This place is amazing. Went in for a quote on some scratches and dings on my car. Someone helped me in moments, were polite, gave me great advice and didn’t try to sell me on anything I didn’t need. 15 minutes later I had a printed quote and an appointment the next day.
Picked the car up today and it was perfect. Not only was I charged as quoted TO THE PENNTY, but they buffed out a few extra scratches for me too. And my car was washed. Everyone there is polite, honest and they do amazing work. Won’t be going anywhere else.
Oh, and along with body work they do mechanical stuff. Never going anywhere else for that either.

Such friendly, competent staff. Great location. Fair price. Completed all repairs within the day on my Volkswagen Jetta, and at a great rate with no bullshit, straightforward service. They did such an awesome job on my car that it feels like new. They even cleaned the inside and out!

This is my first time ever using Unilocal to write a review. I’ve never felt the need to write one before my experiences with Wizard Werks. I have taken two different cars that needed totally different services to Karim and his crew and I could not have asked for better service. I primarily spoke with Shawn throughout the last repairs I had done on my 1989 e30 BMW. This car is over 25 years old and needed some serious repairs to the extent I didn’t even realize.
Not only did Shawn explain everything thoroughly but he went above and beyond and even fixed a few things free of charge. I saved well over $ 600 dollars and received expert service. I highly recommend Wizard Werks, if you like things to be done right at a fair price.

Called them, and they said to come in the next day. Two hours after that they called with a full assessment and invited me in to see for myself. The price was right so I said go for it. By that afternoon the work was completed; and driving my 2002 Audi A6 home was a delight which is nice since I hated driving it before that. More details below:
My right rear caliber was making noise so I took it into the dealer. The Dealer wanted $ 180 to look at it. I negotiated it down since this came as a surprise, but they called me hours later and said I needed front and rear brake pads and rotors, costing $thousands. I asked them about the caliber and they said they won’t know until they take the wheel off. So for $ 90 they couldn’t be bothered to take the wheel off. In fairness to them, they called a week later to apologize and say the $ 90 I paid can be used as a future credit.
Wizard Werks said I do not need front brakes; but the rear calibers were bad, and the price for calibers, rotors, pads, and a new vacuum line was less than what the dealer wanted for just the front and rear pads and rotors.
Very pleased so far.
Reading the reviews, it’s mostly five stars with a few one star reviews that are silly, such as one person who was never a customer, but gave them a one star review because she didn’t like the way they sounded on the phone. And another person who said they did awesome repairs on her car but another day did an oil change that cost more than she expected, so she hit them with a two star review. Come on, people.

Wizard Werks recently replaced the condenser in my Mini Cooper S. They magically (pun intended) managed to get the part and perform the service within only a few hours so I would have a working a/​c for my drive out to the suburbs for the holiday weekend. They charged me the actual price of the part that I was seeing online and somehow slightly less than the Mini dealership was going to charge for the same part, and they charged half as much for labor as the dealership was going to charge. Everyone at Wizard Werks was very nice and I look forward to continuing to do business with them.

These guys got my car in and out within hours, did a great job, cleaned my car inside and out, and gave me a great quote. They also called me to let me know how much stuff was gonna cost before they did work. Karim is very professional and his boys do good work. The only reason I can’t give five stars is because there were discounts that they didn’t tell me about that I had to find out and ask them to apply. They didn’t hesitate to apply them which is good, but I personally like it when places will let me know about these things instead of me going & searching for it. Very honest and hard workers. Even without the coupons it was a great deal. Give them a try!

Karim, sorry I must have forgotten.
My wife had some paint damage to her car (happens about once a year. Don’t ask). I took it to another place before. It was inexpensive but not a very good job. There was a paint snot on the edge of the door.
Looking to find another place I looked on Unilocal and found Wizard Werks.
They did a good job with the paint at a good price. Later when my wife broke an axel on lower wacker I had no hesitation in taking it in. They did a good job fixing her BMW 328xi. They explained what happened, what had to be fixed and did a good job at the price they gave me. We now do all our preventive maint and repairs there. I know its going to get done right the first time and no bullshit.
It’s the only place that my wife will go to alone without fear of hearing something like; «the Johnson rod sheared the Fram joint»
I liked them so much I bring my 2006 Saturn Vue in. They treat it just like the expensive cars I see.
Two stories. (optional read)
I brought my car in for brake work and met the mechanic. (They always introduce me to the guy who is going to do or did the work. I really like that) He was nervous about it being his first day. He was really eager to learn and make a good impression. I returned a year later and he was still there. He was pretty happy.
It’s nice to see that Karim hires people who really enjoy their work. It shows.
Second Story
Saturns are no longer made anymore. When it was around they were known for being innovate. Near the end they used a Honda engine in their SUVs. So I have a polymer car (no rust) with a Honda engine (runs forever).
Last year when I brought in my black 2006 Saturn Vue one of the guys was looking at to give me a work estimate. He comes back in the waiting room and says; «You have a Honda engine in there» I said; «I know». He looked at me surprised and asked «How did you get it in!?»
We both laughed when I explained. Seems he was a car buff who did modifications. (Again, good people).
Along with doing the work I paid him for he gave everything a check. I’m very glad to be assured that my 10 year old Saturn Vue has at least another 10 years in it. [A nice change from a dealer who told me I got my money’s worth and should by a new one after 6 years]
I don’t know if the place is «as good as it gets» but it is the best I’ve seen.

I hope they do a better job at fixing cars than they do at customer service! Next time I will be at A different shop. My car broke down on a Friday night and they were the only shop open on Saturday. It would have been the same price to fix at BMW or cheaper at another shop! They told me it was ready and I have been waiting for 30 minutes!!! I would not be so annoyed if the same thing didn’t happen last time I was here! Spending over $ 2000 in the last two moths in this shop and terrible service has left me bitter. I will spend my $$$ somewhere else. My time matters! And the fact that I called to check prices and I could have paid $ 250 less does not help their cause!

Anytime you have to take the car to get worked on is a dreadful experience. However, it was quite pleasant with Josh and Karim at Wizard Werks. They have a great reputation for a reason. The service was excellent and the staff is very friendly. I have been driving with essentially 1% left on my brakes and needed to get them replaced. I dropped my car off in the morning and had an estimate shortly after. Brakes were fixed, car was washed, and I was back in my car in a matter of hours. Reasonable cost as well.
Overall I had a positive experience with this company, and I would definitely recommend them without any hesitation.

This is one of those places you walk into and have a warm greeting no matter who is working. The owner, his right hand man, or his assistant.
Quite literally I look forward to getting my car repaired because I always walk out of here in a good mood.
Just as importantly the work they do is top of the line. When A repair shop is filled with high-​end sports cars you kind of get the feeling they know what they’re doing and they do.
I have had mechanical and body work completed here and both times the job was done right the first time.
Final thoughts on Wizard Werks… speed of service. They have enough staff to turn your project around quick. The owner is always there insuring things are running well which just reinsures you even more that you won’t find a better shop in the city.

Are you kidding me??? Is there a 10 star option? What great service. I had my 2004 Range Rover in and out in no time with a better price than the dealership. I dealt directly with the owner which is rare these days. I totally forgot to add a repair and he said «no problem– come in and we will take care of it». I definitely recommend them and will continue to use them for my Rover repairs.
The place knows what service is and will definitely return.

From start to finish my experience here was A+. Enno did a great job of quoting the work and keeping up with my progress. I had to be out of town while they were doing a bulk of the work and they made it very easy for me to have my roommate pick up the car when it was finished.
After the original completion of the car Enno called me to tell me that he wasn’t 100% satisfied with some of the paint job that they had done, and although it was not something that I would have probably noticed, that he did notice and asked if it would be ok for them to take a few more days to fix it so that it was 100% perfect.
I didn’t get other quotes, so I can not comment on the fairness of price, however it seemed for the quantity and quality of work that they did (it was all body work due to me sliding against a pole in a parking garage) that it was fairly priced.
Overall I was very very happy with the service and the quality of the work.
My only complaint, was that my car smelled like paint for about a week after I picked it up, but i suspect there is not much that can be done about that. The car had also been detailed on the inside and looked brand new!

I’ve been here a handful of times with various issues with my car. Each of the occasions I’ve worked with this shop has been pleasant and much better than working with a dealer. For reference, I drive a 2006 VW Passat 2.0T with about 74k miles at this time.
1) During one of the worst/​first snow storms of 2014, I got in my car to go to work and a light referencing the brake system came on. I drove over to Wizard Werks without even calling ahead… it was just the closest shop but was also highly rated. They took in my car, ran computer diagnostics, reset the system, and I was out in under 15 minutes.
2) October 2015 — I had my check engine light come on and brought it in to get the system scanned — Again, no appointment. The report this time — an air leak somewhere (or something… I dunno, I’m not a car guy). In order to fix the problem they also had to determine where the leak was… something about filling the system with gas/​smoke, I dunno. I made an appointment to return and they did another scan, did the gas/​smoke diagnosis thing, and then made the repair. Since I had all of the diagnosis work done there, they only charged me for the repair.
3) March 2016 — I brought my car in for an oil change and tire rotation. They identified a number of other issues, including various leaks… Unfortunately, this one wasn’t a cheap repair, there was a lot of labor involved with the repair so it did cost quite a bit. But, since they were taking out the engine, they took advantage of that labor (so I wouldn’t have to pay for it again later) and replaced some other parts that tend to go bad after 10 years and 70k miles. After finding out the cost of the repairs, I considered selling the car… but they took the time to explain all of the repairs to me. They answered all of my questions and I eventually decided it was in my best interest to keep the vehicle as many of the repairs were more routine for having an oldish car.
Overall, coming to Wizard Werks for my car service has been an excellent experience. The customer service is great, they honor their appointments, they charge reasonable rates, and they keep you in the loop with the work they are doing on your car.

This guys are great. Since I’ve moved to West Loop a little over a year ago this is the place I go for my car troubles. They always stand by their work and provide great customer service. Always upfront about pricing and very helpful. No job is too small, no job is too big.

Karim and his crew were extremely pleasant to work with. They were knowledgable and fairly priced, and had the work done in the time they promised. Also, my car looks great! Will keep bringing my BMW 3-​series there for service and repair.

First, I wish I was wrong about what I’m about to tell you but I have denied this for too long and all of the pieces have finally lined up and now make sense to me a year after the fact.
So, I took my car there in the last year or two with trouble starting. Here were the problems identified and fixed (all from memory):
1. Problem: Vacuum leak
Solution: I showed up one day to check on my car and he claimed the leak was in the block and he would have to take off the flywheel, belts and pulleys to access the problem requiring additional hours of labor.
Update: I still have the same problem and Loeber Audi says it will require $ 8,000 worth of work to access and fix a vacuum leak.
2. Problem: Coolant reservoir was cracked Solution: Replacement at a cost of $ 400
Update: There’s a hole at the bottom of the reservoir that is leaking coolant and causing my engine to smoke.
Note: The sales rep at O’Reilly Auto Parts told me today that this a common problem.
Conclusion: This is a common tactic of a private Auto Repair business used to boost their bottom line.
3. Rear brake pads and discs were worn
Solution: Replacement of both pads and discs
Update: My rear left brake caliper is frozen in a closed position and is wearing the new disc and pads quickly
Solution: Replace frozen back left caliper, both discs and pads.
4. Problem: Delayed starting
Solution: Replace battery (big battery that sits in the bottom of my trunk and expensive) and some solenoid on top of the engine.
Update: Still having problems starting
You be the judge of what I think has happened. I would hope that any business would solve problems and not create repeat problems to pad their bottomline. In this case, the pieces suggest that sabotage has played a strategic role in boosting repeat business.
Trust is key. I have learned to get a quote from the dealer first, then go find the best price separately. It might not be a bad idea to pay the dealership to inspect the car after repairs elsewhere too. Or, of course, maybe it is just best to strictly deal with a reputable dealership.

Wow… almost made me glad I had car trouble. This place knows how to run a business.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone within 50 miles of this place. (It’s worth the drive to find mechanics with this kind of integrity and work ethic).

Thank you Wizard Werks! The owner made a concerted effort to find what was causing my «check engine» light to illuminate. Problem solved. The dealership has cost me lots of $ on several of my maintenance visits in the past; always finding more to be repaired than I expected. My Audi drives better than ever! Wizard Werks!

Love them — I had work done about a month ago.
My ’08 Honda Fit was unhappy with me, the engine light flashed when I put it into gear and there was a horrible physical stuttering when the gears changed. I researched the code that the guy from AutoZone gave me, and I was prepped for a lengthy and pricey repair that potentially would have involved a brand new transmission. Called WizardWerks, and got an appointment the next morning, first thing. I got there about 15 minutes early and they were exactly on time. Dropped it off and took the El to my office in the Loop (WizardWerks is conveniently located a few blocks from a pink line stop).
They called me mid-​morning and had already fixed my issue. Not only did they fix my car with *not* a new transmission (they fixed an electrical problem that controlled the transmission), but they also gave me a complete inspection and made some suggestions. I could not afford all the options and they were totally cool working within my budget to get only some of the work done — I’ll admit it, I had neglected it, and it badly needed some repairs. I picked it up after work and it drove like a new car.
Strongly recommended for anybody needing car repair who works or lives in or near the Loop

At work, my colleagues and I constantly discuss the importance for a business to have good service, courtesy and a good work ethic. At Wizard Werks, you get the utmost zenith of all three. The level of professionalism and courtesy is paramount. The quality of work is bar none. My expectation level from Wizard Werks has been exceeded more times than you would expect.
