Horrendous communication and customer service. Rude service. Had a fair amount of issues which were brought up weeks before the service but no one actually listened to my concerns. Then they tried to blame me! Stay Away!

Used them to get an inspection for the new buyer.
They showed up an hour and half early with no notice. Not okay and extremely unprofessional.
Their termite «inspection» consisted of taking a long stick and pounding on my house and creating holes that didn’t exist before. While showing me his «findings» he’s shoving/​digging his pen into my home creating a hole. What the heck? Even if his inspection had revealed something worth repairing/​treating I wouldn’t use them. Super unprofessional and I feel like they create «problem» areas to create business.

He did a very detailed inspection of our home and pointed out areas that needed to be replaced due to termite damage. Explained process and completed the work quickly. Unprofessional, unethical business and waste of a lot of $$$. I got stuck with this company during the escrow process. The termite fumigation that I received failed, and within three years, I had termites coming into my daughter’s bedroom (droppings along the wall and piled on the carpet!). When I questioned them repeatedly about how a fumigation could fail when it is suppose to last at least 8 – 10 years, they told me the company that they used to tent/​fumigate were cutting corners and not using enough gas, so multiple fumigations had failed. Even though they were fully aware of this problem, they did not provide me with a free second fumigation. I had to move my family out of my home and spend money on a hotel again, prep for another fumigation, and pay for the same service again when it should have been done right the first time. As well, they put a three by two foot hole in my deck and did not even apologize, provide referrals, or any compensation. In summary, I paid this company to provide me with more damage to my home. I write this review in hopes that this does not happen to anyone else.

We are in the process of doing a VA refinance and we needed a termite inspection to complete the process. We initially contacted another company to inspect our home and they found signs of termites and some wood root damage.
We contacted GC Termite Control to get a second opinion and I’m sure glad we did. Andrew Cortez inspected our home and confirmed the original findings, however it came to GC’s and our attention that the original company did not inspect under our home (we have a sub-​floor) and signs of subterranean termites were discovered. Maybe the other company was not required, in a hurry or lazy, I don’t know. As the home owner I want the piece of mind that work was done right.
Andrew worked with our schedule and was able to treat the termite issue and make the necessary repairs in a timely manner. All for a price that was less than the original company’s quote. We received our inspection clearance within 24 hours or work completion.
I would highly recommend Andrew Cortez and GC Termite Control.

This company is by far the best around for termite control! I recently purchased a home and discovered there was a termite issue. I had a total of 4 companies inspect and evaluate the problem. Andrew from GC termite was the only one to discover that there was a beetle problem in the attic too. He is super thorough, very professional and an expert in the business. We had a limited amount of time to get the repairs done, but Mary, the office manager was very kind and was able to work around our tight schedule. I hired Andrew and his team at GC Termite for the repairs and fumigation and we are very pleased. Their quality and pricing exceed all other companies. I highly recommend this business to everyone. DO NOT do business with Andrew, or his company, GC Termite Control. The quality of work is extremely poor, they do not stand behind their warranty, and they make false claims in their advertising. They do not seem to think twice about damaging customer’s property and then denying responsibility.
GC termite control was hired to fumigate and make structural repairs to my home. They contracted out the fumigation, but did the structural repairs themselves.
In making the «repairs» on my home they damaged my roofing system in multiple areas and initially refused to do the necessary repairs. The roof repairs would have cost up to $ 1,500. The work they did on the wood pieces was extremely poor. Wood cuts where bad and large amounts of caulking used to hide the poor cuts and poor workmanship. They did not match the type of wood or the custom cuts.
They walked away from the job prior to completion and have since been cited for several violations by the California Structural Pest Control Board. The board pressured them to basically do the entire job over and hire someone to fix the roof.
Again, DO NOT do business with Andrew, or his company, GC Termite Control!

I’m writing this review under my girlfriend’s account. Shout out to Andrew Cortez for doing a very thorough inspection and being very professional. Overall Andrew had great customer service. He really tried to listen to all my concerns and he didn’t try to sell extra unnecessary work. I got my termite inspection report within a couple of hours while some of the other termite companies took 5 days!

I highly recommend GC Termite Control. I got a call from my lender that we were doing final docs on a VA refinance Thursday, not Monday and needed a termite inspection before Monday. Freaking out, I called GC Friday and Nicky was great. She assured me she would take care of us and would be able to get a clearance report before then. Since I had to work Friday and Saturday, she was able to get Andrew to come on his day off Sunday to help. Andrew was as customer friendly as Nicky and was great in explaining everything. Much to my relief, he found no infestation and they had the report e-​mailed to me that same day. I’m so grateful that there are still businesses like this that care about the customer and go the extra mile.

We had a refinance and needed a quick turnaround on the work. They inspected on a Friday and completed the job on Sunday.
The two man crew did a good job repairing the damaged areas fairly close to original condition. They resolved all the issues I raised w/​o questioning or getting defensive, and did a great job cleaning up afterward. They were both professional, very pleasant, explained what they did and why. The paperwork my mortgage company needed was emailed promptly.
On the down side, I thought their price was too high, but I didn’t have the luxury of time to seek other estimates. Just make sure you shop around first.
If price is not a concern, use them; you won’t be disappointed w their work.

I called them because I needed a termite inspection within 24 hours and the termite report/​clearance fast after the inspection.
They got the job done fast (it probably helped that my listing was closeby also in 91 913).
They should’ve used the allowed $ 300 credit towards termite, but they only charged $ 95.

This review is so long overdue… in short, GC Termite Control rocks. Call them first.
When we bought our house last year, it had to be tented before we could close. We went through a few termite companies before we lucked out on GC. Rather than unleash a litany of complaints about all the lousy companies we interacted with before finding GC, I’ll tell you how GC set themselves apart.
First off, they (Andrew, to be specific) assured me they could tent my house without enclosing the surrounding plants thereby affecting a death sentence on the landscaping. I’d already had one company actually tear out some major/​large/​established plants just to get a look-​see at the job. (Part of this blame falls on my realtor for hiring such jackasses and not telling us they were headed over to the site, but that’s another story…)
A couple other companies said the plants would have to be enclosed too. One guy was supremely annoyed that some uppity woman would dare to bring up research she’d found online that said the plants could be spared. Anyway, back to GC…
Not only did Andrew drive out to my house within a couple hours of calling him, he climbed all around the undercarriage of the structure to look for signs of subterranean termites. No other companies would do this. They said the dirt mounds under there (left by the previous owner’s pipe repair job) prevented them access to that space… and yet Andrew was able to climb in there and determine there were no termites (but that we’d definitely need to level those mounds to prevent a future infestation). Honestly, I think the other guys just didn’t want to crawl under the house. 1) It was inconvenient and 2) it would be a tight fit… not because of smallish dirt mounds but because of large-​ish beer bellies and a heavy dose of indifference. It definitely pays to have a fit, nimble, industrious person doing your termite inspection.
The other thing about Andrew (and GC in general)…the customer service is excellent. Andrew, specifically, has a very calm, patient and reassuring manner. Instead of being annoyed with questions, he calmly answers them. And most importantly, he/​they actually follow through on what they say. For example, due to neighbor concerns, we had to treat my garage locally instead of tenting it. A few days afterwards, I called Andrew in a panic because I saw termites flying around the garage near the windows. My fear was that the local job did not work. He explained how the termites were flushed out by the chemicals injected in to the beams and that they were essentially in their death throes, that after these flyers, I shouldn’t see anymore. But he came out the same day anyway to treat the garage again because he knew it would give me peace of mind. Sure enough, after the flyers croaked, I didn’t see anymore termites. That was a year ago.
Although I primarily dealt with Andrew, I have something nice to report about his father (the owner of the company, I believe) as well. I recently bought some vintage furniture, only to discover (too late) termite damage. So I called up GC. Got the voicemail. I tried again. Still no answer. Within 15 minutes, the owner called me back (even though I hadn’t left a message) and I told him the situation about the infected furniture. They aren’t licensed to treat furniture, but he gave me what advice he could and even patiently answered my follow-​up questions the next day, even though I hadn’t identified myself as a previous client. Pretty dang nice to help out a «stranger» with no chance of profiting.
For good measure, I will throw in one sort-​of negative thing… the company they outsourced the actual tent job to – GC did the inspection and wood repairs at the house, but a third party did the actual tenting – when they first rolled up, I had my concerns based on their, ummm, «rough» appearance. But they did an excellent job and didn’t kill/​damage a single plant – when everyone else said the plants were too close to the house, they’d have to be enclosed.
If you want people who are respectful and patient with your questions/​concerns, take the time to explain everything to your satisfaction, respond quickly (not just in a timely manner) and who do what they say they will do (like not kill the landscaping!), not to mention give you an extremely competitive quote, then call GC Termite Control.

GC Termites is family run company that takes pride in what they do & also guarantee their work. It’s really hard to find companies that you can trust. I have been a Realtor for over 7 years and have not found a company better dedicated to customer service than GC Termite Control! They are full of knowledge and very easily reached to speak with customers regarding the pesky termites and how to get rid and prevent them. Highly recommended, give them a call!
