Quality Inn Near Chico State

I had to give 5 stars because of the hospitality and cleanliness of room but most of all there pet policy. I typically don’t have my old English Bulldog when traveling he is an extremely muscular and over all intimidating looking dog but a huge love bug but at first glance I understand why people would be afraid, I called ahead of time to confirm they allowed pets which they did 50lbs or under so Brutus (My dog) was deff welcomed after checking in she handed me a goodies bag for him it came with a dog food bowl/​water bowl a potty pad, a toy, some poo bags and a ziploc with Wipes in it and last but the best a list of all the resteraunts, stores and coffee houses that are pet friendly or have pet patios as well I’ve traveled in the passed with my Yorkie and it’s hard enough finding pet friendly hotels let alone a hotel who actually has something to help accommodate your fur baby it was the sweetest gesture and I will most deff only be coming to this hotel when I am in town. It nice to be somewhere people are so thoughtful.

Great place to stay! Staff are awesome… friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and the fridge and microwave in the room are an added plus! The morning breakfasts are great! Waffles, danish, bagel, toast, yogurt, fresh fruits, cold and hot cereals, juice and coffee… and FREE! Pool is clean and well kept, and a nice place to relax. Too many «compact» parking spaces makes parking rather tight for the contractors who appear to be stayin here with full sized trucks and trailers.

Decent hotel if you want to be close to Chico State and downtown restaurants and shopping. Rooms are always clean even if the décor is a little old. I always ask for an upstairs room away from the stairs and I’ve never had a problem with noise at night.

Went on March 19^th on a Saturday. Made the reservation a couple weeks in advance on AAA. My son was considering Chico State and we planned to tour the University.
This was a very clean hotel!!! Not a big hotel but I’m not good with big hotels. Too many people, too much noise.
I asked for nonsmoking and was no problem. I was even asked if I would like a upstairs or downstairs room. I opted for the upstairs so I didn’t have to listen to footsteps in the middle of the night. I got a corner end unit at the top of the stairs.
Upon opening the door we were greeted with a newly remodeled room decorated very nicely in warm brown tones. Very tasteful.
My favorite thing in hotels is having a microwave and refrigerator. This place had BOTH!!! Jackpot! My son and I were doing a tour of Chico State so we had 2 double beds. Plenty of space in the room to move around comfortably.
Nice size vanity with full size mirror so if you need to get ready at the same time there was no elbow fighting.
The bathroom was super clean also. Not black mold corners or leaking faucet or toilet.
Free, easy access WiFi with directv so more channels then anyone would need but that’s a great thing.
They have breakfast from 6 – 9:30. It wasn’t bad. Waffles, Eggs, sausage, cereal, pastries juices, coffee, tea, fruits and yogurts. Great for the ones that don’t want to wait for a both at a restaurant. It filled us up.
Hotel was pretty quiet but it was the end of spring break for the college so I can’t personally say it was quiet as it wasn’t a typical weekend but it was quiet. Very conveniently located within 15 mins walking distance of the university, restaurants and shopping.
Definitely would stay here again!!!

quiet back king room for me & Gio for a bird watching getaway from Berkeley. bed fine room clean great shower. very friendly front desk staff, free breakfast. sausage and English muffin yum. plenty of fruit yogurt fresh make yourself waffles etc $ 107 decent price

It’s so funny how people get different impressions.
I asked for a quiet room, which I got. It backed up to the street behind the hotel and the night shade didn’t close all the way so any people, cars could see in. Luckily a previous client had used a Bobbie pin to help keep it closed. The room was small, dark, but serviceable.
But the thing that I hated was that the blanket was an uncovered light down quilt which had seen better days.
No duvet on the quilt. I asked the next morning for a new covered quilt but instead got a different down quilt and new sheets. It kinda gave me the creeps. Pool was small and a little green.
Staff was friendly and accommodating. Location was right smack downtown which was good for walking.
Didn’t try the food. I personally would pick another hotel next time

I’m staying here while a family member is at Enloe Medical Center. This morning I get up to get to the hospital by 5am and there’s no hot water. I call the front desk, «Are you aware there’s no hot water?» Front Desk attendant says, «yes, we are.» «Is there an ETA?» «No, our maintenance manager won’t be in for another 2 hours.» Don’t you think this may justify calling the maintenance person early? The staff at the hotel did think so or didn’t seem to care. Needless to say I got no shower before going to the hospital and no apologies or compensation for my inconvenience.

This was a great hotel. We had service dogs and they each received a gift bag! Very great person working the front desk.

This was a great hotel! We traveled here to see a concert at the Senator. I knew the hotel was close to the Theater but I didn’t realize it was only a 3 minute walk! It was absolutely perfect! The rooms were really clean and nice. The only thing to put a damper on the room was that our window was right up against the neighboring building. Also, the parking lot was really full when we checked in and had to park as far away from our room as possible just to find a spot.
The location is awesome and the breakfast was more than I expected! Eggs, sausage, pastry, bread, bagels, waffles, and more! The rooms were a little expensive but pretty close to the rates at the nearby motels. And this one looked way nicer than them! Plus, you’ve gotta pay for the location I guess. Anyway, I would definitely recommend this hotel. We had a great time with no real issues!
The pool was too cold to swim in but it was March so I guess that’s alright. Maybe next time…

Not too bad for a budget hotel. The bed was soft, It’s close to bars and shops. the TV was huge, but the satellite TV was kinda broke. At one point it got stuck on cheaters the tv show which made me want to kill myself. But other than that it was nice enough.

great hotel. it does get a little noisy at night and the walls are very thin, so you can hear everything! great breakfast and great staff! nice hotel all around :)

Hi, So I stayed here for my sister’s wedding on Oct 3 – 5. I had arrived at 5:30 pm on that Friday and checked in. I parked in the corner in front of our assigned room. My gf and I walked in to the strong smell of weed. I went to the front desk and was accommodated immediately. The hotel was filled with students partying, drinking, smoking and such, which made it hard to sleep. I struggled to sleep but being tired from drive I eventually did knock out. Despite this it seemed like the weekend was going to be fine. We walked to Crush for the rehearsal dinner and came back around 9:30pm or so. I woke up the next morning at 9:30am to head out for the wedding preparations only to find that a truck of some sort had backed into my car, as the tow hitch punched a hole in my front bumper. I went to the front desk where Nick gave my some helpful suggestions on what to do. He mentioned there were 30+ cameras around the facility, which calmed my nerves down. I filed a police report, gave Nick the details and went along with the wedding plans.
On Sunday before departing, I went to the front desk again to speak to Nick regarding the incident. He mentioned that Ashley was the only one allowed to view the video and that she may be in on Monday. I asked Nick if Ashley could call me so we could communicate on what happened. I never received a phone call from her and when I called the hotel on Monday, she had already left. I asked Lee to have Ashley call me the following day before she left. She never called me on Tuesday when Lee specifically promised that she would. I had to call the hotel before she left this time to finally communicate with her. I asked if she reviewed the footage for which she replied with «yes, I reviewed the hours of 12 – 1.» This was not what I had asked and got a sense that she didn’t take the time to look at the footage, merely saying this to appease me. She apologized and said she would look again and leave the details with Lee as she rushed me off the phone. I guess she was in a hurry to go home. Well, she never did tell Lee of her findings. I had to call again only to be disappointed as she claimed that the cameras were of poor quality with poor lighting and too grainy.
At this point I felt like she flat out didn’t care, had zero interest in helping me, and was lying about looking at the footage. Ashley clearly had no interest in helping me to find out who the culprit was. I need a simple license plate number from the surveillance to provide my insurance so I can get the process going. I am a full time nursing student and don’t have the money to pay for my deductible. Especially when this clearly wasn’t my fault.
But it gets worse… I called in the hotel 10 days later (for which I didn’t hear from her about anything) on the 14^th to ask for her superior’s contact information. She supplied an email. I sent an email that night to the owner. The following day, now worried that the footage may be erased or recorded over, I called and spoke to Nick. Having remember who I was he offered to give me the owner’s email. I stated that Ashley provided one already and when I repeated it to him, he said that was HER email. He gave me the email to the owner to which I thanked him.
Now what was Ashley trying to do? Did she plan to «be the owner»? Did she plan to let the email go unanswered? What ever her plans are I don’t know, what I do know is that’s not how you provide customer service. She is supposed to help out, be accommodating and have the best interest in her customers. Clearly she doesn’t care about us, the little people, people, who put our trust in her hoping for safety in return. What if my girlfriend or any other of my loved ones had been robbed, mugged, or raped? Or what if some poor victim down the line has something worse happen to them? What’s the point of having cameras if they are of poor quality??? So you’re telling me that if someone gets raped or killed, the facility won’t be able to help out? Or worse, they won’t cooperate and communicate with the victims. The management of this hotel will completely ignore you and won’t help you, no matter what the situation is. The management will lie to you, brush you off, and forget about you like a dust in the wind. This sounds really comforting doesn’t it?
Ashley deceitfully provided me with an email that would circulate to her. She proved that she is manipulative, deceitful and doesn’t care about her customers who stay at her hotel.
So would I recommend staying at this hotel? No! Would I ever stay here again? Never! Should you stay here? Don’t do it! They don’t care about their customers. Should you ever stay at a Quality Inn or any other Choice Hotel? No! Their response to the matter was right on par with Ashley’s, unhelpful and uncaring.

Hi so my boyfriend and I stayed here for my boyfriends sisters wedding Oct 3 – 5. My boyfriend and I arrived at the hotel around 5:30pm, my boyfriend went in the office checked in and got our room keys. The park lot is extremely small and weirdly laid out. We parked in front of what would have been our room for the weekend but actually had to request a different room due to it smelled like weed and because we don’t smoke or do drugs we didn’t want to stay in the room. Well the office assigned us to another room and this room 1) didn’t smell like weed, 2) it had good furnishings, 3) everything seemed to work, 4) very spacious 5) it was clean. We figured that all these things were a sign of a good room/​hotel. So the first night we really didn’t have time to spend in the room because we had the rehearsal dinner to go to. we leave the room around 6pm-​ish for the dinner and come back to the hotel around 10pm. As we’re going up to around we see a lot of young college kids, we didn’t know what was going on, apparently it was Octoberfest. Through out the night there was ton of noise it began around 12am, then 2am it got louder and 3am and so on, there was a party going on a few rooms down. The party seem to go on all night. Waking up I was sluggish didn’t get enough sleep and irritated, rightfully so (any one would be). Well I’m up at 8am to take a shower and get ready cause I had to get my hair and make up done as I was a bridesmaid. Well the outlets in the room didn’t work that were near the bathroom mirror so blow drying my hair had to be done away from the mirror. So now I’m clean and ready to head out to my appoint this is around 9 – 9:30am-ish, my boyfriend I are walking toward the car and we see that the car had been hit. Things just got worse with this hotel, so my boyfriend heads to the office and was helped by a guy who was very helpful, nice and concerned with the situation. He gave us a lot of information and did as much as he could to help us out. He told us that they keep idea surveillance around the park lot and facility and that he couldn’t look threw the footage but his manager Ashely can and that she will be back during the week. He said he would pass down the information to her and that he would have her give us a call. No call from Ashely we had to actually call her. She wasn’t helpful at all. We have been in contact with her several time with other employees and because only Ashely can help us they told us that they would have her call us back, til this day she has not given us a call back. Terrible customer service, terrible hotel. It shouldn’t be able to be called a hotel because it’s more like a motel.

Great location within walking distance to town activities.
We have stayed here twice now and will return, our last stay was for 5 days. The rooms are clean and look updated. The bedding and towels are nice and the beds comfortable.
The location is quite and the A/​C worked great without sounding like a plane in the room, allowing you to sleep.
Breakfast of you make fresh waffles, two flavors original and flavor of the day– loved the pumpkin flavor, sausage, hard boiled eggs, warm and cold cereal, toast, bagel & pastries. Fresh fruit, yogurt, juice, milk and coffee. Area was clean and select good.
Pet friendly, reasonably priced with a pool and a great ice cream shop next door.

Love staying here everything was perfect I will be back for sure this was a better stay here then the hotel around the corner called the America so I am a happy person thanks Quilty inn for my stay

This hotel should be considered a 3 ½ star ! Super clean and nice rooms ! Awesome service and great location ! It’s got flat screens clean and very comfy beds sometimes when I book through Hotwire I get a room here as low as $ 40 a night. But booking through them is a good deal too. This hotel is nicer then the holiday inn in Chico don’t let the outside older motel look fool you it’s a good hidden little secret ! Cheap and great !

This review pertains to my visit back in the year 2013. I was very unfamiliar with the city so I chose the nearest hotel closest to my daughter’s best friends home. I drove my daughter there so she can visit her while I stayed here.
My experience was neutral. Can’t say it was what I expected but, it was convenient enough for the area that I was unfamiliar with. Shops were very close by within 1 – 2 mile walking distance. The amount I paid a night for that room was not worth it. I know now paying for the hotels of my own personal preference would be worth paying for and the extra 30 miles from downtown. I will not be using their services again although, the front receptionist was very cordial and friendly and their breakfast lobby was clean and offered quite a decent spread of breakfast assortments. — The End —

I’m not a fan of big corporate hotel chains but we needed to find a place to stay while we were in Chico for the awesome Sierra Nevada brew fest and this place was great.
Very clean, nicely decorated, attentive and professional staff, nice little continential breakfast in the morning.
I would stay in a QI again if we find ourselves in a similar situation where only big corp. chains have vacancies.
