The doctor was fine during the first visit, but his assistant felt super pushy when I was choosing glasses. I know it’s her job to sell but that was painful.
I was also never told what is actually wrong with my eyes by the doctor just that «the prescription changed.» So imagine my surprise when the ASSISTANT tells me over a voicemail that I have a condition I have never heard that I had before. Great job. That’s a mite different than being told that my eyes are relatively the same but there’s some slight changes.
I was also told that my glasses would take about a week and a half to get back from the lab. It’s been two weeks and I just found out it’s going to be another week. So apparently their lab is super incompetent when it comes to making glasses.
I definitely don’t think I’m going to be going back.

Dr. Laskey himself is great. However, everyone else in the office is terrible. When i first went, they asked me to sign saying I’d read a waiver they never gave me, and were rude when i insisted on actually reading it. That should have been a clue.
A year later i went back for contacts, and they pre-​charged me for 3 fitting appointments. When i tried schedule the first of those, they chastised me for not calling at a more convenient time, and refused to give me the contacts without the training, even after I offered to sign a waiver and told them i was already trained. I have insurance and still walked out $ 200 lighter. Finally cutting my losses.

Absolutely horrible! I’ve been going there for a month now just to get a new contact prescription. Need I say anymore?! I’ve been wearing contacts most of my life and have never had to have so many appointments just for a new prescription. First I was recommended a different brand, which was more expensive and didn’t have the right astigmatism strength I needed. Why would it be recommended then if I can’t get the corrected vision I needed? Beyond me! After a month of going back and forth only to be seen for literally 2 minutes, I’m back to my old brand, which I had already said I was comfortable with. That’s not enough though. I still can’t get my prescription because he wants to see me twice after wearing them. Why??? Every optometrist I’ve seen has been able to do this on the first visit. Save yourself the headache and go ANYWHERE ELSE! Especially if you are low on contacts.

Leaving another review because I just had my yearly appointment and forgot how wonderful this office was. I picked out new glasses with the help of the front office lady, I was nervous because I usually have someone with me for their opinnion but she gave me her honest thoughts about everything and helped me find the perfect pair! I love going to the eye doctor :)

Went here for the first time this week and will definitely go back. Dr. Laskey was very efficient and nice and I cannot say enough about the two office gals they were so sweet!!!

Jerry Laskey Optometry is a wonderful place to have your eyes checked. I’ve gone there for about 5 years now. Always a good experience. I recommend them highly!

First, the ladies that work there are phenomenal and have such a warm personality even over the phone. When I called to make an appointment I was asked if I were having any problems with my eyes, what insurance I have (if any) so they could get the paperwork started before I arrived, and when I’d like to make an appointment. I called on a Wednesday, and they actually had an opening that Friday morning – it just didn’t work with my schedule. So, that means they can probably fit you in pretty reasonably and, my appointment was scheduled for the next week.
Upon arrival, Becki and Donna were just so gracious and nice, handed me paperwork then while I was waiting Becki showed me the selection of frames and helped me pick out a pair. Price wise I’d say they are comparable to everyone else except for the major chains that offer super deals. I also found out the ladies are quilters so that should tell you about how engaging they are, and openly friendly.
Dr. Laskey came out, introduced himself and shook my hand. Admittedly, I like when professionals do this and am somewhat disappointed when they don’t make the effort to introduce themselves and put me at ease. I appreciate the time that he took with me, as it was a first time visit, and did a very thorough eye exam. There was never any pressure and if I asked for him to repeat something, he didn’t hesitate to go through whatever we’d just done again. It was honestly one of the better eye exams I’ve had over the past 4 years – very thorough and didn’t use one of those annoying puffing machines!
While waiting for my eyes to dilate, Becki and I went over the cost of my exam, whether I wanted to buy 6 or 12 months worth of contacts, and then also discussed the cost of the frames and the upgrades to the lenses I wanted to get. I don’t have insurance but they gave me a discount, which is very nice – they also do care credit but I didn’t use it so have no idea how easy it is to use it. Paid my bill and said I wanted to defer a final decision on the glasses and, Becki put the frames in the back with my name on them and told me that would be completely fine. Right then, I knew these people were amazing and I’m definitely coming back!
After getting done with all the examination, they said they’d have to order trial lenses for me, as they just didn’t happen to have my strength in stock. Before 10am the next morning, I had my new lenses and an appointment to return the following Wednesday to finalize my prescription and check if we needed to make any other changes with my lenses. I also purchased my glasses. Contacts arrived on Tuesday and my glasses came on Thursday… pretty fast service!
I absolutely loved my experience here and don’t know why anyone wouldn’t. Obviously, there are some people that just can’t be pleased but, I know that everyone at Dr. Laskey’s office will try their best to please even Grumpy Cat!
Oh, and I do know that if you have an emergency, they’ll try to fit you in. The day of my follow-​up appointment, I had to wait about 15 minutes later than my appointment time because they had someone in with an emergency… they apologized profusely but it let me know that they’ll try to do whatever they can for their clients.
Bottom line– comparably priced to most independent optometrists, amazingly friendly knowledgeable staff, great eye exam and follow up, and just an all around wonderful experience. You can’t go wrong with these guys!

I called on a whim to Dr. Laskey’s office because I am new to Chico and my glasses just broke. I new it was a long shot to get seen and to fix my glasses. I was desperate for I needed glasses to drive. They were not only WONDERFUL and got me in within the hour, they fixed my glasses, and since it has been almost 2 years since I have recieved an exam, they gave me a full eye exam! They are amazing, welcoming and super sweet! :) Thank you to the whole staff for doing that for me today! I really appreciated it :)

Dr. Laskey really knows what he is talking about, I visit a couple times a year just for a check up, my eyes are great! I also referred a co-​worker of mine that was having issues with his eys and he was also interested in getting more information about Lasik. My friend Mike said Dr. Laskey was very knowledgable and made him feel comforatble while answering all his questions. Thanks for taking care of my friends Dr. Laskey!

I have been to other eye doctors but none have been as personable as Dr Laskey. His staff is also very kind and warm.
