find my group ID number. The registration process was easy, & I even got to opt in for email & text appointment reminders.
I’m hoping I can give this place 5 stars after my appointment in a couple of weeks!
