Deserves 0 stars!!! Called and was told to just walk in, did that and was told to make an appointment for tomorrow because they werent taking anyone in when they close at 6? False information!!!

Easily the best eye dr I’ve ever been to. Almost no wait time, friendly staff and Dr. Huang was super friendly and informative. Best part… no air shooting at your eye!

Very nice and friendly place to get your eyes checked. Needed to get myself fitted for contacts. Dr. Huang asked me a few very simple questions and my preferences on size of contacts. He gave me a pair of Acuvue 2’s to try out for 2 weeks. They were too tight and I asked for 8.7 instead of 8.3 and gave me a prescription to order them because they were out. The appointment was fast and now I’m wearing contacts again after three years. Would recommend to anyone looking for a friendly and helpful place for contacts or glasses.

Dr. Huang is an amazing eye specialist. I have been coming here for 5 + years. He is very sincere and truly cares about your vision and does whatever it takes to make you see as best as possible. The front desk is friendly and the location is clean and equipped with the right tools. I truly appreciate his work and help he has given me.

My first visit here was very pleasant, front desk receptionist polite and friendly, Dr. Hyuang was so helpful very easy to talk. Good location easy to find.

This place has the best eye glasses selection for every price range. I recently checked out another place thinking it might be better but I was wrong. Good thing I came back here and got exactly what I wanted. I had many options to choose from and found it hard to decide, which was a good thing. :) I’m so happy with my pick!

Definitely a five star service! She was so super nice, changed my nosepads for free and gave us great advices for nice places to see. If you need a optometrist in San Diego, that’s the place you should go to!

I was in a car accident where my car got rear ended. The next day I was shocked to notice that my left eye had some bleeding in it. I did not look good and it felt like I had been punch. I work in the South Bay area, so they are close by. Now the reason I went to them is because of all the good Unilocal reviews and because of the friendly helpful service I received from the phone call. I told them my story and they were able to schedule me in that same day. I walk in for my appointment, the front desk staff was professional & friendly, filled out some paper work, and minutes later I was greeted by the Dr. Huang. He was caring, he listen, he seem very detail & knowledgeable, and explained to me the results of my initial eye exam. My left eye was still too bang up and still had swelling, so he advised me to come back for the complete eye vision examination after a week. I was even surprised that he gave me an additional discount on my bill, so I will be coming back for sure. Here what I rec’d from H St Optometry: friendly, quick, helpful, and great professional service.

I didnt have an oppointment and they still saw me as a walk in.
My only gripe is that they didnt have a good selection of glasses for «Fat Heads» haha.
Overall I was still happy with my purchase and service and i would come back again.

Five star service here all around. The front desk staff are very helpful and the doctors are good listeners, thorough and genuinely care about their patients. I’ve been getting glasses and contacts here for about 3 years and have never had a less than stellar experience. Highly recommended.

Walked in on a Saturday afternoon and had my glasses adjusted to my face free of charge within a matter of two minutes. The staff was friendly, present, and attentive. I hadn’t even bought the glasses from them, but they provided excellent service without questions.

Get your eyes Checked

It just does’t get any better than H Street Optometry. The doctors, the optician and the receptionist all demonstrate knowledge, competence, patience & courtesy to the Nth degree and in a warm, welcome, attentive, friendly, professional atmosphere. The doctors are very thorough. They patiently respond to your questions & concerns with very intelligent, understandable replies.

My mom has been complaining about her glasses for about a year now, she said they made her dizzy and she couldn’t wear them for extended periods of time for nighttime driving. NOT OKAY!
I decided to give H Street Optometry a try because of the awesome reviews and also because they have been in business forever and thats something I can trust!
I called for two appointments back to back for me and my mom for a Saturday… by the way, Saturday appointments??? Already a winner in my book! The office staff were very professional and courteous asking us if we had any specific concerns, any surgeries we had, etc. I appreciated that because they are taking the time to get to know their customers, especially since we were brand new clients.
When we first arrived I made the wrong turn and didnt realize the parking lot was in the back so if you are dumb like me, let this review guide you to the back of the office, where there is ample parking lol
We filled in two new client forms and waited only about 5 minutes to see Dr. Nguyen. She saw my mom first and I went with her to say hey my mom is in distress, help my mom! LOL exact words. She did the full exam on my mom then checked out my mom’s glasses and said yeah I understand why you are having issues. She ended up creating and ordering an entire new set of glasses for my mom and we had fun picking out the frames. I must say the frames here are way better than some dingy ass optometrists where everything is all yucky and for OLD people. You know the type of frames I’m talking about!!! My mom’s frames were fresh, I would’ve worn them if I needed glasses hahah
Then it was my turn, so she took me back and did the full exam on me too, I have had LASIK so she was just checking to see if my vision has maintained its perfection! I also have a history of glaucoma in some of my grandparents so I have to be really stringent with my eye appointments.
One thing I CANNOT stress enough when it comes to Dr. Nguyen is her attention to detail. She is up to date on the latest information and has the coolest equipment, (she doesnt do that weird ass air puff test… she does something way easier and more accurate imho) and also takes pictures of your eyeball, like INSIDE it, and then monitors it with each appointment you go to so she can identify if there are any changes. I have to stress this because once your eyes start to deteriorate there is really no fixing them, its just a steady decline. So if you can monitor things and catch them early you have a much better chance of preserving your eyesight in the long run.
I am VERY VERY picky when it comes to anything to do with my eyes as you can see my extensive review of Dr. Tooma and his laser eye surgery, and I would never bring my mom somewhere that I don’t completely trust. When she picked up her glasses at the office a week later she called me to let me know they were AWESOME and she no longer gets dizzy. YAYYYYY!
For the fellas Dr. Nguyen is also really really pretty. LOL don’t tell her I told you!

*****Dr. Huang himself deserves the 5 stars. He tries his best to help you out and is very detailed. He answered all my questions and even referred me to a specialist to inquire about laser surgery and provided me with contact lenses that I could try out. Great person and doctor.
Because of him, I switch my rating from 1 star to 5 stars.

Everyone else deserves ZERO stars (rude lady in the front desk and scary lady who helps you pick glasses, get as far away from her as possible).

Came here to get a second opinion for my 4 year olds eye exam. The Dr and staff are very friendly and have great customer service. Very detailed and explained the reasons why it was important for my daughter to have her glasses and correct her vision. Very knowlwdgeable with their products and helpful in picking out the right frames for you. My little one is shy but these ladies knew the right way to approach and help us find the right pair for her. She was a happy camper after receiving her Disney Princess eyeglass frames and so was I !

I went here on a recommendation of a friend who is an optometrist up in SCCO in Fullerton, and it was great! Dr. Nguyen is personable and the staff is very friendly… it’s kinda funny, one of the staff Lydia was rather apologetic about the price of the glasses I ordered, a pair of prescription glasses and a pair of sunglasses. Rosa also is very nice too. The total retail would have been close to $ 1000, but I ended up only paying $ 330 or so. (Props to VSP insurance also!)
It’s a rather small shop, but maybe that’s what makes it so good because it has a comfortable family feel to it, rather than some of the larger optometrists I’ve been to. Despite that, I quickly found 2 pairs of glasses I liked and ended up buying!
I also echo the other Unilocalers that this is an honest establishment for sure. I did not know that my old pair of glasses’ lenses were still under warranty because of the anti-​glare coating, but Lydia informed me about that, so I took my glasses back to SCCO and it’s like I have a new pair all over again!

They were able to book my appointment and see me last minute. Dr Huang was very professional, thourough, helpful and quick. He provided me a prescription for contacts and glasses the same day. He even gave me sample contacts to wear immediately. I ordered my contacts and they were shipped to my house directly! No need to pick it up! Dr Huang and staff are awesome! I recommend this office!

Dr. Huang and his staff are wonderful! They have been so helpful, patient and kind every time we call or go in for a visit.
Dr. Huang is a great doctor, very conscientious — he really takes his time with you, his exams are thorough and he’ll explain whatever he finds until you completely understand.
My husband and I only started wearing prescription glasses about a year and a half ago. Boy! what a challenge it was to get adjusted to our new lenses. Dr. Huang told us to come in after we wore our new glasses to make certain we were comfortable with our prescription and we were satisfied we had the corrected vision that we expected. We were made to feel at ease every step of the way. His staff also gave us great treatment — I just love Lydia, she’s a sweetheart!
I have found they have a really nice selection of frames for women and the selection seems to improve every time I go in.
The men’s selection has also improved since we first started going there and my husband has a, well dare I say — a big head! LOL! so it was a challenge to find stylish well fitting glasses but they found him a very handsome frame and Mark was very pleased (me too — whew!!)
It is nice to know I don’t have to drive all the way out to La Jolla to find a great optometrist with a great selection of frames :-)
