Working with Glenda Tedrow and Josh at Advantage Properties was a great experience. They were both both professional, provided exceptional customer service and helped me with my concerns in a timely manner.

Not recommended. We rented a home on Ontario for four years through Advantage. As previous homeowners, we treated our rental like our own home, making small repairs as necessary — replaced the kitchen faucet at our own expense, replaced several sprinklers around the yard, repaired a leaking toilet when the wax gasket deteriorated, and other repairs. I could have submitted these repairs for reimbursement, but didn’t because I’m a responsible person and don’t making my own repairs. Despite this, over $ 900 of our security deposit was withheld to make repairs we were not responsible for, to say nothing of the hundreds of $$ in repairs we put in our of our own pocket. I was even charged $ 84 to repair a screen door that was listed as torn on our initial walk through when we rented — paying for repairs that had occurred before we occupied the house. I was charged for drywall damage in the bathroom caused by the leaking toilet, which I repaired on my own. But because I didn’t notice the slow leak (who would have), it was MY responsibility? No thanks!
A company with low ethics. Not recommended.

My rental property was under a different management company when I first moved in. There were small problems about the house we requested to have fixed but they were never fixed. At one point our water was shut off for a day and we are not responsible for paying water. A few months after we moved in our property owner was done with the old company and switched to Advantage Properties where we were introduced to Susan Tedrow. When Susan first came over to meet us, she was very friendly, I mentioned a few random things and she had them fixed within the first week. The past three years we have only had to contact her three times for major problems, each and every time she sent some one immediately. This last week our old air conditioner broke (worst time ever). Susan not only managed to get the unit replaced in a sufficient amount of time but the new unit will cool my entire house and it is energy star! Susan is not only a good property manager she is a very nice person, she is understanding. I live in Grand Terrace in a small rental for now. My fiancé and I have already discussed that when we are ready, Susan will be our first choice for helping us find a home to buy.

The rudest most unprofessional lady in the business!!! If you have to talk to a Susan Tedrow, don’t let her phoniness suck you in. We decided to rent a property in Grand Terrace from her. She asked for an extensive amount of documents from my wife and I which we submitted by fax or email. She said she couldn’t read the fax and that she lost the email. I emailed her again although I got the impression she was just lazy and disorganized. When we finally met at the property (she was late) to sign the lease, she decided to back out because my wife couldn’t make it (she was stuck in a meeting). My wife wasn’t going to be on the lease because her income was not necessary. She complained that the documents were not delivered to her all together and that it was too complicated. I reminded her that she lost most of the documents and that asked for the same information numerous times. At any rate, the property was a dump by our standards. We were just going to live there for a year and save $ 1,000 a month towards buying our own property. These people wasted my time and had no integrity. If refusing to rent to Hispanic people who are far more educated than you and make significantly more money per month than you makes you feel better, then so be it. But anyone with a shred of dignity will stay away from Advantage Properties if they know what’s good for them.
