Primp and Polish

So I came in a while ago for a full set and it took the nail tech 3hrs to finish my set which was just a gel polish nothing crazy! And the next day I wake up with 3 nails broken in half! WTH!!! I called they said they would fix them I come in and bring a friend and she got a full set and all her nails were lifting within 2 days!!! (She was very unhappy) Anyhow So they put a nail form and formed a nail instead of re doing a whole nail! So I didn’t say nothing I let it be and about 2 days after about 5 nails were completely broken!!! I called and told them how unsatisfied I was with the set I got and how I had already came to get nails fixed and they said the girls hadn’t been really trained with the product the salon was using but that they are getting trained and they offered me a free pedicure… WTH!!! Paid 50 $ for my set and wasted gas twice to come here and you guys come up with this!!! Pfft!!! NEVER went back and do not plan on going back nor referring people to this place!

Came in the place was exceptionally clean! Can I say warranty woohoo finally a nail salon who will take responsibility for accidents that may happen. Not to mention the drinks affordable price and a drink my old nail salon charged me $ 8 for a mimosa. The owner Valerie is sweet and made sure I was taken care of. My nails were done correctly and love the nail art thanks to my new home! I went in over a month ago my nails are in tact no chips no breaks.

Great place, warm welcoming staff. The quality of work is excellent. The girls are great about keeping all the tools clean. Everyone should give it a try.

I love this cute nail salon centrally located in Chula Vista. I get my nails done by nail queen Reyna and she always does beautiful work… Whenever I come in with a nail design idea or inspiration she always makes it come to life. Everyone on the staff there is always very friendly and welcoming and the owner Valeri is very accommodating as well. I’ve never had much trouble finding parking and I like that they autoclave their tools so I know they care about cleanliness. A good nail salon is hard to find so I’m glad primp & polish is in business!

Love love love this place. Everyone here is talented in what they do, and I always leave happy. The ONLY reason I’m not giving them five stars is the parking situation. Other than that, I highly recommend it.

The Talk of San Diego gives this nail boutique 5 stars! They take precautionary sanitation, they provide refreshments, friendly staff, fast service, and amazing results of course! This is the nail salon to be at! Don’t waste your time anywhere else! The owner Valerie is friendly and kind and Reyna is an amazing nail artist! Keep up the great work!

I was in need of a manicure and pedicure and called this place because I was messaging them on Facebook and they had a whole deal package of pedicure ($ 15) and manicure ($ 16) with cuticle care, massage, treatment, and etc. I was intrigued because normal nail salons don’t do all of that unless it’s the delux mani or pedi. Anyways, I called and asked if I can come in around 6:00pm, and they said I had to come in at the moment or wait until Tuesday (not sure why). I had to think real quick because it was so sudden for me, but I came in anyways. I came in and waited a bit but eventually got greeted. I had Karina do my pedicure and manicure. She was very nice. The only thing I felt was that I was being rushed with my pedicure when all I wanted to do was relax for a bit. She massaged me a little, but it just felt she was just kinda rubbing it. I wished she gave more effort in making me feel good because I really needed it. Not a big deal though just a little thing they can work on is actually making the customer feel good and actually taking their time. After that I got a manicure and I think she gave me a cuticle treatment but I’m not sure because I didn’t really feel she did anything to them. She slightly pushed them back I felt but I didn’t feel much of a change. I got a little had massage and again it felt like a little rub. Wish she did more. Then she painted my nails and they were okay. I tried to tell her to make them almond shaped and even them out but she said she couldn’t do much with my nails. I was a bit bummed. I then waited until my nails were dry but I wasn’t sure if they were but she said they were but be careful so I stayed longer to make sure. I still wasn’t sure if they were dry but she seemed like she just wanted to go home so I just said they were fine and she automatically cleaned everything up like she was ready to be done. I then paid the $ 31 plus $ 5 tip I gave her. And then left. When I came home I held my son and saw my nail peeled a bit off and I was super upset. I guess they weren’t dry. Would I come back? Probably not. I came because Facebook said they would me massage me and make me feel good and treatments and everything. I didn’t feel I got the full treatment that they said they would give for the $ 36 I paid for just a manicure and a pedicure. Overall, Karina is super nice as a person. Just needs to give more effort to her clients.

1 star because i came here at 11:15am and it was CLOSED hours state it is open tuesday-​saturday 10am-​7pm!

To keep it short, the nails here look great when you leave, but after a day or two they are a mess. I had a gel manicure that was peeling off within 3 days and a crystal full set that the crystals all popped off or faded within 48hrs, both done by Jasmine. I tried to come in to get them fixed, but they have such a small staff and hours available I couldn’t get in and had to go get them fixed at my normal spot around the corner.
I like Jasmine as a person and its nice being in there solo without others talking around you, but with high prices for nails that dont last I just have to say I’ll never be back.
There is one other nail technician… maybe she does a better job.

I absolutely love how welcoming and friendly the girls are! The salon is sooo cute and stylish and they only have the best nail products offered nothing cheap and by appt. only

For the record I wrote my review exactly a week and 1 day from when I actually got my nails done at Primp and Polish. Also on their Instagram they posted my nail set as being $ 33 when to be exact I was charged $ 54 and I gave a tip of $ 6 being a total of $ 60. Just an update so people can see the truth and know that my nails weren’t «2 week nail growth» as Valeri commented.

Update: I decided to give this place a second chance after losing my studs the day i got my nails done and having 5 broken nails in a period of a week and a half after my initial visit (in which they did fix 2 but after 3…4. and 5 I removed the set because I do not have time to be going in every day for that «quick fix»)
I went in again 4 days ago and got a simple 1 color full set with 3 studs on 2 nails and it came out to $ 50. I wouldn’t mind paying the price if the nails lasted more than a few days. It is extremely expensive and I am very unsatisfied, I have already lost 2 studs and this morning what do you know… A BROKEN NAIL!

Love the name, the cleanliness, and the complimentary mimosa I was given when I first came to this place! My nail tech was very nice and personable, however my nail job was just okay. The color looked great before leaving, but when I got home to inspect them, the color was uneven. I got my nails done Sunday and one of my nails has chipped already. My toe nails came out great! I paid $ 40 for a gel mani and pedicure and tipped 10, not too bad but I want at least a week with no chips, I’ll give this place another shot, hope it goes better, otherwise on the hunt again!

My daughter and I had our nails done by Jazmine Friday night. We were both asked if our nails looked alright and we said yes. However, once I got home I noticed my nails snagging on clothes, blankets, etc. So of course I looked at my nails closely and saw the acrylic was applied uneven, they were not smooth, my thumb is crooked, and my daughter has similar issues with her nails. I contacted the owner Valerie and she said we can come back in to have a couple of nail techs to fix them. I advised, I was not comfortable having anyone at her shop to fix them and would like my refund of $ 101.00. Per Valerie she will not refund my money for someone else to fix them and it will be a quick fix for them to fix. So now, my daughter and I are unhappy and did not receive $ 101 quality work.

Yes, you did overhear me say I’ve been to 2 others salons, but you did not hear me say they were not good in quality. I remember advising you my normal nail technician had an emergency and wasn’t available to service us that moment. Why would I want to come back and the 1^st time is not correct? Do you not see what I see with our nails?

So I called and made and appointment last minute the girl who answered was super nice and professional, when I got there I was greeted with a smile and a mimosa. They have super cute décor and it’s very clean which is a plus. Jasmine was my nail tech today and she took her time and did an absolute fabulous job she definitely made my nails look
Way better then what they had done at a previous place. I will be definitely coming back !!!

Great little nail salon! The girls are really nice and they helped me figure out what happen to one of my nails. They explained how to fix it and treat it and had I gone to one of other Asian salons they probably wouldn’t have told me at all. They were so nice to talk to and they did a great job on my nails and my mother-​in-​laws full gel set.
Great Price! For my fill & nail fix it was $ 19 AWESOME! Definitely want to get a pedi next time. MIL’s nails were $ 30 for her full gel set.
We loved the mimosas too, love it when you can get pampered so well :) We will definitely be coming back :)

I came and saw Valerie for an eyebrow wax about a week ago.
She was so sweet and made me feel beautiful and important. Not to mention she was able to book me in last minute, which was very nice of her!
She walked me through every step of the process and asked before she waxed anything off.
She genuinely cares about the client, and is very clean.
I rebooked my next appointment right then after I paid. Thank you Valerie!

Excellent Customer Service. Cleanliness I give it 5 Stars! I was greeted with a smile and a Mimosa! Nice way to start off my Saturday morning!:) Reyna assisted me. And she was pleasant and professional. She was detailed and a perfectionist ! Loved that. I like putting my hard earned money to good use. And my new set of acrylic nails came out dashingly gorgeous !! My next visit will be a pedicure :) I’ll keep you informed on that one ! I left feeling Polished! And love my bling Reyna! Ladies who love to pamper your nails? Come here! And when I say clean I mean this place is CLEAN! Unlike many other places I have gone:(EEK!

Ladies! today I went to the most adorable Lash salon, The Décor was soo Glam and Unique. I love the Ladies actually speak ENGLISH!!! My nails have Swarovski Crystals and Gel, I get soo many compliements today already! Ladies please do yourself a favor see Reyna Nail Tech she is talented. Did I mentiom they AUTOCLAVE and throw out buffers & files! I felt at ease, I received Complimemtary champagne!!! Here is a pic of my gorgeous Nails!
