Seriously, Ortega’s Weaving Shop made the Southwestern rugs we saw/​bought in Albuquerque look like some cheap souvenier you’d buy at the airport. Ortega’s hand-​loomed rugs are stunning. The quality of their work is, like, beyond obvious. You just walk into the shop and know that you are in a place that does it right.
They sell rugs, bags, clothes, jewelry, etc. The back room contains the giant looms and there was a woman working there making a rug when we were there. We spoke to her a few minutes and it was obvious they really know their craft here. It is also obviously they use high quality yarn because everything there is flawless and stunning quality.

The Ortegas have been weavers for nine generations, and offer an overwhelming selection of rugs, clothing and accessories. Their work is truly amazing and you can have custom items created as well. An absolute must-​see if you are in the region.
