Yogurt Square

Standard Froyo fare and fun atmosphere, but I echo the other reviewers. The cashier/​manager dude is a major creep, continually popping in and out, and once hung around harassing a friend and I even after we told him we were not interested in whatever it was he wanted. All the other cashiers (have all been women) have been really nice, though. If it wasn’t so conveniently located I’d just as soon go to a different yogurt place.

Love this frozen yogurt shop! The décor is cute and colorful and we love the outdoor seating. The flavors they serve are really good and there are a lot if toppings to choose from. My kids are always trying to get me to go in and buy some!

Huge fan of frozen yogurt! this place always has a great variety of flavors! clean interior, friendly service. can’t wait to get back. one negative is my girlfriend & I walked on down a few weeks ago for some Yogurt and the sign says «CLOSED for the season?» Didn’t know you were seasonal? When do you anticipate you’ll be open again? You should look into that, because when we looked you up online, it says this: Hours: Open today · 12−11PM
Hope you open soon, I need my Frozen Yogurt fix!

Update for Lincoln square residents: yogurt square was open every day this winter, until the snow hit yesterday. Not only are they now closed, once again THEY DID NOT BOTHER TO SHOVEL! If you want to make money in a neighborhood TAKE CARE OF IT! I will never spend another cent here. If you live in this neighborhood neither should you.

One benefit of this place is the late hours. Everything else? Just kinda… meh. The yogurt flavors are decent and the toppings seem pretty standard for any average frozen yogurt place. However, when I asked the lady behind the counter for some sample cups, she gave me only one the size of a thimble. I ended up having frozen yogurt dribbled all over my hand because even a gentle pull of the machine yielded too much for that little sample cup, and I had to reuse it over and over to try different flavors. Overall it just left me with a sour impression, as if they are too stingy to let customers sample the different flavors before deciding!

The yogurt here is great and they have alot of toppings to choose from. The design and layout of the place is very nice and they have a huge outdoor patio to enjoy the summer time and also stay open late. Worth the time and money.

Yogurt Square has many different flavor varieties that you don’t see at many other yogurt places, such as chocolate salted caramel, pistachio, and cake batter. There’s also a divider for your container if you prefer to keep your flavors separate. The toppings are pretty varied and there’s plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Overall, a nice frozen yogurt place, especially for kids.

The yogurt is excellent and all choices are low-​fat or zero fat. I would have given it more stars were it not for the horrible customer service we received today. The guy working there was rude and disrespectful. If you’re willing to put up with his attitude, the yogurt is great.

I agree with the recent comments from others. Yogurt Square is fine — nothing great, nothing bad. It just is. They have average yogurt and average toppings. I go here because it’s convenient and a good option when I want variety from Paciugo. I’d recommend it on a hot day.

I love Yogurt Square! They have a ton of flavors and toppings — my go to’s are the salted caramel corn and original tart. Prices are a bit high since it’s by weight, but I think it’s worth it. It’s really fun and cozy inside if you decide to stay there. The people that work there are always very nice too. What a great little joint — check it out if you’re in the neighborhood!

I’m more of a Pachugo person, but this place is okay. I neither really love or dislike this place. Also agree with the other reviewers that this place is just a-​okay, but I wouldn’t say as good as Forever Yogurt. I’d say it’s more like about as good as Berrymoon at Golf Mill with slightly fewer toppings (unfortunately), and not a destination place for me. But it’s fine, if I happen to be around there, and by some chance I don’t want gelato (not often, but it happens), it works.
Honestly after the renovation happened, it seems like the interior barely changed at all, and is still kinda eh on how it looks. But I can overlook that, since they do have a patio for warmer months, and there are a lot of other benches and outdoor places to sit north of here on Lincoln in warmer months. Or of course, one could walk south to Welles Park. Their bathroom was at least maintained and clean, on my last visit this past summer.
Sometimes I wonder if I should be doing this review, since if you’ve been to one frozen yogurt place, you’ve been to them all IMO. :) But might as well, since I still do love to use this site.

Yogurt Square is a pretty standard self serve frozen yogurt place. You grab a cup, choose your flavor or flavors, fill your cup with as much as you want, add toppings, weigh your cup, and then pay. They charge by the ounce, and it can get pretty expensive if you aren’t paying attention to how much you are adding to your cup.
It can be tricky to navigate around the screaming children and people who can’t seem to figure out how things work, but it is still fairly easy to get in and out quickly. I usually take my treat to go (I like to eat while I walk), but I do sometimes take advantage of their outdoor seating when the weather is especially nice.
They have nice selection of basic flavors ranging from tart original to the standard flavors (chocolate, vanilla, cake batter) to fruit flavors like coconut, banana, and watermelon. I do appreciate that they have the nutrition information displayed for every flavor. And I love the little dividers they have that you can add to your cup if want multiple flavors, but don’t want them to touch. They also have a decent selection of toppings (fruit, candy, sprinkles — pretty much everything you expect to find at a frozen yogurt place), but it seems that those aren’t always refilled, as there are times when I’ve been in and the strawberry container is empty.
So no, there isn’t anything special about Yogurt Square, but a cup of frozen yogurt sure hits the spot when you are craving a sweet treat.
Just a word of warning — customer service doesn’t exist here. You will not be greeted when you enter. Don’t bother asking any questions, because you won’t get any answers. The staff also doesn’t seem to clean very often or restock empty toppings in a timely fashion. Oh, and one of the staff members gets a little unpleasant if you don’t tip and likes to point out the fact that they have a tip jar. Yes, I see the tip jar. But considering that I serve myself, I’m don’t understand why I’m expected to tip. My advise is to get your frozen yogurt and head outside to enjoy it.

I should say they I go here all the time, despite the service, because the fro-​yo is delicious.
What do I mean by despite the service?
Well, the workers look 100% bored and as if they cannot be bothered… Even when there is obviously cleaning that could be done or toppings that could be filled.
That said, yum.

Clean with a good selection of flavors and topping.
Keep an eye on any kids with you as it can end up being costly. You get charged by weight of froyo in cup.

This place is great! The BF and I met up with some friends on a nice sunny Sunday and decided to stop in for some froyo before hitting the park. First off, they offer a divider for your cup so you can get TWO flavors and they wont mix — genius. Secondly, I like how they tell you calories/​fat/​sugar for each frozen yogurt. I went with the Irish Mint and the Cookies and Cream and both were delish. I sampled the BF’s cake batter and that was good too as was the cappuccino. They have a nice seating area outside so we were able to sit and enjoy the yogurt for a bit before heading off. I would definitely recommend this spot — I know I will be hitting it up again. Also, the casher thought my friend was European — it certainly made his day :)

This really is pretty poor quality frozen yogurt. It truly is lacking in flavor, and isn’t very creamy. I tried 3 or 4 different flavors (my friend and I each got two), and was definitely not impressed.
For maybe the first time ever, I threw my dessert away.

There is nothing «square» about this place [aside from it’s location], it’s all kinds of crazy with unique flavors like toasted marshmallow, salted caramel corn, cotton candy and chocolate caramel turtle. It’s a self-​service yogurt station in overdrive, have 16 flavors on tap! That is pure insanity topped only by their toppings bar complete with unique toppings like red velvet cake bits, all kinds of saucy sweet sauces to douse the once «health» frozen treat with, sprinkles, nuts, juicy jelly balls, varieties of crushed candy bars, and fresh cut fruits of all kinds… even watermelon! As if picking a yo-​flavor was hard enough. I have never had so many choices to make.

I’ve been on a froyo hiatus, but Yogurt Square has brought my cravings back! The flavor selection is small, but the variety is pretty good… and they have little waffle bowls! My friend and I both had chocolate froyo but our topping choices brought out our different personalities. She went with simple Cap’N’Crunch while I threw in fruit, candy and a wafer cookie. That’s the beauty of self serve places; you can get as much or as little as you want!
After dumping in various fruits and candies, I get to the register and see another display with Fruity Pebbles, sprinkles and other confections. The urge to add to my already sugary concoction was strong, but I resisted!
The yogurt was delicious and satisfied my chocolate cravings, and the toppings I chose complimented the flavor. I’ve been known to make disgusting creations, but I think the toppings were just gross those times. I’ll be back here for sure next time I’m in The Square!

Yogurt Square is located in what I suppose would be the heart of Lincoln Square. This location had closed up for awhile over the winter to undergo a remodeling job, though from what I hear they kept a few things from the old régime including these kooky puffy pink stools. The place is self serve and soft serve, and you pay by weight so don’t overdo it with the toppings! There are plenty of yogurt flavors too, so you can really go crazy with your mixing and matching of flavor profiles (or mismatching in my case). The place seems packed all the time, so you might wind up with people eyeing you while sitting in your high puffy pink chair.
