Spotlight Video

My parents have always gone to this video store– they love the selection and I remember it from my childhood… That’s all I can say for this place unfortunately. I went in a week ago with my mom and was browsing their DVDS when I came upon a section by the entrance to the left that has homemade dog fighting videos. I was absolutely disgusted that the owner/​employees of this place are allowing the distribution of this material and that it is something they think is acceptable to have. My family and I have stopped going to this place and are letting family and friends know not to support this business. Absolutely unacceptable.

This place truly brings back childhood memories. I use to live a block away and I remember walking with my sister and dad and renting movies. That was when I was seven or eight years old.
Fourteen years later, I came in last May because several coupons came in the mail for a free movie rental on your birthday, along with the rest of the junk mail that comes on the daily. Ironically, that same day was my 22^nd birthday.
So, I went early in the day and I had the coupon in my hand as I was browsing thru the isles to see which lucky movie was going to get picked.
It’s weird, but, for years I’ve been curious about the movie Sideways. That lime green cover with the bottle tilted sideways always caught my attention but I always thought it would be boring. This was before I had an interest in Film and becoming a Film major.
Anyway, I got a free movie rental on my birthday and I got a new membership card. Surprisingly, with Hollywood video going out of business due to bootleggers, Netflix and Red box, this place continues to stay open.
They do have a decent selection on movies, low prices and they always have daily movie rental specials. They also have movies for sale at low prices.
To be honest, I haven’t been to Spotlight Video since last May 11^th, but ill defiantly be there this May for my free movie rental. And, after that day, ill try and go at least once a month to support it.
