Great Barber Shop. New to the area. Alberto treats you like family. One side of my face grows thicker than the ladder, and he worked with my beard very well. Recommended to anyone looking for a relaxing shave. I will post before and after picture to see what a great job he did. I will be back to Alberto’ Barber Shop soon.

All the barbers here can cut. People go to their favorite one depending on their style, but, in general, it’s hard to go wrong with any one of them. At this barber shop, you get a premium cut at a not-so-premium price. They meticulously cut your hair and, with great care, finish it off with the straight razor. I’ve going here since the 90’s(except for my college years and those dark years when I cut my own hair).

I was referred by a friend to come here and have my son’s hair cut for the first time. It’s a quiet, small and to me a real professional barbershop. It’s not your fancy modern barbershop like at the mall with loud music, I like that. Sadly, I didn’t catch our barbers name but he’s the older Hispanic male 2nd to the last chair. We’ll be coming back regularly because of him.

We started bringing my son here about 19 years ago, and I’ve also become a regular. Armando is our«go-to» barber, who has always been friendly, professional and a fantastic barber. The shop is definitely old school, they do a very good job of keeping track of which customer is next — so all you have to do is relax, choose a particular barber if wish, and wait your turn. The prices are still very reasonable, and I’ve always gotten a great cut. Highly, highly recommend.

Absolutely no priority system for waiting customers. Think you’re waiting for the next available barber? Wrong! These guys will skip over you like you don’t exist.

Have gone here for two years now. When I moved to Chula Vista 3 years ago it took me a while to find a good barber. This place is it. Saturday morning is busy but they will get you in and out pretty quickly. I’ve gotten cut by 4 different guys and they all do a great job. Not going to find a better barber in Otay

I’ve been coming here for over 25 years. Great atmosphere and consistently good haircuts. Old school kinda place but I like it. Saturday mornings are busy but what do you expect? Don’t ever change Alberto’s!

I’ve been coming here since high school back in the ’80’s. It’s your traditional barber shop not a salon. No washing of hair or massages. It’s an old building so not«cool» like a sports themed salon. Get in the chair, get cut, and leave. It has been family run forever first with Alberto but now by Javier(first chair when you enter). Prices have marginally increased over the thirty years I’ve gone there. Right now it’s only $ 15 for a normal adult haircut. They offer senior and active military discounts. You can’t go wrong with any of the barbers there. Javier and Armando(last chair from the entrance) are extremely popular. I’ve seen guys pass their turns to wait for them. I used to wait too but found that the rest of the crew in between are great plus I no longer have time to wait being a family guy. They are very meticulous which I appreciate. They also are great with the kids. Busiest times are Saturday mornings. You can always grab a Slurpee next door while you wait!

Best place on the east side of Chula Vista to get a nice haircut. Everybody in there is good and the atmosphere is really calm. Highly recommend and most cuts are $ 14 – 15.

I just moved and was only staying in Chula Vista for a month so I was looking through Unilocal for a good barber shop and dribbled upon this place. I did not like it at all, my hair did not turn out the way I liked it to be. I was really disappointed especially after reading all the reviews from Unilocal.I give it a 3 just because the guy that did my hair was friendly…

I just move into the area. I checked these guys out on Unilocal.Looked good so I thought I’d give it a try. Amazing work. $ 15! This is a man’s barber. Old school straight razors and foam. I’m usually nervous when I get a cut especially with a new stylist. Normally right after a cut I run my fingers threw to «correct» it. This time not a finger. In fact I had the stylist take photos of the front and sides so I could be sure to get the same cut next time. If you’re a man looking for a great cut at a reasonable price this is the place.

My barber is out of town this week and I needed to get a haircut. After reading all the good reviews on Alberto’s I figured they couldn’t be that bad. Boy was I wrong! The man who cut my hair was a nice old man. I told him what I wanted and he more or less delivered(½ high fade, short of top). When he was done he put gel in my hair which I didn’t ask for because i was going to go to the gym and wash it anyway, but i didn’t want to say anything since he was already doing it. He gave me a mirror and because of the gel my haircut seemed fine. Not the best for fine. I paid the man $ 15+$ 3 tip, walked outside and ran my hands through my hair to get some of the gel out. when I got in my car to take a better look at my haircut i decided not to shower at the gym it looked a little weird. Once home I showered and dried my hair. I noticed that I had hairs sticking out all around where it was supposed to be faded in. It wasn’t bad like when you have to get real close to the mirror and you notice a few spots where it could have been faded better. No, it was BAD enough that i notice it when I stepped out of the shower five feet away! I would have expected something like this from a beauty salon since they don’t do fades all day every day but not from a barber shop. Especially since this place has so many good reviews. Needless to day I will not be going back to this place, not even to attempt to get it fixed.

I’ve been looking for the best barber shop in town which was not too far from where I live. This barber shop had excellent reviews so I decided to give it a try. And, I wasn’t disappointed. My barber was courteous and was very attentive to detail. FYI: Cash only and they give military discount.

I walked into the shop and the first thing i notice is foam and straight razors. Definitely a big plus in my books. This place is as good as it gets. While i patiently sat waiting for my turn, i was entertained by the conversations that were going on, then it hit me! BAMM!!! This place is straight old school, which means quality work and passionate barbers. Just by listening i learned that this shop was family owned and has been up and running for a long time. And as a barber shop, that also means that they have loyal customers and provide quality work. I was completely satisfied at the attention that my barber javier paid to my cut. Made sure that no stray hairs were left and that everything was PRECISION! Lets say that i will be definitely be coming back in a few weeks so that these gentlemen can keep me looking«so fresh and so clean clean» If you live in the Chula Vista, Otay area and have been looking for a quality barbershop, I have found your answer! CHECKITOUT!

Went here for the first time after reading all the good reviews on Unilocal.Everything everyone has said about this place is pretty accurate. I had to wait a little while before it was my turn but I didn’t mind waiting because it showed that they take their time with the customers and make sure their satisfied with their cut. When it was my turn I definitely felt like the barber was passionate about his work. They also finished my edges with some shaving cream and a straight razor. That was the first time I’ve ever got that treatment from a Barber Shop and I’d mos def be coming back here when my hair grows back. $ 15 is kinda expensive for a haircut until you visit this shop. It’s worth it, but bring cash ’cause they don’t accept card.

I lived in Chula Vista since 2000 and would always pass Alberto’s until today. I really needed a haircut and was in the area so I thought«why not» and walked in. First and foremost, make sure you have cash ready since they do not take credit cards. The barber that did my haircut was very professional and did everything I asked for. They even did the hot lather in the back that no too many places do these days. If you’re looking for an original barber shop with decent prices, look no further than Alberto’s.

The best around. Real barber chairs, with real barbers and barbicide(that’s the blue stuff that the old school barbers dip the combs in) Barbers are the best. The icing on the cake is the warm, shaving cream they use at the end to shave the sideburns and neck.
