We are a private, by-​appointment-​only fine art gallery located in beautiful Chico, California. We feature a large collection of artwork from the 1600s through contemporary including original paintings, prints, photographs, sculptures, art glass, Indian baskets and more. We are certified and experienced personal property appraisers with the International Society of Appraisers.

History

Established in 1972.

Richard C. Frey, ISA CAPP Life Member, a longtime resident of Chico, started his first business on July 30, 1945 with The Stamp Corner, a small stamp and coin shop located at 126 West Third Street in downtown Chico. It was then that he performed his first personal property appraisal on a major local stamp collection. Richard soon broadened his focus to fine art in 1950 and amassed a large, important art collection. In 1972, Richard began dealing fine art, which took him around the globe, spending months traveling and studying. In 1983, Richard joined the International Society of Appraisers, a professional organization for the advancement and education of personal property appraising. He earned the highest level of certification the ISA can bestow (Certified Appraiser of Personal Property or CAPP) through years of rigorous education and professional experience. Richard recently received the honor of Life Member status from the ISA which is only given to two appraisers each year.
