Chico Dojo Karate Club’s mission is to offer quality training in Kobayashi Shorin Ryu Karate and Kobudo (weapons), a traditional style from Okinawa, Japan. To achieve our mission, each class is taught by a well– trained black belt instructor. We offer instruction to adults and children, ages four and up.

We believe in building children’s self confidence and strength from the inside out and promoting physical fitness all in a FUN and UPBEAT environment! Kids Karate builds self-​esteem as well as self-​discipline, respect, concentration and courtesy. We teach a traditional Okinawa Style Karate that is considered one of the safest methods of martial arts. We emphasize physical control as well as mental development. As the student advances we provide a belt tests & ceremony and invite family to celebrate the accomplishments of their child.

History

Established in 1994.

The Chico Dojo is owned and operated by Mike Evans. Mike has been training in Shorin-​Ryu Karate for over 30 years, and now holds a 7^th degree black belt rank. The Karate student practices to achieve perfect form and technique, striving for excellence. Although perfection is nearly impossible to obtain, the search and the working toward this goal is a true achievement in itself. The path a karate student embarks on, in search for excellence, will initiate the search in other areas of their lives.
