Kitchen lighting, fireplace & new flooring. Joe and his crew (Omar, Luis & Jesus) did an excellent job and I am so happy with the results. The crew was prompt, clean and always on time. The work from demolition to finish was without any drama, and I was impressed how the crew cleaned up after each day. Josh’s quote was detailed and no surprises. Would highly recommend Protex.

Last summer we decided to turn the upstairs den into a guest suite and decided on Josh’s Protex Construction. His quote was reasonable and detailed so we knew what’s covered and what’s not. The project went fairly smoothly and Josh was easy to reach if we had any concerns or questions.
Recently I noticed a drip leak in the newly constructed upstairs bathroom and also a downstairs ceiling stain (located right under the upstairs bathroom so I worried about water damage). I texted Josh and got an immediate response saying that he will send out the crew to check out the issues. The crew worked with my scheduled and showed up on time. They promptly fixed the drip leak and after cutting into the ceiling dry wall and examining the sample, determined that it was not water damage. They patched the ceiling piece and now it looks like new… with no more stain!
I would recommend Josh and Protex Constructions to my friends and family.

Josh is honest, professional and a good guy. We had him do our two bathrooms. First one is done and they did a great job. Their workers are courteous and competent too. I’ll let you know how the second one goes.

We have just completed a complete kitchen remodel with Josh and Protex Construction after some water damage destroyed our previous kitchen. They were a pleasure to do business with from the very beginning until the project was completed. They understood we were having to deal with our insurance company due to the nature of the damage and were completely understanding and willing to work with us and the insurance adjuster when needed. We had an 11 month old at the time the job started and Josh and his guys were all very kind to our young one and willing to work around him and the challenges that having a baby in the house caused for them. They were even willing to let out cats out of the bedroom when they were done with work at the end of the day! We were forced to move out of the house while much of the work was being completed and Protex was wonderful about making sure that we were kept informed every step of the way even when we were not there. I received a text or a call every day to update me on exactly what was being done, who would be in my house and when. I appreciated that the workers showed up on time every morning and that work continued on a day to day basis, there were not days when no one showed up to work because they were at another job. I felt like my small job was as big a priority as anything else they may have worked on. The work zone was completely tented off from the rest of the house to cut down on mess and Protex even arranged for the house to be cleaned before we moved back in. Excellent service.
We were equally happy with the quality of the work that was done. Our new kitchen is just gorgeous! Josh was great to help me with the planning and design and the crew carried out our vision perfectly. I cannot believe this is the same space we started in. We will definitely go to Protex for any future home projects.

Josh and his crew just completed a fireplace remodel for us and did a great job. They refaced a very old and dated red brick fireplace with a beautiful stacked stone. They also added an electrical outlet and flat panel TV mount. The before and after transformation is amazing! They arrived on time, completed the job exactly as described, and cleaned up before leaving. I highly recommend Protex Construction!

Josh gave us a quote for construction on a house that we were looking to purchase. He was very thorough and detail about what can be done. We would definitely recommend.

They did a great job on our basement remodel. They built out walls over the cinder block, handled drywall and electrical and did the tile floors. Overall were timely and affordable compared to the other contractors i spoke to. Highly recommended.

We used protex to convert a loft into a bedroom. We chose them because Josh was professional and seemed competent and responsible.
I don’t know if most of these reviews are real but quality professional work is NOT what we experienced. Every step of the way something was done either Erin or was of poor quality.
First, we had asked there be a cutout above the closet but they framed it all the way to the ceiling. They had to patch the holes they made in our ceiling and redo it the next day.
Next-​drywall. What a nightmare! We have a rounded corner that looked like crap until after the third attempt to fix it. We also had a doorway we had closed off and after they textured it you could still see the outline of the door! That was redone, too.
Electrical-​we added a ceiling fan and recessed lights and every time we turned it on the lights would flicker. I complained and they fixed it (but took several hours) and said that I should have incurred that cost but because they wanted to make sure I was happy they would take care of it. Seriously?
But the worst of all was the closet they built. It’s about 1″ too short and can’t even fit a standard sized hangar. We are using baby hangers and haven’t been able to figure out how to reconfigure it to make it work. The closet was built completely crooked too.
Now there is huge crack forming in the corner where their new wall meets the old wall! Nice guys but definitely not quality work. Would not use them again for sure!

Made an appointment for them to come due some work at my house. Appointment time comes and goes. I call them back and they never put my appointment in the schedule. They were very apologetic but made little effort to work around my schedule to try and come back out since I had already been off of work the day it was scheduled for. 2 stars because they were still friendly and apologetic but lower score for not trying to make up for the mistake. Long story short of you book an appointment call and confirm the day before.

We are very pleased with the work Protex Engineering and Construction did in our home! They handled the full replacement of our shower in a professional manner. They proved themselves very competent with our project. We highly recommend Protex!

Josh and Protex just helped up fence our large yard after a fire. They were quick and on schedule with everything. Josh was great with communicating with us and making sure we were happy along the way. Great experience!

Contacted Protex and had Josh come over to help out with an estimate on remodeling our business. While he did come as scheduled and made all the measurements needed, we never received the quote. We followed up each week for 2 weeks with voicemails left and no call back.
Everybody has big or small workloads but the cut on communication (email, phone call or voicemail) was that proved this company or person is not up to par.

I had Josh and his Protex team do a full kitchen renovation, replace some windows, add a patio with cover, add a laundry room and install recessed lighting… I’ve worked with contractors before, and I have to say, Josh is by far the most trustworthy, dependable, communicative and customer oriented one I’ve ever met. If I had questions or concerns, he not only responded quickly, he addressed them and insured that I was kept in the loop and satisfied with the results. I love, love, love my kitchen! What a beautiful job! The lighting (amount of and placement of) is perfect. The patio is my new oasis, and my new laundry room
The fact that I have now turned a critical eye to other areas of my house is a direct result, and a testament to, the amazing job that Josh, Omar and their team did!
A bathroom renovation is in their future :) I wouldn’t want anyone else!

As soon as Josh of Protex began walking through my house to develop an estimate, his knowledge and aptitude for everything shined. Just on this walk-​through, I learned things about my house from him. He also made some creative suggestions I hadn’t considered.
Protex’s estimate was reasonable, but for the moment, we will go with a friend of a friend to do the work, because of the connection. But I suspect that ultimately we will go with Josh and Protex to complete the work when this other contractor fails.
Either through fixing another contractor’s work or through future projects, like painting the interior, we will definitely invite Protex back. How refreshing to find excellence in general contracting!

We added a small loft space to our condo for a new office. Josh’s guys were fast, efficient, and clean. Everything was so easy and it was all over in a little less than a week! Protex also had the best/​comprehensive bid and was the most professional at our meeting. Did I mention how clean his guys were? We love our new office, it looks like it was always meant to be there.

I contacted Josh to help with remodeling my bathrooms and kitchen. He showed up on time to provide an estimate that was competitive, fair and the work was even broken down line by line so that pricing was always transparent.
For the amount of work that needed to be done, I was pleasantly surprised that his crew was able to work so efficiently and quick to get everything completed. The majority of the work was completed in 2 weeks, compared to another contractor that I used on my previous home that took 4 – 5 weeks! Josh was also flexible with my schedule during the holidays, and agreed to shift work around as needed.
During the project, I pointed out a few minor items that I was unhappy with and Josh took care of these without any hesitation or fuss.
All of his workers and subcontractors lead by Omar were respectful and clean around my house, and their work turned out great.
It’s hard to find a good contractor with integrity, so I’m definitely keeping Protex around. Thanks Josh, Omar and team!

I would like to thank Josh and his crew for the fantastic work they did on my kitchen. The new granite countertops and backsplash make my kitchen look phenomenal. I would recommend this company to anyone! The prices are excellent.
The job was completed on time as promised. If any problems come up Josh is easily reachable by phone. I will be using Protex in the future for any projects.

I hired Protex to remove sliding glass doors that were in two rooms and replace each of them with a wall and a window. (The rooms face an atrium.) My big thing with this project was that I needed it to be completed within my very tight time frame (just 4 business days!). Josh promised to complete the project within that time and even completed earlier than promised! Amazing! And the results, such great quality! I am so thankful I found Protex!
In summary, Protex is AWESOME because:

I definitely will hire Josh again and am proud to refer him to my family and friends. He is an excellent contractor to deal with! I would give Protex Construction way more than 5 stars but they only allow 5. :)
