I got my Tourag serviced, spent $ 900 on service. Came back and saw the orange engine light, which was on before the service. Called them about it, they said you never mentioned to check the light. I was told to bring the car back and for another $ 130 they will check why the engine light is on. Such a rip off. I could have got this service done from outside for less than $ 100. They were about all the point checks, bla bla bla bla bla. On the paper they did show me that they checked everything. Such a shame. I don’t trust when people do shady stuff. I will never take my vehicle to them. Beware customers…

We bought a 2016 Mazda CX3 last month. Low pressure and easy transaction. They even sent an employee to San Jose to pick up the CX3 with the color my wife wanted. Wow. A service code came up last week and Willie took care of it in 2 minutes.
These people really care.

I was driving on Highway 99 near Chico on Saturday around 4pm when I heard a flapping noise under my Golf TDI. After finding the local dealer on Main Street in Chico, I expected to rent a loaner and leave the car for service. Rob Mack in the service department informed me they were still open and they’d take a look. Within 10 minutes he returned to explain the undercarriage cover was loose and they tightened it up again… NO CHARGE! If you’ve ever had the misfortune of car troubles away from home, you understand the value of this service. I was able to get back on the road, worry free. Dealing with car problems can ruin your day. The prompt, attentive care that the Chico VW Service Department gave at 4pm on a Saturday was AMAZING! Many THANKS to Rob and his service team! You ROCK!

Strange experience! My husband and I drove an hour to the Chico VW after liking two Passat’s they had listed on their website. When we got there we asked for a salesmen we had talked to a few days earlier and after he came out we asked if one of the cars was available, which he replied it had sold and then he told us he would be right back. A few minutes later a different salesmen came out… I guess he was pawned off on us. He was very awkward to talk to and seemed to not take me or my husband seriously. Yes we are young, but we have money to spend! We asked him about one of the Passat’s we were previously told had sold and he gave us a vague answer about how they still had the vehicle but it was in the service department to fix a recall. I asked if and when it would be available as we really wanted that car… and strangely enough he was very vague and said he didn’t know when it would be available. So we asked to see the second car we have driven an hour to see that was posted on their website, and the salesmen after walking around all three of their lots could not find the vehicle. Couldn’t find it? How do cars go missing? (oh and mind you this car is still on their website). My husband and I ended up saying goodbye and were totally perplexed by the unprofessional experience. I went home that night and emailed their Sales Manager explaining to him our situation, and I have yet to get a response back from him. Nice. Just out of curiosity I ended up calling the dealership and inquired about the Passat we liked that was in for a recall and was not yet available for purchase, and the salesmen told me to go ahead and fill out a credit app for the car, as there was now a waiting list for that particular car. Are you kidding me? A wait list? Seriously guy? My husband and I will never do business with chico VW! What a joke! I also would like to say that their service department in Redding, CA is horrible as well. I had my Beetle serviced their a few weeks ago and the customer service agent Josh was rude and would not honor a coupon that was 2 days past even though it was actively posted on their website. I called his boss and his boss honored it, but seriously people, why make people go through all of this??? VW has a bad name right now, and both of your locations are not helping the company gain any business.

I have no axe to grind with these folks, their dealership is clean and attractive their staff is friendly. I purchased a VW in March 2015, I tried to purchase a car here, but they acted as though there was a scarcity of VW’s, as you all likely know there was no scarcity then and certainly is not now. In any event, I drove to Roseville and saved $ 2k. My car now needs a 20,000 mile service. Roseville quoted me $ 340 for this service, Chico VW quoted $ 440 for the same service! Back to Roseville I go, make your own choice. Unexpected behavior from a dealer who represents a manufacturer who admits perpetrating a fraud on all of its customers, the public and governments world-​wide. I would avoid VW and particularly this dealership.

This is clearly from an insurance agency viewpoint. Few people understand that sometimes their insurance agent needs to call the dealership for information. I called yesterday was told by a very rude Barry that I needed to call back in an hour and a half to learn where the financing was placed for our clients’ vehicle purchase. Today I called back and Barry was going to ‘get me to finance’ but that did not work so he very rudely provided me with some of the information and then hung up while I was saying thank you and trying to wish him a Merry Christmas! Very rude. I have been looking for another vehicle… this is the Last Place I will go!

Went into Chico Volkswagen for the first time since moving here back in January (usually get my Jetta serviced in the Bay Area) my brakes had been squealing for a couple of weeks, and with the weather I wanted to take my car in to get looked at to see if I needed to replace my brakes right away or how long I had before I needed to replace them. I walked in without an appointment with an hour and a half left til close and was greeted by the service manager, Dan who had informed me that most of their techs were on their way out but that he would go look for one that was still there. He came back and told me they were busy, but said he would take a look for me. After about 20 mins he came back and instead of trying to rip me off into replacing them (like most other shops would probably have done) he told me I was good for another 5 months or so. What a great guy! Thanks again Dan!

So I purchased a used VW GTI from another dealership down in Sacramento. The next day over when I try putting in gasoline, I found out that the gas tank door release button is not working! Luckily I didn’t get stranded somewhere out there on the road. I looked up VW Chico and made an appointment with them. Showed up at the dealer and Willy right away took care of me. He asked me about my car etc. I told him if they can’t fix it then I’m not going home because I won’t have any gas to haha. After an hour of waiting Willy came up to me and explained what the issue was. He told me they have the parts in stock and will be willing to fix it right there on the spot. Gave him the thumbs up to go ahead and do his thing. After a few hours of waiting my car was good to go! My dash outlet wasn’t working before and they also fixed that too! Before I got into my car and drove off I notice they gave my car a wash. That’s a plus. That was a good experience for my first time being there.

Went to Chico VW w/​2 specific cars in mind I had already researched. Met Mike who said he’d show me the cars. After viewing the 1^st car I asked to test drive it & Mike told me «as long as you make it fast cause I already have a customer in finance». After quick drive I told Mike why don’t I make an appt & come back tomorrow since you’re busy. We agreed to meet @ 10am next morning. I showed up at 9:55 and waited until 10:30 until another salesman got ahold of him. Mike said he just left his house in Oroville & would be there in 30min. I left & told them to have him call me. He called at 11:35 & was unapologetic and said «balls in your court, do what you want». I came in w/​a pre approved loan & vehicle in mind I wanted to buy. I should have been the easiest sale but apparently they don’t want my business.

Caleb came to our rescue. We were having problems with ad blue fluid and he helped us put it in the right spot. He was super nice to the entire family.

The auto repair shop is excellent. Willy provided the best customer service and JR is such a pleasure to talk with when you need a ride. I am 100% confident in the mechanics. Thanks for taking care of my ride.

Awesome. Caleb was very helpful and accommodating, as was every other staff member I encountered at Chico Volkswagen. Not too pushy, which I really appreciated. I love my new Jetta! Highly recommend this place!

After dealing with several awful dealerships, we stopped by Chico VW just to see if they had any decent used cars. We were taken such good care of! Caleb is the most down to earth guy and never pressured us into anything. We told him exactly what our situation was and what we wanted to pay and he helped us find the perfect car within our budget! We are so grateful for the great experience after many terrible ones.

After expressing my dismay with the service I received, management personally reached out to me to apologize for my experience and remedy the situation. I feel comforted by that fact that management cares enough to take the time to right wrongs, and see all issues through to complete customer satisfaction. When working with Chico Volkswagen management, they were a shining example of the good qualities of customer service that lacked so much in my first go around. They were kind, respectful, transparent in their sales and service, and made it clear that they heard MY choices in vehicle, without instantly deferring to my husband. I guess this truly was just a case of one bad apple spoiling the lot. I’m pleased to say, I’m finally one happy customer!

Just bought a passat from Christy and We are very happy with our purchase! She was helpful and honest and made the experience enjoyable. Best saleswoman around! Don’t waste your time in sac, roseville, or folsom. Go straight to chico for a great car and great staff.

Their customer managers are so great at their job! I live in Santa Cruz and wait to get work done so I can work with them!

Just let me start off by saying I am a mechanics nightmare. I know how my way around an engine, enough to know if I’m getting the ol screw job. I recently had to get the oil changed in my new beetle. Anyone who has worked on this type of car knows what a nightmare they can be. Since I live in los Angeles and I was in northern California, I decided to go with a dealer. The oil pan on a vw is aluminum and can be ruined easily ($ 600 + for a new one). When I was told that I needed more work done on the car I was suspicious at first. But because I have done a lot of work on the car myself I asked very specific questions. Not only did they pass my bs o meter test they bent over backwards to help me. If they work that hard for a customer that they will never see again, imagine what they would do for a regular client?

The women in the office told me that I needed new tires because the tree is low. Inward just getting an oil change. I go to be in Roseville a dew months later to find my tires are perfectly fine! She tried getting me for 890 $! Awful place

I did not buy my car here, but I have it served here.
I bought a used New Beetle Convertible that was purchased new here by the guy that I bought it from. It was always serviced here too. The prices are average for dealer service, and the staff is always friendly and they get the work done on time.

THIS IS A GOOD DEALER FROM A SALES STANDPOINT. THEY ARE THE LOWEST PRESSURE VS. THEIR COMPETITORS WHO USE STRONG ARM TACTICS. IF YOU DO A LOT OF RESEARCH ON THE WEB REGARDING THE CAR YOU WANT AS WELL AS PRICE (GET INTERNET PRICING FROM 3 DEALERS), THEN THEY CAN OFFER A FAIR DEAL if they can match or come close to it.

I PURCHASED A USED MINI VAN FROM Them In June. The sales process went good as I mentioned. They stated they only resell vehicles that pass not only a safety inspection, but also repairs and reconditioning that will not result in local resident’s purchasing money pits. They did recondition the vechile with a new battery, set of tires & complete detail inside and out as well as a few minor repairs etc. But I think some of their mechanics are lazy as you will see below that I had to rebalance the new set of tires due the van vibrating on the freeway, and replace the shocks for the same reason but they replaced the leaf spring shackly bushings which they should of caught.
The van looked nice and fit my budget and they have been in Chico for years, so I purchased from them. Since June here is what I’ve done or had done to the van and I’m sure at least two or three of these they knew about as I mentioned above.
I’ve replaced the following:
Rear shocks — They should have caught this while working on the leaf springs.
Radiator — It had a very small leak when I bought it and they probably knew it.
Rear brakes — This contributed to the van vibrating on the freeway as well.
Rebalanced all four tires as it was done incorrectly when they put on new tires. Again, this was probably due to a lazy mechanic or no quality control to follow up on ones work.
The AC was blowing hot before I purchased the van. They state in an invoice they removed all old freon and refilled. That did take care of the problem for about a month.
New master cylinder — got them to pay for this as it was a safety issue. My wife went right through a stop sign with my kids in the car.
Bottom line, be careful and demand a 90-​day warranty on all parts, not just
a Powertrain warranty which they will offer you. This covers only the engine and transmission.
I am very dissatisfied with their handling of repairs. Thank god the engine has been good so far.
