Paxton Towing

If you have been a victim of this company or any other sleazebag towing company, or just a regular sleazeball business, just pay with your credit card then call and report the charges as unauthorized charges, these low life’s usually aren’t smart enough to defend a chargeback.

I literally had to wait almost a year to review this pathetic excuse for a legitimate company. It took me this long to calm down from the anger these pieces of human filth caused me or else this review would have been full of vile and hate.
Well, I still have vile and hate for these scum. I am not sure what their association is with the apartment and housing complexes they prey on is, but the home owner associations that have contracted them should be ashamed of themselves for working with these criminals.
As far as I can tell they cruise around complex parking lots picking on vehicles that have parked at THEIR OWN spots in front of their OWN homes or apartments. This is flipping unbelievable, just as much as I couldn’t believe it when one night they not only towed one, but TWO of my vehicles on the same night. We had dropped off my vehicle for maintenance and the dealership had given me a loaner which I happily drove home. Park it in my own space, all the while my brother was visiting and parked his vehicle in one of the NON DESIGNATED parking spots in front of the the building.
Well in come these losers and decided to tow BOTH vehicles during the night. Thankfully I needed something out of my car not soon after so I was able to discover the disappeared vehicles. After investigation I found their number posted on a sign and was able to quickly track them down to the most dirty seedy area I have ever been to in San Diego county. After more than $ 600 dollars later we drove our cars back. These cars were not in their lot longer than two hours and their excuse for the robbery was some bullcrap after hours release charge.
I will end this review here as I am sure you all get the picture, if I go any longer the anger or remembering this night almost a year ago will start coming out onto the page.
Their receipt shows them as Phoenix towing but the credit charge was Paxton. I am seriously thinking of taking them to court, in fact, now that I have more time on my hands I will look into it.

This wonderful company that I love so much, towed my car from a visitors parking spot, with no warning, written, or otherwise.
$ 348.00 later, I’m trying to figure out why they are operating under a moniker, Phoenix Towing, where I picked up my car at the address mentioned above, but charged my debit card to Paxton Towing, 3487 Main St., Chula Vista, CA 91 911, (619) 423‑7331.
This is the beginning of many questions.

Terrible company. Customer service even worse. Their business location looks like postapocalyptic war zone. They are targeting low income communities where people will never complain and just pay. I have left my car at my sister’s own parking space for two hours and guess what? I didn’t find my car when i came back.
But they choose the wrong person to cheat.
They charged me $ 220. I have brought them in court and won $ 830.
Thank you guys $ 590 was such a nice present.

I hate this people as well. They towed me at least 3 – 4 times. In my own apartment, once it was in the redzone so my fault. But I was taking up groceries up 3 stories gone maybe 2 min. Second time I parked by a store close to my apartments since we get one parking spot and have two cars and have to park a mile away. Third time it was in my own parking lot, my own personal spot, but we got towed because I did not have my sticker on the car so they towed my car even though I just recently moved in. So $ 300−350×3 is a lot of money for those scamers. All they do is cruise around my apartment looking what cars can they take. There quick, quit, ugly, stupid and useless.

Let me start by saying that NOBODY likes getting towed. Paxton performs a service to property owners, that drivers don’t appreciate.
OK, my story is that I had a rental car, and parked it in my slot at my apartment. The next morning the rental was gone!!! My first reaction was that it was stolen. Then I remembered that we had a towing service (that protects my parking spot by the way…) I gave Paxton a call, and they had the car. It was towed from our parking spot because it did not have the parking permit sticker in the window. Itried to reason with them on the phone, I called the rental agency, and I called the property manager. Then I read the law. All in an effort to find how we could avoid paying the $ 274 fee to get the rental car back. I reached the end of my rope! I turned to my wife and said, «how do we count this joy?» referencing James 1. We discussed how our money could be used to bless others, and how our difficulty could be used to edify others. We both prayed that God would have mercy on us. The towing company had every right legally to tow us. Though the circumstances were less than nice. I am pleased to share that God came through for us! Our property manager made a call on our behalf, and Ken at Paxton was very reasonable! We drove to the lot and drove the rental off without any fuss!
I give God the glory! He really loves us so much. Ken and my property manager have my thanks. I will be sending a note to Ken to include cash for their gas… because we are reasonable people!

Concur with Derek H. who states that these people are complete human trash. I am an active duty Navy Sailor who just returned from a 6 month deployment 5 days ago. I went to Gonzalez Market to get some fresh tortillas and my favorite salsa in preparation for my Memorial Day weekend gathering I was planning for. I parked where I always have over the past five years and ran in. I was in the check out when someone came in to tell me that my truck was being towed. It was literally 5 minutes. I came out and my truck was in fact gone and THAT’s when I noticed the signs that said no parking which were new since I’d last been there. I then called the number for the towing company (the s#^t bags @ Paxton) and had my wife pick me up and take me to the «place of business» on Main street. A total of 25 minutes had elapsed from the towing to me being there. I didn’t want special treatment but I explained about just returning from a deployment which started 30 November and had never seen the No Parking signs. The guy behind the counter even stated that the signs were put up in February. Regardless, if that was the case the fact I was wrong and I’m sorry which was all good until the bill came. $ 314.00 for the whole ordeal. Unbelievable. No doubt in my mind they these guys were hunting, low life sharks smelling out opportunities to take advantage of people. In my younger days I would have done something in retaliation (which I’m extremely well trained to do) however, in my time I have learned a lot about and believe heavily in karma. I have many friends who have perished over the course of my 28 year military career and I will honor them this weekend rather than dwell on the scum of the earth they died trying to protect. Thanks for listening to my therapy and F-​you Paxton and anyone else who lacks the talent to make an HONEST living.

These people are pieces of human garbage!
My car was towed from my own personal spot at my apartment complex. I had to wake up to my girlfriend saying the car had been stolen which started my day off on the wrong foot. After calling the non emergency police line I learned that my car had been towed.
I called Paxton and they said my car was illegally parked even though it was legally in my own spot. I had my apartment manager call and he worked it out. They had taken pictures and he informed them I was legally in my parking spot.
When I got to Paxton the man behind the counter tried to badger me as to why I was parked the way I was and seemed angry and went on to tell me he wanted to know since he had done all that work for free since my manager had told him he was in the wrong. Don’t worry why I parked that way. I pay rent and as long as I’m not blocking traffic I’ll park however I want.
I don’t feel bad that you had to tow for free. You were trying to charge me $ 300 bucks to get it out. You are a piece of garbage! I’m sure 85% of your business is bogus tows like this and not actually helping people in need.
I wish nothing but the worst for anyone involved with this company!

This Paxton Towing company is absolute bullsh*t! I seriously don’t know how these people are still in business after all the people they have scammed!. Recently on Sunday my mom’s truck was towed from her own workplace by them, even when she has an employee sticker! Like wow they’re idiots. They told her the truck was sent to the location in Mission George and when she got there they made her pay $ 310 to get her truck back! I’ve been reading many reviews and people are right they will charge a ridiculous amount even though its not legal… My mom’s main concern was that her purse was hidden under the drivers seat. but of course they found it and went through it! They were even dumb or careless enough (or both) to not put it back in the same spot where it was! My mom had recently cashed her check and had other money in there for rent, car insurance and car payments, because she planned to make payments after work and the work place is a hospital so security is enforced and no cars have been broken into so we definitely didn’t expect this from a towing company! A legitimate business is not allowed to go through your belongings! They stole almost $ 2,000 in total! They took it at all! These are such shady and pathetic people, they steal from low or average income families. it’s NOT RIGHT. When I read reviews in several different sites I noticed other people’s belongings had been STOLEN from them also. These people are low-​lives and I seriously don’t know how they are still operating illegally. There is even a news report on their business all you have to do is type in «Paxton Towing» into a search bar and it will pop-​up that these crooks have been on Chanel 10 news. They have so many negative reviews how can they live with themselves! I guess thieves have no conscious? A similar situation also happened to my mom’s co-​worker. We are all planning to sue and they will not win because there is several proof that these people are crooks! I just want to inform everyone of these people, and I really do hope you never come across them. This will not stay like this and I plan to get this out there to as many sites as I can. they seriously messed with the wrong family. Karma is a bigger b*tch than you Paxton Towing!

Their milage reader is not accurate. They are hunting like sharks. Towing is for helping people… not hunting down any person making a dumb mistake. Their lot looks like a junk yard and there’s no tow truck on site… they are all out searching for the next $ 400 victim.

HORRIBLE… Here’s the story.
I double parked only slightly over the white line in my apartment complex (which has unassigned spots). So a «private company» ticketed my car at 1:15am when I walked away from my car after work and then towed my car immediately at 1:20am. The ticket wasn’t even on there for 5 minutes, leaving me no notice whatsoever. So when I was going to go to work the next day my car was gone, I didn’t even know I was doing anything wrong because my lease says that my car will be subject to towing immediately if I was in a fire lane, blocking an exit/​entrance, or backed into a parking spot (nowhere does it say double parking).
So my boss was nice enough to give me a hour to go get my car so I called ahead to make an appointment and he said just as long as I came with in the hour that he would be there. While driving down the dark dusty alley my taxi driver stops at a trailer with only one light shining on a gate. I called paxton towing and asked for the guy that was supposed to be there. He had went to go tow another car!!! I told him that I was there waiting in a taxi and there was no one around and it was pitch black outside. The tower told me over the phone that he was a half an hour away and don’t worry it’s safe, and if i wanted i could walk out to the side of the road and stand underneath a street light if I was scared (I’m a 20 year old female and it was 10:30 at night).
WORRYING FOR MY LIFE AND THE FEAR OF GETTING KIDNAPPED ON THE STREET I stayed in the taxi and paid 98 dollars to the taxi driver (after the tower made me wait 45 minutes).
So I did some investigating myself and there is a san diego 10 news report on them that says the same person owns both the private company and the Paxton towing company! They aren’t allowed to sit and wait in the apartment complex that they are going to tow in so they go across the street or into a nearby grocery store lot and waits for the «private company» to call them. These people are criminals they come around at 1am and look for cars to kidnap. they don’t even use their towing lights when they are towing a car.
I’m fine with the fact that I got a ticket for double parking. I am NOT fine with the fact that they gave me no notice that I was doing anything wrong, they have total disregard for my safety, and they didn’t even hold true to their appointment times. They would rather be out making more money than giving me good customer service.
I feel bad for anyone else that has to do business with them. So shady.

These guys are crooked thieves.
My car was in the shop so I had borrowed my friend’s car. The rental office at my complex was closed, so I was unable to get a parking permit. Instead I wrote a note and taped it on the INSIDE of the driver’s side window explaining that I was a tenant and that this was my car and that if Paxton towing had a question to call me, and I provided my phone number and unit number.
Of course they towed it anyway, and claimed there was no note. Like I said, I taped it on the inside of the window.
When I got to their location I was shocked. I have been to 3^rd world countries (I really have) and this place looked like it was straight out of a trash hole in Haiti. There is a filthy trailer where some drunk stumbled out, there were piles of dog crap by the office, main gate, and around the parked cars, and trash and filth everywhere. I was quoted a price over the phone and when I got there I waited 30 minutes for the fool to show up and then he charged me more than what I was quoted. He was obviously shaking me up so he could pocket money. I called the office the next day to let them know and they stuttered and then said that was the correct price. Really? Than why was I quoted $ 50 less over the phone???
Also, my iPod and my GPS went missing from the glove compartment.
So beware. These guys are thieves and liars. I wish my apartment complex used someone more reputable, but Paxton must be the cheapest scum bags in town and are therefore used so landlords can save a buck.
I hope these guys get herpes.

Scumbags!!! Thieves!!! This review is long overdue. Just like the others on here I got screwed too; but fortunately everything worked out for me in the end. What happened to me though is I just moved in to my apt complex. The very next day I walk out to the driveway and I see the front part of my car, lower bumper smashed in. WTF?! I stand there for a good minute; and finally pick my jaw off the ground. Still dumbfounded I walk closer & see a note to my windshield! There’s a tel# so I call and spk to Steve I think his name is? Apparently they were trying to tow me since I did not have a parking permit sticker; mind u I just moved in & was not given a sticker yet. Anyway he goes on to tell me not to take it up w/​my ins but to bring the car to their location & either they will pay me out in cash for the damages or fix it for me @ their garage. I agree to meet w/​him that weekend; but after I hang up w/​him I call my ins immediately just so they’ll have record of this incident. The next couple of days I go get estimates ranging from $ 1500– $ 2700 for what I initially thought was minor bumper damage but there was more than what met the eye. Some pieces were busted internally.
So on that following Saturday I show the estimates to an employee @ the Paxton tow yard; didn’t even meet w/​Steve; who I originally spoke to over the phone. Anyway this weasel told me that what he’s looking at is only $ 300 worth of damage. I tell him he busted my radiator and also some of the other components according to the estimate. He told me he’ll pay me $ 300 or I can leave my car w/​them to fix. I basically told him to eff off and that I wasted my time going down there.
My insurance comp took care of me & even waived my deductible. Last I heard they were having a hard time getting Paxton to pay the claim but my ins told me not to worry; that’s what their claims dept is for. Shortly after I got my car out of the shop this Steve character calls me and tries to intimidate me. I told him never to harass me again & hung up on his sorry ass! Sleazy, scandalous ppl– BEWARE!!!

I had the not so great pleasure of being towed by this company. I was parked in front of my sisters garage for only a few minutes at my sister’s complex and in no time a tow truck and guy from a ‘parking enforcement’ company were in the process of getting my truck onto a dolly. The truck was not on the tow when I discovered this and even after trying to move my vehicle, they had blocked me in and were adamant that they would be towing my truck regardless. They refused to work with me because I was not the registered owner of the vehicle. I do not know how much truth there is in this because a couple years ago, I was towed by this company before in a different housing area– but the situation was totally legit. I was definitely illegally parked back then. They released the car to me from their lot with no problem or question about wether or not I was the registered owner. Anyways, they said that they would not release the truck from their tow unless the registered owner (my dad) showed before the tow driver was finished securing it to the tow truck. The truck is in my dad’s name but is insured under my name and my husbands name, who was also present. My mom was also there, and the driver rudely told her, «Doesn’t matter– you’re not the registered owner» and hopped in his truck. He then sped off with my truck not properly secured to his truck. The front of my vehicle was still on the ground and dragged my vehicle about 50 feet! After witnessing this, my husband I chased after the truck on foot and screamed «What the f**** are you doing?!» and he jumped out of his truck and charged at me! My husband got between us and told him to calm down and after an exchange of words between both parties and after he ‘properly secured’ the vehicle, he left. We went directly to the Paxton Towing and were told by a man working in the office that my truck was there but the tow truck driver left on a ‘police call’ and the truck couldn’t be released to me because the paperwork hadn’t been completed and he needed to wait until the driver returned. We were told it would be 10 minutes but ended up waiting nearly an hour. At the time the actual towing was taking place, I was quoted $ 180 by the parking enforcement guy but we paid $ 220 to have the truck released. When I questioned the fee and asked for an explanation and breakdown, the man in the office referred me to their price list displayed and said that if I didn’t want to pay the $ 220, I could pay $ 195 for the tow, X amount for the dolly, citation, travel time (or something), and a bunch of other fees that would total $ 300+. We ended up paying so we could just get our vehicle and go home, but they have not heard the last from me. Any help would be much appreciated. This company preys on good people to earn a buck.

This company screwed me over today and searching the Net, others as well.
I parked my car in what I thought was a visitor space so I could do some work at a Condo complex on Del Sol in south San Diego down by the border, 10 minutes later I came back and found my car gone.
I was told by someone watching the incident, that a guy was hiding in the bushes and the minute I walked off and bush guy started flagging down the tow truck and away my car went. $ 185 later I got the car back.
Someone is pulling a big scam. Watch out for this company.
The police told me this is not an unusual tactic.
It appears the local news has even did an investigation about them.
