Meridian K9 Resort is located on 10 acres just outside of Chico to the north. As you drive in you will get to experience all the wildlife in and about the ponds where when requested the dogs get to swim. You also get to see our rodeo horse mingling amongst the longhorn cattle. It truly is a country setting only 10 minutes out of Chico. We have 24 – 7 on-​site care for your pet as well as flexible pick up times and drop off services.

A few of our specialties include: Spacious private living areas, common areas, outside play areas, temperature control, TV’s, couches (little dogs only), dog beds, premium feed, treats, complimentary baths, exercise times, optional veterinary services, & fresh drinking water.

Wish I could give a zero star. I left my dog here for 2 days and when I came back to pick her up she wasn’t outside with the other dogs. I didn’t think much of it right away but when the owner brought her out and said she was limping from playing in the gravel I was kind of concerned. He said it might just be 1 or 2 cuts and it happens to some dogs so I didn’t think anything of it. When I got home and checked her paws they where very bad. Please please please don’t take your dog here. Look at the pictures I have attached. I wish I could go back in time and never take her here. She is in so much pain that she can’t get up to go to the bathroom! Going to the vet tomorrow morning.

This is the best place I have ever taken my dog. I’ve taken both my dogs over the years and watched this place evolved into a truly «dog resort». Lots of room for my dog to go in and out of the building and making new friends. Terry always gives your dog a bath so he is clean and fresh smelling when you bring him home. Everyone is friendly and professional. I love this place and won’t take my dog anywhere else for boarding.

Terry at Meridian Kennels does a great job taking care of my working dog. His facility is always clean and organized. If there is ever any concerns with my dog, Terry will call immediately. Additionally, he is patient if I call to check in. Whenever I return to pick up my dog, she’s always freshly washed and well fed.

I was very disappointed last year when we left our dog at Meridian. We even took toys and treats, but none were given to our dog. It took a week for him to act un afraid when he retuned home. There are far better places in town that really like animals.

Our two dogs go here on a regular basis when we go to the bay area. I really enjoy this place and Terry especially is really nice! Our dogs never act «nervous» when going to Meridian Kennels, in fact they jump out of the car, run inside, and sometimes pee on the floor… due to excitement?? haha Anyway, everyone is really nice and our dogs always come home clean, which is really nice! I feel they are taken care of and I trust this place with my two crazy adorable dogs! Oh and the farm this place sits on is AWESOME… great environment for any animals.

We haven’t boarded here, but the GROOMER, Sandy is amazing. She use to groom our big, loppy Labrador. Now she grooms our chiweenie exclusively.

A few months ago, we were forced to board our dog more than we like, due to extraneous travel, and despite the fact that we payed for extra outside time and walks every day, our pet developed huge callouses on her elbows from being in her cement cage all day long. The kennels are DEAFENING — with non-​stop barking; definitely not a «low-​stress» environment.
Once, I dropped my dog off in the early afternoon on a Friday, and Terry was already cracking open the beer. It sort of confirmed my sketchy feelings about the whole operation.
The only thing that sets this kennel apart from its competitors is its shiny website…

Terry did an amazing job leash training my dog! He explained to us in detail his approach and was very patient in «training» my husband and I on how to keep up the training. Had my dog not taken to the training in the first few days, my dog would be returned to me with no charge. The price of the training is well worth it, especially when you consider the 2 week stay. Also, if I’m having trouble in the future with my training, Terry welcomed us to return for pointers for no extra charge.
Bring your dog in young if you can, you will not regret it! I was worried that my large dog would one day pull me over or run out into the street, but now I can have confidence and enjoy a walk with my dog. I will definitely recommend him to others and bring our dog in for boarding in the future!

Typically I don’t like leaving my dog with someone unfamiliar, however this was kind of a last minute thing. It was nice that Terry was able to take our dog on such short notice.
There were a couple things I didn’t care for… When we dropped off and picked up was around the time it was supposed to be outside exercise time for the dogs, and I didn’t see any animals outside. Also, on the website and on the phone Terry said we could bring our own bedding, but when we dropped our dog off he didn’t want us to leave her bed. It also didn’t appear that the dog had had a bath, as advertised because she was pretty stinky when we picked her up and I had to bathe her when we got home.
Pricing was very reasonable, I just have mixed feelings.

We have not boarded animals here, but have visited and have friends who love this place. The owner knows animals well, the establishment is clean, well organized, priced appropriately, and has a low stress environment for animals. Wish I could be boarded here.

Terry has a little slice of heaven, here on his ranch just the perfect place for us to leave our four-​legged kids. There are goslings in the lake, horses, and a beautiful dog resort. He was always quick to return phone calls, and very flexible with our vacation plans. I love their set up and will return time and time again. It was really nice knowing our pets were in good hands and made our vacation that much more relaxing.
We left or dogs for a couple of night’s stay and they were romping in a grassy run when we came to pick them up. They were exhausted after all that fun, thanks, Terry and team.
