Maile’s Nails

I called almost closing time and I was able to get my nails done. As soon as I arrived I was greeted by the nice lady that I found out later that she is the owner. My nail tech was Lora and she did an amazing job. I provided her with a picture of how I wanted my nails and she delivered it. I’m coming back again.

Not the cheapest around the block but I just got the best foot massage ever! I get my money’s worth for a spa pedicure can’t say the same about the manicure girl who left crease lines on my nails. I come here because it’s convenient on my lunch break and they can get me out of here in an hour with a great job! They have a good selection of colors and the ladies are courteous. The place is pretty clean and there’s plenty of street parking on third ave. just don’t forget to feed the meter! Not my first time here and overall I’m always satisfied with their work.

I have gone to so many different places to get my gel nails, this place is just the best in Chula Vista. Everyone is friendly, professional, and the owner is the best

Came in here for the first time. The people were very nice and Lucy did a beautiful job on my gel manicure. Definitely recommend!!!

This place is pretty chill. I brought in my younger brother for his first pedicure. They seated us as soon as we walked in. The women were extremely friendly, professional, and efficient. They did a very thorough and meticulous job, especially cutting down my brother’s nails. It was reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend this place to other people, and come back if I’m in the area.

Terrible service. I was treated terribly and the nail technician filed my nails with anger and cut my nails without me asking to do so. I only asked to have the gel color taken off and they were mad because I was not getting anything else done. They cut me and I saw them taking soiled instruments to use on another patron while I was there. NEVER going back!

If I had a good visit to a nail salon in the past, I would feel inclined to write a positive review immediately. However, I realize that it would often take numerous visits to the same nail salon in order to get a true sense as to how good their services actually were. So, with four trips to Maile’s nails under my belt, I felt that it was now time to write a review.
I found Maile’s nails via Unilocal,and decided to give them a try. I was short on time, and this location is about five minutes away from my home. I walked in to get a quick manicure before my trip up to Disneyland. When they quoted me a 30 minute wait, I thanked and attempted to leave. They apparently wanted my business, so they told me they would be able to do my nails immediately.
The manicurist took her time, and I was happy with how my nails looked upon leaving the salon. They were a light green, and even after two weeks, the polish was still in really good shape. At the previous nail salons I’ve been to, the lighter colors start to show what appear to be cracks in the polish towards the tip of the fingernail. This did not happen with this polish, even after three weeks. Nor did the polish lift at the bottom, which is something I’ve found fairly common with all the other nail salons I visited.
On my next trip, I got a gel manicure along with a basic pedicure. Both the manicurist and pedicurist took their time. My only complaint is the angle in in which you have to sit when you’re at the manicure table, and getting a standard pedicure (in a tub).
However, my nails turned out great, and my manicurist was very patient with me. While she was doing my nails, I noticed things like little hairs in the polish on my nails, or bumps under the polish on another. She patiently removed those things, which resulted in my fingernails looking great.
As with my last manicure, the polish lasted approximately three weeks, with only my thumbnails chipping, which I didn’t think was terrible. Again I had chosen a lighter polish, and as with the last time, there didn’t appear to be any cracks in the polish that I could see.
I got my nails done last Friday, and it had been another three week period in between manicures. I had chosen a lighter polish again, and this one was really challenging to get even. The manicurist finally suggested that I choose another color, and removed all of my polish that she had just spent about 20 minutes applying. She told me she wanted my nails to look nice, which I appreciated.
I like Maile’s Nails because not only do your nails look great when you leave the salon, they’ll look great a week later, two weeks later, and really even three weeks later. They are the only place that I have been to where the gel manicures truly last as long as they claim they will.
I don’t get anything elaborate on my nails, so I can’t speak to that. But for a basic gel manicure, they beat any place that I’ve gone to, and this includes Tina’s nails on H St. in Chula Vista, Beauty Lounge and Tippy Toes in Hillcrest.
Since the nail salon is located in downtown Chula Vista, be sure to have money to feed the meters, and I believe they do prefer that you pay in cash, although credit cards are accepted. Their prices seem comparable to most other nail salons; perhaps even a little less costly. If you’re in the area, I definitely recommend giving them a try. Also, if you’re planning to go on the weekends, make an appointment.

I really like this place its so inexpensive & clean. I had a spa pedicure done for only $ 22! The foot massage was great, so relaxing i almost fell asleep lol … Definitely going back. I did not get any special design or nail polish but i like how it was applied. I recommend.

I wanted to get my nails done last minute and saw the good reviews on Unilocal.I dropped in and they were able to take me within 5 mins. I didn’t even get a chance to look at their large gel color collection!
Leann did a great job on my gel nails. She gave me a nice manicure, cleaned up the cuticles and ended with a lovely hand massage. Total $ 25. I will be back to get a spa pedicure from them as well.
The salon itself was clean and tidy. I didn’t feel like I was being rushed. The place was calm and quiet other than the soft conversations between clients and technician. I appreciated that especially for a Saturday midday. Sometimes salons can be too busy and loud for me. I just want peace and quiet when I’m trying to relax. :)

This has been my go to place for nails for the past 3 years.. .
I love their nail polish choices, they even have OPI colors to choose from.
Leann is my favorite!
But all the other ladies are very friendly and sweet as well.
I’ve tried most services that they offer, from waxing my eyebrows and getting full sets, to getting SPA pedicures (my favorite!)
I really enjoy getting my pedicures here, they give awesome foot massages (10 minutes long)
They also give great service and like a lot of the other ladies have mentioned you don’t feel judged here at all :)

It’s tough to be a Steelers fan in a Charger town. But when I came here to have a Steelers paint job done in time for a trip to Pittsburgh, the staff came through like champions!
Rose actually did my fill and she didn’t just «do» my nails, she CRAFTED them. They looked great and was worth the nearly two hours it took to get them done. If I had been in a hurry that day, I probably would’ve started getting antsy at the slow pace but it was worth the time and effort she put in. Linh did the pinstriping and logo design and worked from a small copy of the logo I’d brought in. Again, lots of attention to detail and she took her time to get it all just so.
As mentioned earlier, if I had been under time constraints I’m not sure I could have afforded the 2.5 hours it took to do this, but since it was a special order, so to speak, I just let the gals there do their thing. Very affordable and great artistry. BE SURE TO BRING CHANGE TO PLUG THE METERS!!!

I was in the area and decided to look up a nail place for a quick pedi. Found this place and decided to go for it since the reviews were 4 stars and higher.
Best pedi I’ve ever had! The girl was friendly and massaged my legs for 10min or more. I was seriously falling asleep because it felt awesome. I’ll be getting my pedis here from now on (:

Mailes nails is the best love doin my nails with Maile herself she leaves my nails lookin great and thin love that. They have the best pedicures as well soooo relaxing

I was driving around Chula Vista looking for a nail place to try so of course I relied on my handy Unilocal app and started searching. I came across this place with only 10 reviews BUT mostly all 5 star ratings. I decided to give them a try and boy am I glad I did. I called and was able to make an appointment for 30 mins later. I can’t believe how many times I’ve drove right by there and never took a second look. The business is right by fuddruckers in downtown Chula Vista 3^rd ave. They have a bunch of polishes and designs displayed on their glass so it’s easily seen from outside.
Upon first walking in I was pleasantly surprised when only one nail tech asked me what I needed (instead of EVERYONE and they momma staring me down and all asking for what I needed like it usually happens when I go to any other nail place). The girls I did speak to were super friendly and i got sat right away. I got Ronny (I think that was her name) as my nail tech and she was awesome! I got a full set of acrylics with slanted glitter tips. She took her time to make them look very pretty and I was very pleased with how they came out :) price was reasonable, $ 40 :)
I will most definitely be goin back in the near future.

Fabulous people — bottom line. They’ve been here for a long time and are always supporting their local community!
Pedicure — what is not to love?

I saw this place and thought I’d give it a try. I had the spa manicure and spa pedicure. The lady who did my pedicure was awesome! My toes looked great and I foot felt really relaxed. The lady who did my pedicure was just okay. I wasn’t paying attention to how she had filed my nails because I was so relaxed but after wards when I was done I looked at my nails and she really ruined the shape and structure of my nails. This was by far the worst manicure I’d ever had and her quality of art was horrible. I could polish and paint better designs on my own nails. However, the lady who did my toes was really good. I that the massage and what the spa package came with was a good deal but the quality from the lady who did my hands was just plain bad. So overall I’d give this place a 3 star because it really depends on who you get.

Maile’s Nails is top notch! I got my nails done there by Maile herself, and she’s SO friendly and she really is interested in the things she asks you. I paid $ 25 for my prom manicure, which was just a basic french acrylic manicure with a gel coating. She even gave me a student discount since it was for prom! It was great, and I really loved my experience there. everyone there is super friendly too, and they make you feel like a part of their Maile’s Nails family.

I love the great service that you get at Maile’s Nails. What I don’t like, is the fact that you pay more to get things like «spa» pedicures, without really getting much more done. I’ve tried to learn the names of the people who have helped me out but the language barrier is a big issue. It’s my go to place when I’m in SD but I’m sure there is better out there.

I really like this place. It is close to my house, cheap and has great location. Lots of street parking. I went yesterday for very much needed pampering. I got a pedicure and my eyebrows waxed and I ended up so relaxed. It was just what I needed.
What I really like about this place is that you don’t feel judged. We have all been to a nails salon in that they start speaking their language and makes you wonder if they are laughing at your feet or talking about you… well…this place is not really like that. They don’t talk behind your back.
They do good waxing. I have heard of places that leave you looking like a chola… [not this place]. :)

I really enjoy this nail spa. I’ve never bothered to make an appointment and even when I take my mom we have never had to wait more than 20 – 30 minutes… but it’s worth it.
Maile’s has good ventilation so you are not trapped in a room of toxic fumes, they have Hot water for the foot basins, it’s relatively clean compared to most nail salons, they have a pretty nice selection of nail polish, they take walk-​ins, and if you must wait there’s a nice coffee bar across the street as well as a smoothie bar to pacify you while waiting. The manicurists are very pleasant, courteous and very through. A few (manicurists) are truly masterful at applying hand painted designs to your daintily painted peds ;-)
I have had a half a dozen or more mani/​pedis there and haven’t been disappointed yet.
I am often asked where I get my nails done and I have been reluctant to share my little neighborhood secret but alas, share and share alike ;)
