So, i needed decorations for a Mexican independence bday party… And…i drove all the waayyyyy to chula vista to this place. I was BLOWN AWAY!!!
why did i not know of this place before???
They have awesome fabrics! Endless ribbons, hats, clothing (mexican folklore), and a bunch of other crafty decorative gear… Basically its like Michaels+Joanns+party city had a baby!
Its great if you are a DIY like me, i totally spent like $ 50 and left with a huge colorful sombrero, photo props, zarape cloth, ribbon, lil maracas, tiny sombreros, and more.
I was in there for over 1 hour (couldnt resist looking at every single thing)
One associate in the front of the store cutting fabric was SUPER NICE, sadly im horrible with names but as soon as i set foot in the store she greeted me with a huge smile and asked if i needed assistance (of course i said yes) & she gave me almost a mini tour of where to look, such amazing customer service.
SOooo…if you need any supplies for an upcoming party, id definitely check them out. Prices are pretty good considering i had driven all over SD and didnt want to drive to TJ due to limited time. I will definitely gl back for more crafting goodness!
P.S-there are two stores in Chula Vista, one off Palomar (smaller), one by Broadway close to J st (bigger).

Wow I can’t believe how unprofessional some of the employees are. Talking negative things about customers in front of other customers. Plus, why did I have to wait for an employee who is talking to another employee. What happened to the customer is always first? Oh, but wait, what ever happened to appreciating my business? No thank you, come again, but instead return to their chit chat. Never again!

I am costume designer, amongst other hobbies, so I frequent fabric and craft sores quite often. Fashion Fabrics has been my number one shop, but this is only due to their fabric prices for particular fabrics.
LOCATION: Their location is very convenient, it’s near a freeway, and off a main street. It’s pretty clean, never really a mess.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: The girls who work here are AWFUL. They are rude, very unhelpful, and will try to avoid helping you at all costs.
FABRIC QUALITY VS FABRIC PRICING
Okay, so here’s where everything gets mixed. Half of their fabric is good, and half is bad quality. I normally only purchase their metallic spandex, as it is priced far less expensive than other fabric shops. Their satins and silks are horrible. They do not have good quality lycra/​spandex so beware.
The ribbons are decently priced, you will find some nice ones. The threads are horrible, do not purchase thread from here, even if it’s on sale.
If you want good prices, come here, just do not expect to receive good customer service cause the girls are anything but nice.
