Worst service I’ve ever had, a party of 15 and apparently no tables available, so they split us up my fault should’ve stayed together, during the split are other party was served first and we had to wait a least 10 min and then they forgot one cup of wine… it seams to me that they can’t handle a party of 15 …

Me and my whole family(party of 15) decided to eat Filipis, but split us up into two tables with different servers. Never bringing my family again here! This place can’t handle a party more than 12.

This place is getting cheaper and cheaper every time. They charge 2 dlls every time you ask for a fresh tea bag on your tea refill. Are you kidding me, my tea came out to double the price of a Starbucks? I will never come to this place again. Customer service is horrible. My husband and I have been coming to this location for 14 years and pizzas used to be good but now in the past 2 years everything has gone downhill. The pizzas were known for having a lot of cheese and now they barely put any and the prices are not the most reasonable. Can no longer recommend this place.

I have been coming here since I was little, once I moved near the area my parents found out about this restaurant and this is the location I will only eat at! The pizza never disappoints, the spaghetti and lasagna are always cooked perfectly with lots of flavor and you always get complementary sourdough bread when you order pasta or any salad, really good as well! On lunch they even offer a personal pizza if you want to give it a try! I have been to all locations in San Diego and they are all horrible. Imperial Beach location offers crazy coupon deals and the food is always undercooked. The Eastlake location has horrible service and doesn’t offer the sourdough bread with the salads or pastas… Little Italy is nice but they don’t have Caesar salad and you pay more for such little quantity of food!

I have nothing but love for this place. Food is so creamy and cheesy. Their pizza is loaded with cheese. Good amount of food served, can never finish the entire pizza because the slices are huge. You can order as much bread as your heart desires. I come here often, and I’m pretty sure I’ve been served by probably every waiter/waitress they are all nice and friendly. Good quality food, I am loyal to place, I have never been disappointed.

What a disappointment! In a party of six everyone disliked their meal. Pizza crust was barely chewable, lasagna was bland and no meat inside, chicken parmesan was overcooked. The waiter was the only positive thing about the evening. I should of listened to my fellow Unilocalers and stayed away from this place.

Every Sunday my brother and I order a large fit for a king to watch the walking dead. Tonight we ordered and showed up about 30 minutes later at around 720pm to pick up, we were helped by a shorter Mexican girl who could not find our order. She asked us several questions ranging from maybe you called the wrong place to are you sure you ordered? After more searching and asking the staff in the back she said simply«we don’t have your order». I asked to speak to the manager, this older white lady who’s there almost every Sunday evening we go… the young girl says yeah they say they called their order in but I don’t have it, but they come in a lot I recognize him. The manager says well check the tags that went out maybe it went out… they check the tags and realize our order was given out. I said ok well how are we gonna make this right? To which the manager replies well we didn’t do anything wrong, I say uhhhhhhh so this is my fault? Then out of left field some dbag with a bad beard comes out and says it was a simple mistake I looked at him like who the hell are you. I resume my convo with manager saying this is absolutely your fault, our tag has our name and phone number on it you obviously didn’t check those and just handed out our order… then this dbag chimes in again so I look at him and ask him to kindly shut up since no one was talking to him. The manager took no accountability for the mistake and didn’t even offer us anything for having to wait a whole other 30 minutes for a new order to be made. Will never come back here again.

Our server asked if everything was good one time during our whole stay, but that isn’t the main reason why I give this location 1 star, it’s the food. When I go to Filippis, I expect a super cheesy delicious pizza with loads of pepperoni,(or whatever other toppings you choose), and for the antipasto to be decorated with delicious cheese, olives, and meats! But instead I get an average pizza for it being Filippis, with minimal cheese, prob 3 pieces of pepperoni on each slice, and the crust/dough was extra crispy. The salad wasn’t better either. I always have to ask for extra dressing, and they really give you a bunch of lettuce. Usually there’s enough meats and cheeses for the whole salad, this place gives you enough for half the salad:/ I def recommend the IB location, or the one in Eastlake if that’s closer, but stay away from these cheaper owners who don’t want to give you much for what u pay for.

All my times ive been to filippis in different locations i have never had a bad experience. My seating was quick, my food was awesome my table was allright, my server had great customer service. Thanks once as always filippis my pepperoni pizza spaghetti /lasguana combo for two with a «small salad» was perfect for me & baes even ended up sharing some pizza for the kids while they waited on their spaghetti & meat balls. Baes also got a chili bowl which was delish and our stellas were bomb. I will always come back to filippis whats better than great food, reasonable prices && awesome service!!! Hard one to top off

There should be an option for zero stars! Called in SIMPLE lunch order(small pepperoni pizza) taken by Manager. My name and phone number were collected at time of order. I showed up a few minutes after my order was said to be ready, only to find out my order was not made. In fact, I was told by cashier«the manager forgot.» End Result: Long awaited lunch time at work = no lunch and no time to wait or grab anything else :(

Bad experience with the food getting to my table on time, I took more than 30 min to get my pizza, and the manager never came to my table at least to apologize for the bad service . So sad for the bad experience that we had, no more Filippis for us !! The server did apologize and offer to charge only 10 bucks for a 21 dollar pizza !! I think it needs new management !!

Grandpa Al owns this Filippis since I was a kid. It’s the very 1st Filippis he owned, I believe there’s 12 now but the original is still my favorite. I have many wonderful memories here. My favorite since I was little was the HUGE Torpedo sandwich with Italian dressing on the side and of course SPUMONI after school! Don’t ever forget the Spumoni here, it’s the best I’ve ever had! I sometimes have to drive to the Temecula, just order some to go. When I was a kid my cousins and I would spilt the torpedo because it was to big. It’s very rare if I come in now but if I do I make sure my cousins come along too. We now bring our children with us and tell them the stories of Grandpa Al place and stories when we were kids. It’s a great place for banquets too. I had a few end of the season dinner here for Softball. Most valuable Part of this review which I think is neat. He still has most of his original workers here which is great to see when you walk in.

Yummy! It was only my second time coming here but it’s pretty good. The only downfall, which is kind of a plus, is the amount of cheese. I am from wisconsin so I LOVE cheese… Deeply, I do. This was almost too much cheese for me & I never thought I’d say that. My bf said it the best«it almost choked you» it’s just so cheesy. We had pizza, real good. But my favorite was the lasagna. So good!!! Their bread is delicious too.

Went here last week, Sunday evening around 7pm… The place has tons of open tables, so we were seated right away. Many larger tables for bigger parties… For a place that wasn’t too busy, as a group we were a bit disappointed in the service. Friendly, but not the most attentive. We got our food within a decent time frame, but the continued service was lacking. There was one young guy however, that was friendly and very helpful. I think he was a busboy. The food– Garlic bread and salad, definitely doesn’t taste quite as good as it does in the Little Italy location. It just didn’t seem as fresh and the dressing didn’t give it my flavor. Same with the bread. It wasn’t as hot and toasty as my memory tells me it should be. The bread was a bit chewy.(Update, went here again a few more times, and I was content with their salad)… Their pizza however, never disappoints me. When grabbing a slice, all the cheese/topping kept sliding right off the crust! But that’s okay. It was hot, cheesy, saucy, and yummy. Classic crust. The lasagna with meat sauce is also one of our favorites. A generous portion. Lots of cheese. Lots of sauce.(We also like ordering a meatball on the side). I prefer the DT location. But this is a good enough alternative if you choose to stay down south.
