H Sam Tong, DDS

Dr Tong fixed my old retainer and used it to straighten my bottom teeth. He could have said no and charged me hundreds of dollars, but instead used what I had to fix it very reasonably. He is very nice and I really appreciate his integrity. I am very happy with his work and highly recommend him.

If your looking for an orthodontist for yourself, someone you love, or a friend, then Dr H Sam Tong is the one you want. I have done my research from Bellflower to Riverside. I took my son to 7 orthodontist consultations, yes 7, because I am a very picky parent that wants the best for my son.
Dr H Sam Tong and his staff of employees are the best. They are so nice and they make you feel at home. They work with you on payments. Dr Tong does suggest the best treatment for your case. He is so down to earth, professional, kind, humble, honest, and caring. He and his assistants answer all questions you may have and gives great suggestions on orthodontic care. Their facility is very clean, and what I like most, their office allows the patient and whomever wants to go back to treatment area, unlike other offices I went to.
I have recommended Dr Tong to my friend for her daughter and she too went to another orthodontist and came right back and said I was right about Dr Tong. She said he’s far, but worth the drive. All I can say is… I would not recommend anyone I do not feel is the best for you. Remember, I did my research, you can too, but please let me know if I was right or wrong about Dr Tong. My son just got his braces off a little over a week ago. What a beautiful job Dr Tong! Thank you for being the best all around. You change so many lives with beautiful smiles. Happy Mom! ! :D

I found Dr. Tong after an extensive search for an orthodontist. I’d seen many dentists before and frequently found them to be dishonest, trying to upsell me on things I didn’t need. Dr. Tong came recommended to me by a friend who’s husband and son had their braces done by him.
I found him to be quite pleasant and easy to talk to. He always tells me up front what his plan is, informs me of my progress, and is generally transparent about my care.
His office is clean and state of the art, and his staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and competent. I had specific financial restrictions and they were able to accommodate my needs.
I’ve worked in healthcare for 20 years. Running multiple rooms at a time is common practice in the medical field and there’s nothing unprofessional about the way Dr. Tong runs his practice.
I have two children who will also be receiving ortho services from Dr. Tong and I recommend him to anyone without reservation.

Dr. Tong is the best! He teaches clinical courses at USC, has years of experience, has corrected over 10,000 mouths, and KNOWS WHAT HE’S DOING! Our dentists told us that our son would possibly need surgeries and dental implants to correct his bite. We were relieved when Dr. Tong told us that those would not be necessary. Dr. Tong’s methods are conservative and he saves his patients money and pain. He is gentle, efficient and knowledgeable. He answered any questions and concerns that we had. His staff was also very friendly, efficient and helpful. And this office is immaculate! It’s brand new (less than a year old) and has lots of parking. It’s located at the Chino Spectrum area where you can get lots of errands done. His Chino office is next to the Target. I would recommend Dr. Tong to all my friends and family!

The Chop Shop of orthodontics. He has too many patients that you don’t receive the care and attention you deserve. After all you are paying $$$$ for good patient care.
If there was a rating for negative stars, this is the review I would use it on.
Do not under any circumstances go to this orthodontist. So many bad experiences with him over the course of my treatment that I wouldn’t want my worst enemy to have to deal with this guy.
1) Extremely bad bedside manner. Rude and arrogant. Sure it’s all nice in the beginning because he wants your business and money but wait until you voice your opinion or concerns, then he gets very defensive as if you are questioning his skills and knowledge. Of course I’m going to ask him questions! He’s the dentist and I have a right to know what’s going to be done to my teeth. Plus, it’s the least he can do since I’m giving him a good amount of business/​money.
2) He sometimes drops the wire on the floor when it’s out of my mouth and does nothing more than a simple rinsing before putting it back in my mouth. :shudders: He’s done this twice, proving he doesn’t have the most steady of hands. This may be because he’s always so busy, working on 3 – 4 patients all at once.
3) BTW, if he offers to set you up with the neighboring dentist to do a cleaning, Do NOT agree. They charge an arm and a leg to do a simple cleaning. Always ask about the price before any services are done to you.
Do not go to this guy. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere. He also has an office in Riverside, do not be fooled by a different location.
By the time, I figured out his true nature, it was too late because the braces were bonded on and treatment had started.
Save yourself the FRUSTRATION and find a good ortho.
