Windy City Fieldhouse

Always a great go to for events. On several occasions we’ve given them the monumental task of putting together an event for my company last minute. Like less than 2 weeks last minute… I’m surprised they even talk to me still haha! Awesome staff and very thorough, if I could give them more stars I would.

This place has been a fixture in Logan Square for ages, and I finally got to see why when I went to see the Chicago Outfit. Since we’re getting season tickets next year, it’s good that it’s a well-​set-​up facility: lots of space, access to restrooms, good floor vending, solid location, easy to get to, and with the capacity for all kinds of events and sports. The owners keep the place in good shape, and they’re willing to host just about anything. And for derby, there’s not a bad seat in the house! I’m not sure what else I’d go here for, but for my purposes, it hits the spot. What else can I say? That the vending machines work? They do.

Just hosted by twins 6^th birthday party here this past weekend. It was fantastic! The staff were accommodating, and helped to move everything along smoothly. Having the skybox room was great because parents could relax. The room was big enough for adults and children alike to move around and have fun. The wrong type of table was put in the room and the staff immediately made the changes. Staff were accommodating and overall a great time. Highly recommend this for a birthday party. Twins had a ball.

Fun location for a birthday party! We attended a kid’s birthday party here and it was well organized and a good time. The kids had about an hour to play on the courts. The staff organized some soccer, scooter races, and parachute activities. If the kids didn’t want to join in the group activities, they could play with the equipment and do their own thing.
The party was in the Skybox party room upstairs, which was nice for privacy. There were also windows so you could see the kids on the court. You could drink alcohol (cups, not cans or bottles) upstairs. The room was so hot, though! Even with the doors open, we were sweating.
The staff also came into the party room to assist with food, cake, etc., and they kind of got in the way. Finally, the women’s locker room was dirty; the trash can was overflowing during the entire ~3 hours we were there. All in all, a good time, but room for improvement.

Great activities for kids and the birthday parties are awesome. Well organized and offer a variety of activities at the birthday parties.

I play in a volleyball league here. It’s easy to get to if you’ve got a car. Parking is a lacking but car pool and you shouldn’t have a problem. Conveniently located next to the freeway.
Tons of different sports leagues play here so they must be doing something right. This place is packed on a Sunday night.

Been going here playing indoor soccer for years, now my sons are being coached here and it is great. I originally gave WCFH 4 stars but then decided they deserve 5, great facilities, well organized with experienced coaches who care.

Disregard the crazy lady from out of state who thinks this is located in a «desolate» area. It’s right in Logan Square, between the expressway on one side and the Elston Target shopping center on the other.
I’ve only played volleyball here, but I’m impressed with the size of the facility and the variety of sports constantly going on here, usually basketball and soccer. There are a ton of courts inside so they can accommodate a bunch of leagues at once. Parking seems limited, but I walk there, so I can’t really speak to that. It’s nice to have a place like this on this side of town.

My region from work had our conference in Chicago a few weeks ago. This is the place we chose to have team building fun! I will warn you, our entire group of around 35 people had to take many cabs to get here and even the cab drivers couldn’t find it. Very desolate area. I turned on my phone GPS and got us there with no issues.
The building is very large, more of a huge warehouse. Two levels, basketball courts, and locker rooms and plenty of space to have different events.
Our groups were divided up and over two hours I believe we did five different exercises. The age range varied in our group so each task was not at all physical in any way. Most of it was memory skills, listening, and communicating with your team. The staff were all very friendly and the leading guy was quite funny. Sarcastic as well but in a good fun way.
Most of the exercises I really enjoyed and took something away from it. There were two that I wasn’t wild about. All in all we had a great time. It was creative, fun, and a perfect way to promote teamwork.
The place is considerably clean and loads of fun!

We were here for a Booth event and it was a really good time! The space is huge and the staff is very nice. I think they could use more staff when they have huge parties but otherwise it was a great time.

I come here for Stroller Strides classes. I love how there is so much parking and plenty of room inside. We have had classes in the front courts as well as the back courts which is harder to get to with strollers. After some classes, there is a room upstairs that we can hang out in too. It seems like this is a popular place for camps for older children too so I will probably be coming to the Windy City Fieldhouse for many years to come!

This is where we go to see the Chicago Outfit Roller Derby home games. Always a good time and family friendly.

Great place to enroll your kids in sports activities. Near all Logan Square has to offer for after-​sport lunch activities.

I’ve played in a few volleyball leagues here and haven’t liked the venue very much. the floors are always pretty dirty and it doesn’t seem like they ever clean them. but the floor is somewhat of a rubbery material which causes them to stick, so maybe it’s a good thing the floors aren’t cleaned…
the ceilings are high but the supports hang pretty low so you can’t hit a ball up too high or else you will hit the support or get caught up in the nets above the court. Also, they tend to schedule different sports back to back. so if you have a game at 8pm and there is a soccer game before hand, it takes them 10 – 15 min just to set up the nets for volleyball.
the bathrooms and locker rooms aren’t the cleanest areas either, and parking can be quite tricky here, especially when there are 10+ different sporting events going on at once.
it’s not my favorite sports venue, but at least it’s really close to the expressway and easy to get to.

Great venue for children’s birthday parties! Alexis made sure the planning process went smoothly. She allowed us to bring in wine for our party and helped decide what games the children should play. What was extremely helpful was that they accepted our cake delivery even though she said they normally do not take deliveries.
The staff members supplied to us (I wish I remembered their names) were extremely helpful and friendly. They helped us set up before the party, kept the children entertained throughout the entire party, served their pizza and drinks, and helped with cake and ice cream! I wish I could have brought them home with me.
All in all, WCF is a fantastic hassle free venue to host a children’s party and we definitely will be hosting another birthday there in the future.

Went to the Fieldhouse for the first time after driving past it on my way to the other shops around the area.
Saw a roller derby bout and was really impressed at the space. It’s large enough for a lot of different sports, which I was amazed at because it looked small to me! The staff at the desk were nice when we walked in, which is always a plus in my book.
They offer drinks for «adult» events! Very nice.
I did have a couple issues. They need to invest in some decent seating instead of those horrible fold-​up chairs. There are movable, collapsable bleachers, and I think it woudl be worth the investment.
Also, parking. Or should I rephrase that to… what parking? There is an extremely limited area, and if you don’t find parking on Elston you’re SOL. I would recommend taking the bus or testing your luck in the Target parking garage without being towed.

Good venue to check out an event — we came with the gang to see a double billing Roller Derby with the Windy City Rollers first then the Chicago Outfit second. The parking lot was filled, but apparently we were allowed to park on the 2^nd and 3^rd levels of the next door Target structure lot.
There were plenty of plastic chairs available, the attendant even started adding more as needed. Beers for sale on one side, nachos, hotdogs and sodas on the other side, along with cheaper sodas and water from the vending machines. A few other tables trying to sell things, dunno what they were, didn’t look. The locker rooms and bathrooms were a little scuffed as befits a sports facility, but orderly and clean.
Couldn’t really understand what was going on, along with the distorted voice of the announcer, but no probs, just enjoyed the whole novel experience — Girl Power, fun and inventive names, 4-​wheel roller skates. Good times!

This is a great facility. My only complaints are for the lack of seating and bathroom location. The parking isn’t fabulous, but it is the city so some slack can be cut.
Otherwise, this is a great sports complex.

Team building? Yuck.
Well, that’s usually my sentiment. I guess I should explain my problem with team building activities before I even discuss my experience here. Usually, these activities are used totally inappropriately. If we are going to train together for three days, have an orientation for an evening or some other event after which I will NEVER see you again, I do NOT want to «team build» with you. It’s useless and stupid. Who cares? I don’t like you and we’re probably not going to be friends if this is our first and last encounter, so I really don’t want to know «two truths and a lie» about you.
However, I was lucky enough to do some team building with a team of which I am actually a part: my awesome ChiArts coworkers! Team building activities are actually fun if you do them with people that you already know. And Windy City Fieldhouse has got you covered! The employees in charge of the team building activities are totally enthusiastic and friendly, so it’s really easy to work with them. They are clear with instructions for each activity and they keep everything moving well so you don’t run over scheduled time.
Everything we did was very fun and there was a really nice mix of physical and mental activities for us to do together. There are different team building packages available on their website, so your organization can choose the one that will work best for you. There are different types of activities for different types of groups so you will definitely get what you are looking for. I’m not sure of the price since our school paid the bill, but the information on their website seems reasonable.
The facility itself is nice and large and there is ample parking available. Everything looks new and all of the spaces are neat and clean. Big locker rooms, tons of bathrooms and tons of equipment for you to utilize while you’re at the facility. There are all sorts of things to do here including sports leagues, team building, parties, exercise groups, groups for kids, etc. They really have an activity to fit every need so give them a call if you’re an active person.

I was extremely happy to find out it was right next to the highway. Personally, I don’t think parking was bad at all! Granted my league met on Wednesdays before but even now as we meet on Fridays, I haven’t had too much trouble finding a spot.
The facility is clean which is a big plus.
they are horrible with their schedule though. If you rented the courts for 8pm, you might not start til 8:30. Since no one really rented the court after us, they’d let us play a little later to make up the time. But if someone DID rent the courts, we’d have to leave which would be a waste of our money.
They also sometimes rent their courts to parties which hire DJs. I understand that they need to make money and all but do you know how annoying it is to try to play volleyball with deafening music blasting? It’s just silly and horribly distracting.
I didn’t find the hourly rental fee so bad so it didn’t lower my rating that much. That, plus I don’t know where else to rent volleyball courts! If anyone else knows, please feel free to let me know! I would be forever grateful! The annoying part about renting courts is that you need to EMAIL them. So plan ahead!
