Yummy sandwiches. They change seasonly and they always have one vegetarian(and a pb&j). The first time I went I had a roasted pear and gruyère sandwich and then they changed the menu for summer. The sandwich changed to my dream sandwich. I had it at least twice a week. It was heirloom tomato, boucheron cheese, lemon zest, basil, roasted garlic and balsamic. Seroiusly amazing. All sandwiches come with dangerously good fresh cut fries. I always think I’m going to ask for a side of fruit instead or just say«no fries», but I can’t help it.

Good sandwiches, but too expensive. I had the tomato mozzarella sandwich, it was tasty but took a really long time for them to make it. I also bought some cookies, probably because I was waiting so long for my sandwich. Those were also just ok. Probably a good place to go to for catering, but as for just a place to get lunch, you’re better off somewhere else.

Unilocal, I think you may have led me wrong! My work was having a party here at our office and we wanted to get some food catered. I recommended that we use White Linen Catering because of all the good things people on Unilocal were saying about it. I wasn’t as involved with with the planning stages, but I did have a couple conversations over the phone and the people I talked to generally seemed kind of confused. They did send us over a list of different hor d’ouvre platters we could choose from… a couple customized to our requirements. Anyway, I thought that they were a little pricey, but the bosses thought that they sounded good and decided to go with White Linen Catering for five platters and then to also get some simple platters from somewhere else. We decided to opt against having our event staffed(it was quoted at $ 25/hr) as we were just going to have platters set out. Fast-forward to the day of the event. The food shows up and I can tell that it doesn’t look good. We spent quite a bit on food and it all fit into one rather small cooler… not a good sign in my opinion. The delivery person just took the saran wrapped platters out and left… not even a friendly word. This delivery cost $ 50. Anyway, once we unwrapped everything, it required quite a bit of arranging on our part, I also don’t think that there was a garnish to be seen. What I tried did taste very good. Everyone else said that everything tasted very good as well. I’m sure that everything was prepared well and was delicious. However, we did have a couple guests at our event complain of a fishy smell from the Seafood platter which I also noticed was very strong. The thing that bothers me most is that I went to the website and looked at it after the event. There is a selection of different hor d’oevre platters and many are very similar to some of what our company went with. However, the prices listed on the website are anywhere from half to 75% of what we paid or were quoted. We did have some dishes that were customized for us, and I understand paying more for them… but for other items seemed kind of crazy. Next time I’m going to have to look around more when I choose a catering company.

Last night, the yummy cheese plates that we were feasting on at the Unilocal party were provided by White Linen Catering. I must say that they were amazing– the man delivering the cheese to the party got into a car accident and he still managed to bring us the cheese for the party on his way to the hospital! They went above and beyond to make sure we had cheese for the wine party. And it was delicious. A big thank you to White Linen Catering! I will be using them for upcoming events I need catered:)

Noshed on the cheese and nuts White Linen brought to the Unilocal Event – the walnuts were amazing – they had some kind of savory coating. I tried a parmesan-type cheese, a brie(of course) and a strong and salty blue – just the way i like it. The figs and bread slices were delicious too. I now want to hostess an event so White Linen can come cater it. As Elizabeth said, the delivery man went way beyond excellent service to bring us the cheese.

Really enjoyed the Unilocal event that was catered by these guys. I felt that the initial presentation was great, but the cheeses were so good, it didn’t last long! I would definitely use them again.

4 stars for the cheddar alone! That was some good cheddar, and some good brie, good bleu, good cashews, good honey — it was all great. It would have been nice to have plates, and more than 5 crackers, but with cheese that good I’ll get over it. Plus, dude got into a car accident and he STILL brought the cheese. Now THAT is good service. When I need an event catered, this will be the first place I check out.

Very impressed by the cheeses they served at the Unilocal event last night. The brie was great and so was the honey comb. The nuts were perfectly salted and not greasy, just the way I like them. I only wish they had provided plates and crackers. It was not easy eating brie on a paper napkin. Correction: I came to know later that there were crackers, but they were all gone by the time I got there. And the missing plates was because of an unavoidable reason. So, I am changing the review to 5 stars.

The lovely folks at White Linen catered and hosted a rehearsal dinner for my sister and brother in law the other day. Great food, friendly efficient service, and brilliant wine pairings all added up to a perfect evening for all concerned. Their tiny storefront stocks all of the gourmet essentials: a small, well-curated cheese counter, stocks, demi-glaces and soups, marcona almonds, high end pastas, etc etc etc…

Yeah, so the owners are my friends. They get five stars for being my friends, but if I didn’t know them I’d probably give them five-stars anyway. Food at White Linen is great, staff is great, location is great — but the GREATEST thing of all is that they just started selling cupcakes from the Southport Grocery & Café. And — here’s where it really gets exiciting — White Linen is open SEVERAL hours later than SG&C — making the cupcakes available for an extra three hours or so. Hallelujah! P. S. Gary’s ribs & salad’s KILL. You can tell him I sent you.

I threw my boyfriend a surprise 30th bday party last night and the hardest part of the party planning was finding a good yet inexpensive caterer. I searched the Unilocal pages for an answer to my problem and came across a few different caterers. I had them all price out a menu for me and white linen catering was about half the price of the others. In order to make sure the food was good I went on in for lunch one day and tried one of their delicious sandwiches… pear with blue cheese. Delicious! I also tried a few of their prepared foods and everything was amazing. Gary helped me come up with a catering menu that was within my budget and had a wide variety of foods(so even the few vegetarians attending the party would be happy). I was in need of a bartender as well and he provided a staff member for an extra $ 15/hour, which I thought was a great deal. The bartender(hillary) delivered the food last night and could not have been more helpful setting everything up and keeping the drinks flowing. The caterer did forget one dish that I ordered so I called Gary in a panic 15 minutes before the party because I was worried I would not have enough food. He apologized for the miscommunication and had a beautiful cheese platter and fruit bowl at my door within 10 minutes. We had the perfect amount of food and everyone commented on how good it was. I’m definitely going to be using white linen catering in the future and would recommend them to anyone throwing a party. It’s also a great spot to pick up lunch or dinner! Thanks White Linen for making my boyfriend’s 30th birthday a huge success!

This is a very well thought out store. The product is direct, and very high quality. I split a side of brocolini and chana masala along with half of the short rib sandwich. Everything was cooked perfectly. The food is great the owners are involved. Couldn’t have been more pleased with White Linen.

I recently catered a baby shower from here and couldnt have been happier. The food was outstanding and they let us custom make our sandwiches and salads for a very low price. Plus they threw in 4 loves of delicious french bread and homemade chips for free. This was by far the easiest restaurant to work with. I would go back again and again.
