William Dolgi, DDS MS

I did not get treatment with Dr. Dolgi. Maybe he is a good dentist but I will never know because I’ve never had such a weird experience in a dentist’s office before. As mentioned in other comments the office setup is not short of bizarre.
I got to my appointment on time and found no one to greet me because there is no reception desk whatsoever. I looked around but couldn’t find anyone to speak to so I sat down beside some other waiting patients.
During the wait Dr. Dolgi appeared with a set of molds and without any bedside manner open it and showed it to a father and daughter sitting right next to me for everyone to see. Then all of a sudden one of the assistants called my name and gave me a form to fill. I filled it out and a few minutes later I got called in. As I’m called in the woman disappears and I don’t know where to go, two of the strangely large but almost empty rooms or down a hallway. I find the assistant again and she points me to the right room.
Everything about the room was strange from the size and bareness to the cheap tiles on the floor and the common bathroom sink awkwardly placed in the corner. As I’m waiting for the doctor laying in the dentist’s chair several other patients walk in and out of the room as it is one of the ways into an office where apparently the documents are kept and payments are made.
Dr. Dolgi then comes into see me and hands me a mirror that I don’t know what is for since I know what my own teeth look like. Then he asks me what kind of treatment I want without even looking at my teeth; if I knew what treatment I needed I wouldn’t need a dentist to see me. Noticing that I’m uncomfortable he takes a look at my teeth so quickly that I don’t think he could seen anything. The whole exchange was just bizarre and unpleasantly informal, him and his assistant standing and asking me what treatment I wanted to do without being clear or informing me about my options.
Finally, when I asked for a written quote he literally grabs a blank sheet of paper and writes down «express invislign» and the price with no other information.
So I will repeat I WAS NOT TREATED by Dr. Dolgi but I can’t imagine what person in their right mind would let him treat you.

Dr. Dolgi is an elite provider of Invisalign and for that reason he has tons of clients, literally. Unfortunately, I did not feel like I got the level of attention and service that I paid for. For example, once I scheduled an appointment at his downtown office but when I arrived, it was closed because he completely forgot about it. You also must call to schedule your own follow-​up appointments and notify them if you need more aligners. In other words, you’re responsible for your own progress.
I had one tooth on the top row that was pushed in and severe overcrowding in my lower front teeth. My initial treatment time was around 1.5 years but it ended up taking a little over 2 years. More than half way through, I had to get new aligners made since my teeth were not adjusting as planned. In the end, my front teeth were straight but some were higher than the others. With no other aligners left to fix the issue, I felt he took the shortcut to just be done with my treatment. He decided to shave down the taller teeth which left me with painful sensitivity for a few weeks. I think if he had spent more time with me throughout my treatment and maybe added buttons or utilized rubber bands when he noticed things were not moving as planned, I would have gotten the end results that I wanted. I’ve pointed out my concerns about the lower and higher teeth but he always reassured me that the aligners will eventually fix it. Also, my other concern about my overbite was never corrected during my treatment.

I was referred to Dr. Dolgi in 2012, I had really crowded teeth and it was about time to get treatment. Any other orthodontist I went to had said my only choice was metal braces. Well I didn’t feel comfortable as I was in a profession that involved a lot of communicating one on one. Long story short, I went to Dr. Dolgi, he fit me with Invisalign braces and never looked back from that day on. I took my daughter in to get several reviews from different orthodontists. She had a adult tooth that would not come down, and push out the baby one. Her dentist had initially recommended that both the baby and adult teeth be removed, as the adult one did not have a substantial root. She even gave us an oral surgeon recommendation. All of the orthodontists, except for Dr. Dolgi, strongly recommended to pull the two teeth and then get an implant. A second option was to pull the baby tooth, and then surgically attach an appliance to pull down the adult tooth, but was not recommended. Either option would have cost us thousands of dollars additionally (our insurance wouldn’t fully cover). I thought that they were seriously crazy, as she had an adult tooth, but it was just slow to develop. When we came in to see Dr. Dolgi, he understood how important this was to us, to fix her teeth in a humane fashion. He also commented that he thought that her adult tooth was impacted, and being prevented from growing by the large baby tooth. He was willing to work with us. He pulled the baby tooth (for free as well), and then we waited. In 3 months, her adult tooth dropped down ON ITS OWN, no assistance needed! There have been times when we have had terrible dental experiences. In this case, Dr. Dolgi is an amazing person and dentist because HE LISTENS to what your goals are and discusses the appropriate options. He realizes that we don’t have deep pockets, but want the best possible, reasonable treatment for our children. It took me over a year to finally stumble upon him, and it was worth the search. He saved us from allot of debt and needless pain /​suffering. My adult son now goes to him as well. Both are having invisalign done, which has been much easier than traditional braces. After deciding on Invisalign, I consulted with several different dentists and orthodontists. I chose Dr. Dolgi because of his knowledgable background, proven successes, friendly disposition, and reasonable prices. Working with him was very easy, and he was always available for questions or emergencies (like when I threw my aligners out along with the wrappers and trash on my McDonald’s tray!) I’m definitely a perfectionist and I appreciate that Dr. Dolgi did revisions if a tooth didn’t move exactly as expected. Now that my treatment is finished, my smile looks perfect and it’s all thanks to Dr. Dolgi!

My entire invisalign experience, from the consultation to current day (almost 2 years later), has been smooth and easy. The one thing that really stands out is the level of personalized attention you receive from Dr. Dolgi. You can make appointments or ask questions through phone, email, or text. His schedule and locations are always very flexible. In the middle of my treatment, I actually moved from Chicago to the east coast. Yet I had no problems continuing my treatment with Dr. Dolgi. When the time came for refinements, I took the opportunity to visit some friends back in Chicago, stopped by Dr. Dolgi’s office (he was very accommodating with my schedule), got new impressions, and received my refinements in the mail a couple of weeks later. I probably won’t even have to fly back for the retainers because the fit will already be on the computer.
I am so glad I choose to go with Dr. Dolgi. There are sometimes groupons and deals floating around these days offering discount invisalign treatments. But an invisalign treatment is a long-​term relationship, and you definitely want to find a doctor you are both comfortable with and trust. And for that, I highly recommend Dr. Dolgi!

Dr. Dolgi is very unprofessional, as well as the staff and office. They are unorganized with insurance claims and pricing. Pricing and communication is not consistent. They say one thing one day and completely change the next. My daughter’s care was not the greatest either.

I went in for an Invisalign consultation with Dr. Dolgi. His location was convenient to my home and their evening hours were accommodating. The office set up is kind of odd. Large sparse waiting room with an office in another room that I guess serves as a reception/​office shared by the doctor and two assistants. Dr. Dolgi’s price as far as what I was looking for was far cheaper than what I was previously quoted in the suburbs. He also presented a treatment option that was appealing to me.
I’ve wrestled with what to do with what happened towards the end of my visit. In a nutshell the Doctor violated HIPAA right in front of me showing my pictures of patients and their progress; this was linked to and showed me their names and other PRIVATE information. He was knowingly violating patient’s privacy rights and I casually asked him if this was violating HIPAA (when I obviously knew it was). His response still makes my skin crawl, «not unless you decide to do something bad to me.» Basically justifying what he was doing by making it seem like it wasn’t a big deal as long as I didn’t tell on him.
There was absolutely no way I was coming back to this doctor, and I would strongly advise others not to. You don’t know what of your information — even worse photos of you — is being shared without your permission.

Dr. Dolgi is awesome! He is one of, if not the most experienced Invisalign provider in Chicago. I highly recommend him as I’ve seen some of his most complicated cases that he has successfully treated. Everyone in the clinic is very friendly, and will make you feel very comfortable around them. Also, Dr. Dolgi is very accessible so you can keep in touch with him about your progress, and ask him all the questions you want — not intimidating at all!

I found Dr. Dolgi after doing quite a bit of research on Invisalign. I got a few other quotes, which he beat by hundreds of dollars. I ended up paying ½ the price of the very first quote I got from another Invisalign specialist – and Dr. Dolgi is one of the top providers in Illinois.
Dr. Dolgi is a good listener, which was important to me, because I felt blown off or «sized up» by other providers in this process. As for my teeth, I’m almost halfway through and extremely happy. I have confidence in my smile again, and feel great.
I recently brought my husband in to get new retainers, and he got a weekend appointment the next day, not to mention a super fair price and quick turn around.
His office flies by seat of their pants a little bit, but don’t let that scare you. They work very hard and are super efficient… and who can beat affordable great care with appointments 7 days a week?

A friend recommended Dr. Dolgi, so I went in for a consultation. It’s about a year later, and I am so happy with both the process and the staff. I was given a quote the same day, and he was very flexible when arranging payment options. I have missed appointments and shown up late, but the staff has been nothing but understanding and accommodating. I despise rude office assistants, so to me this is a big plus.
I was a little nervous about getting braces as an adult, but Invisalign is amazing! No one ever knows I’m wearing the aligners until I take them out to eat. (You can even avoid that by doing this in a bathroom!) Each set of aligners is a bit painful for a day or so, but Tylenol or Advil helps. I had a gap between my two front teeth, and the aligners closed it in less than a year.
Anytime I have a question about the process, Dr. Dolgi is happy to take the time to explain things. Dr. Dolgi and his staff are always friendly and professional, and I highly recommend them.

I’ve been involved in the Invisalign process with Dr. Dolgi since March of last year, and am very happy with both the process and the doctor. My teeth weren’t horrible, but they were crooked and crowding enough on the top to give me what I thought were pretty pronounced ‘vampire fangs’. Other people never seemed to notice, but I was always self-​conscious, and very seldom smiled.
Last year, I found out that my dental insurance would pay for braces, and Dr. Dolgi’s Irving Park office is very close to my work, so I figured I’d stop in and see what he had to say, since it was no obligation for a consultation. He took a look at my teeth, and told me not only could he give me a beautiful new smile, but also that he would do all the preliminary x-​rays for free if I signed up. We talked about price and payment options (he’s very flexible as long as you agree to pay something each month), and I decided to go for it. I needed to get my wisdom teeth removed first, and he even found a great oral surgeon for me. Extra points for saving me legwork!
I have not been disappointed. While I was in the main stage of the process, I visited once a month, and my visits were always less than 15 minutes. Now I’m going through a final refinement period, and only have 5 sets of aligners left. Meanwhile, people keep commenting on how straight and pretty my teeth are now, and my boss just asked me the other day if I ever had braces (and was shocked when I told her that I was wearing them :-) People ask me all the time why I look so happy, and it’s not because my attitude is any different, it’s because I’m finally confident about my smile.

I have been doing the Invisalign process for 4 months now. It’s working well and people are really starting to notice my straight teeth! Dr. Dolgi and his office staff are great! I started my invisalign process here in January after reading a Unilocal review. Dr. Dolgi couldn’t have been nicer. He provides a free consult/​assessment and details all the aspects of the procedure. He is not pushy at all. I had done other free consults so the information was not new but the way he presented it made me know that I could make this my dental home for the 15 months! I’m very pleased with my choice.

I started my Invisalign process here back in September 2007 and so far, it’s been a really good procedure. Especially since I’m wrapping up the whole thing. They host something called Invisalign Day where you schedule an appointment and Dr. Dolgi determines whether or not you’d be a good candidate. After your assessment, if you choose to go through with the program — they have this special where whatever down payment you can put down, they will match it 100% up to $ 1,000. They also have an affordable payment plan (interest-​free). For me, the process is taking 13.5 months and they’re throwing free whitening, as well.
Their hours are pretty flexible with Thursday and Friday nights open until 7pm and Saturdays from 10am — 4pm. Dr. Dolgi and his staff are pretty casual and friendly. I usually go in once a month, put in new trays and get another set of trays that I switch out in another two weeks. I definitely am seeing the difference and can’t wait for the whole process to be over! One more tray and then, I’m done :)
EDIT: Dr. Dolgi was a bit of a perfectionist and the process took longer than originally expected, but I am very pleased with the end result. I really liked the Invisalign because I could go ahead and eat whatever I wanted to without worrying about it getting stuck in my braces. Most people didn’t even notice that I had invisalign in and it was perfect for an adult looking for some corrective action. Yes, it did hurt when I got new trays but I’m sure that it would hurt tightening braces, too. Overall, I had a good experience and would recommend others in my situation to go with Dr. Dolgi.
