Angel is the best. He has worked on two of our cars. He does great work. He’s honest and his prices are fair. I highly recommend him.

One of the best car shops in Chula Vista. Honest and knowledgable staff. If they find a problem that is a simple fix, they will tell you; instead of lying that it is complicated and charge you a big price to fix (like you typical shady car shop). Too bad they moved and can no longer find them.

First time customer… and I will be back! The best SMOG check experience ever! Jesus was on point with customer service, answering questions and provided an unexpected but appreciative discount. I was in/​out in less than 30 mins… maybe even in 20minutes! Great shop in the heart of Broadway in Chula Vista. Btw, my Camry passed… happy gurl ;)

Let me just say this place is legit! Angel, the mechanic, was super nice and assuring. He had let me know what my car needed and how much it would cost. This is your place if you need anything fixed or done to your car. You don’t have to worry about being ripped off. They are people of integrity!

Called and got quote. Walked in with no appointment. Cashier was friendly and I asked if that $ 5 coupon on their website was honored and worked, he said it does. I told him I forgot to bring it but he went ahead and took on my word. I was out within an hour and it only cost me $ 45…they sent the info to DMV as well. Oh, they take credit cards too.

First off they were very friendly and professional with me on the phone. I’m one of those people that ask why this, and why that. Not once were did they express being upset with me. Instead they simply answered every question they had.
I highly recommend these guys! There is a true difference between a Smog Repair ASE tech vs an ASE tech at Firestone or Express whatever. These guys will test anything and everything to see to it that your emissions are lowered for California law.
Just talk to these guys, once your car is accepted in for diagnostics and repairs rest a assure they will do the best job they can to get your vehicle up to speed to pass.
I brought in my 1995 200sx se Nissan because I failed at another test site only. Stupid me, the best thing to have done was to go here in the first place, get tested, then pay for a diagnostics then do repairs because they offer 1 free retest.
Please note you are allowed to take your car to any shop after they run diagnostics. By the way, when they «Run Diagnostics» it is a manual man test, not purely computer so there is no guess work and run it from scratch!
You can do all the YouTube and forum searching you want there are some things too hard to test for not too mention time consuming give yourself a peace of mind and bring your vehicle to Jesus for a test.
I noticed all sorts of vehicles here from 2012 Jettas to early 2000 BMWs to scrappy Toyota pick up trucks.

Smog due for registration renewal, this is the place to go! $ 50 and my car was done in 1 hour, just walked in without an appointment.

Finding this place was truly a god send! I was on the verge of buying a car, but was hesitant because the car company was doing some «work» on the engine. I loved the car, but still felt a slight hesitation in the engine when I drove it. With a little bit of research, I found Performance Auto Repair, and decided to take it there for an engine diagnostic before finalizing the deal. The car failed the diagnostic, and they were able to tell me what was wrong and how much it would end up costing me. Performance Auto saved me A LOT of money! Smog? This is the place! I searched for the best deal, and I found the best shop! Located on Broadway behind Pump It Up Audio. Friendly on the phone, quick and easy smog done with my child in tow. Clean, organized, & professional.
Magazines, candy machine & bathrooms (also clean!) in the waiting area. Jesus & Angel are great. I highly recommend Performance!

Really nice folks! I was busy doing some yard work at home when I realized I needed to get the smog check done TODAY!!! It was already 2 pm so I called to see what time they closed. I figured I had a couple hours to work my way there. Oops!!! They closed at 1 pm. Now that I think about it, i don’t know why they answered the phone: D
The guy who did answer the phone was super nice. He asked where I was coming from and agreed to stay open another half hour. That means that they had already stayed open an hour late, were going to wait for me another half hour, AND THEN SMOG MY CAR. These guys really got me out of a jippy: D
I threw on some decent clothes free of tree sap and I was off… I passed it since it’s easy to miss. It’s almost behind another business. I arrived and there they were… waiting for my arrival.

It was that time of the year when I have to renew my registration and as always I turned to Unilocal for a little help in looking for a good deal around the area.
I found about eight different location where they do smog only and I called every single place and got some quotes.
Performance Auto Repair and Smog was the cheapest place I found so I got my car smogged, got the certificate, electronically submitted it to the DMV and were done with my car in less than thirty minutes all for $ 40.
Honestly, it don’t get no better than that.

I was trying to get my Smog done on my Truck so I could get my registration and sticker. Some place wouldn’t do it because it had a Aftermarket intake and Air Filter. So I wen’t to Chula Vista Smog and they said they could do it. Sure enough they did it as promised, and I went on my way.
I have since taken my other cars to CV Smog to get the smog check done. They don’t take a long time to do the smog like some other places do, and are friendly to their customers.
