I live in the Bay Area and was in Chico for a work thing. On my drive up my car suddenly started overheating. I found Boradori’s by chance and am so happy I did! They were able to fit me in on just a couple of hours notice and were so helpful. Mike was great about explaining everything he was doing in a way that I could understand (I’m definitely not a car person!), which helped calm my stress about the situation. They weren’t able to completely fix the problem since it turned out to be a recall issue, but they fixed it enough so I could get back to the Bay Area and have the dealer do the big fix. I couldn’t be more grateful for Mike and his team… they definitely saved my day!

I have taken my car to Boradori Automotive for the past several years and the staff and the workmanship is first class! They are timely, respectful and A+!!! I will definitely tell people about the great service at Boradori Automotive.

I have been going to Boradori Automotive for over 30 years. They have always been courteous and professional, and patient listeners when I describe my car problems in detail. The importance of the latter cannot be understated when you want your mechanic to be able to zero in on the problem while on the clock. I’m all about saving money, and I trust Boradori to listen, diagnose, and prescribe – all at a fair rate. It’s like having a good doctor who understands your needs, and whose patients always come first.

Great shop and staff! Honest, upfront, and trustworthy… everything you need in a mechanic. They’ll get my repeat business and I recommend Boradori to anyone in Butte County. Their location is great too.

I recently took my vehicle to Boradori Automotive for an oil change and check up. As soon as I walked in the door I was met professionally and checked in quickly. I was offered a ride and immediately left. After the check up I received a phone call explaining their findings. I was given options, separately, to determine what amount I was comfortable handling today. I WILL take my truck back to Boradori Automotive and appreciate the professionalism and speed at which they handled me as a customer.

I trust Boradori. I have had them work on my pt cruiser several times in the last couple years, and they have always gotten to the bottom of the problem quickly without gouging. I have never had poor customer service, as mentioned in some of the negative reviews. But, these are mechanics, not receptionists, so if you got your feelers hurt, toughen up. If you want someone to throw compliments your way and make you smile, go to Dutch Bros.

Great service! These guys are all about making sure the customer is happy. They work in a very timely fashion and they keep you updated the whole way. A Solid business that I would recommend to anyone with car trouble. Very reasonable with the price and amazing customer service, what more can you ask for

I do not believe any of the negative reviews are as they say… I am a female with no car knowledge and definitely could be taken advantage of because of that. However, after being quoted what I was told by my roommate was a really expensive price to flush my trasmission fluids I tried Boradori ‘s and they did it for over a hundred dollars less. They also told me that my a/​c was not broken and stuck on cold when the other very highly rated shop said it was and lied to say he stuck it on cold but would need it fixed. I have gone to Boradori ’ s for essentially everything…60,000 mile tune-​up, thermostat, oil changes (last one cost me 5 cents because of their rewards program, which was awesome). Recently, I had a friend install an aftermarket stereo, which resulted in my a/​c not working… it only blew out hot air and they got me in ASAP to fix it since it was so hot out. Never once have I been told I needed something done that wasn’t true… in fact, I was away and went to a tiny shop with excellent ratings for them to simply install a new cigarette lighter. …they barely managed to do that and in the process put fuses in wrong spots and ruined my a/​c because they didn’t know how to put the cover on. I now had my airbag light on, a clicking sound while steering, and my air stuck on cold. I drove back to Chico and told the guys the story… they suspected it might be broken but checked it out, re-​assembled everything, fixed my steering wheel, and did not charge me a penny despite the labor and everything else. I almost forgot, they fixed my cruise control the first time I was there for free because they noticed a rat chewed a piece that they kindly replaced. As for customer service, Jeff and Mike are great… they go above and beyond to help and even have driven me home on several occasions with their complementary shuttle. I have been to about three places with near perfect ratings and have been lied to or had my car come back worse. Everyone at Boradori ‘s know what they are doing… they are truly good at what they do… no other shop has been correct or even competent with diagnosis and repair 100% of the time as well as being fairly priced, great people, and honest. If you want quality, correct work done from great and honest people you should go there… I have learned my lesson from the incompetent shop out of town that damaged so much during something so basic… FYI…I believe this is my first time reviewing anything on Unilocal; they have helped me in virtually every circumstance and were nothing but friendly and courteous!

My daughter took her car there for a misfire. They did a compression test of said one cylinder was very low and that it needed a valve job. They also said it probably needed a catalytic converter and that she shouldn’t drive it because it would do more damage to the car. I decided to do the valve job myself so I told it 350 miles to Atascadero where I live. Before i took the head off I decided to do a compression test myself all the cylinders were within five or six percent. I put the plugs in and the car runs great it just passed smog. They charged 156 and we’re going for 2000 more. They have been fixing cars since 1948 whether they need it or not.

I really appreciated the sense of urgency but also the willingness to fully explain and break down everything for me. I will definitely be back if I need future repairs.

After an initial smog test, we had a commercial vehicle that was a gross polluter. We took our vehicle to Boradori Automotive to get the vehicle diagnosed and get us back on the road. They worked with our schedule, were friendly and fixed our problem thoroughly and quickly. Thanks Boradori for your service and expertise!

Horrible customer service– can’t speak to the quality of work because I would never give someone money to be so rude to me. Had a big trip and really needed an oil change. Spent awhile trying to find somewhere that opened before 8 to hopefully get it done before work. Walked in at 7:30 sharp (when they open) and asked for an oil change and expressed that I had work at 8. They literally just laughed at me and then said it was impossible. Was treated like an idiot for assuming that being open at 7:30 meant they actually opened at 7:30. Won’t be back.

I have taken my cars to Boradori for over 10 years and trust their reputation and quality unquestionably. Although their labor prices are fair, recently i was very disappointing by the price gouging on their replacement parts.
Took my car in for a water pump replacement. As a NAPA Auto Care Center i would expect their part prices would be similar to what the local NAPA store charges. I WAS WRONG. I was charged $ 346 for a new water pump while the local NAPA store sells THE SAME new water pump for $ 135. I was charged $ 60 each for two accessory belts that the local NAPA store sells for less than $ 23. I was charged $ 35 for a thermostat that the NAPA store sells for $ 15.
Will definitely be shopping around for service in the future.

My sister took her 2000 Daewoo here when it got stuck in drive. After telling her it would just be $ 200 because the part had to be shipped direct from Japan as there’s no Daewoo dealerships in California. This was not the issue.
The car was not ready until a week after it was supposed to be done, and they tried to jack the price up to $ 475 for problems that their mechanic caused. Among other things they wanted to drill a hole in the dash to replace a wire that is quite easily accessible through going in the other way. They also tried charging $ 75 to fix a loose wire that they reconnected wrong to begin with!
They do not have my support and I won’t go there again. We got the car back yesterday and while the wire was fixed so the car will shift — now it’s shaking and pulling! This car ran smoothly and perfectly until the wire stopped working. Instead of just replacing the wire that was broken and giving us back a car that worked the way it did before, they made it worse!!!
Don’t take your car here! They are just as likely to break something else even if they do fix what’s you’re taking it in for. Her car ran beautifully before –never pulling and shaking like it does now.

We’ve taken all our vehicles to Boradori for years. They are honest, helpful, and informative. They have kept are older cars going and going.

My college student daughter is driving a 2003 Cadillac CTS that had an engine oil leak and the dreaded «Check Engine» light lit. The Cadillac Stealership charged me $ 360 (even though I only authorized $ 180) to tell me the car needed $ 3000 in repairs before even considering putting it through a smog test.
I took the estimate to Boradori and they not only beat the dealership by over $ 1000, but also identified a misdiagnosis from the Cadillac dealership that would have cost me $ 300 in wasted repairs that would not have fixed the problem. They also managed to throw in a set of spark plugs and an emissions test for that price.
The car runs great. Thank you Boradori.
I trust Jack & his son Jeff completely to work on any of my cars and highly recommend them to family and friends.

I’m shocked to read these bad reviews…
I brought my car to Boradori to «test drive» them. Had a power window that was dead. They did minimal diagnostics to figure out it was a switch; never had to open up the door. Mercedes charges over $ 180 for the part. They promptly found me another part for around $ 50. To the person who complained about the $ 89 to open the hood, anyone in town is going to charge an hour minimum.
So I came in for a BIG repair… broken subframe. Oye. Talk about worried about being ripped off! I did my research and learned that on my car (this is a problem with my model) it’s a 12 – 16 hour job. Plus the part itself is expensive. Karen and Jack explored every avenue for repairing my car. They were never put out or annoyed when I found parts or found info on web sites. They took the time to do the job correctly, and didn’t overcharge me for labor… in fact the price was extremely fair.
I was having a coronary of the cost of this thing, and with every step Karen called me with news. They showed me every part, thoroughly explained every step of what they did, and kept telling me if anything went wrong or if I had any questions to please just call or stop by.
They always gave me the option of a new OEM part or a rebuilt or used part. Again, they investigated every way to do this thing.
I have been on Benzworld several times to see what others are paying for this repair. My deal was fair. Yes, they found some other broken things while they were in there, but I saw those parts and they were DUST. This is a 30 year old car, so I wasn’t surprised.
I hear that others have had troubles, but I’m here to say I had a great experience and will be back with bells on. Oh, and they warranty the repair for a year.

Honesty is not their best policy, although someone (a 3^rd party may have instructed mechanics to lie). If you want your car returned with more damage, this is the place to go. Car was covered in tree sap w/​dirt, tree droppings/​leaves, and full of insects. Estimate contained a few false statements. Forgot to put parts such as battery covers back in place and a few others!
