Rubber Doggies Wash N’ Go

Had great service, and my dog was happy. Got the full service. The person helping me also talked about her allergies. He gave me some great suggestions on what to look for when picking out food for her.
People were friendly and helpful.

I don’t usually post negative reviews but in this case it’s warranted. Similar to other Unilocal reviewers we took our chocolate lab mix Dolche to Rubber Doggies in Cibolo for a wash and nail trim on Monday, 03/​21/​2016. After self-​washing her we asked them to cut her nails. The girl tried clipping her back nails but struggled handling an 80 lb. dog and ended up cutting her in the quick making her bleed. She tried to stop the dog nail bleeding but at this point Dolche was freaked out and so I told her to stop. Unexpectedly Dolche jumped off the raised table and slammed her snout into the concrete floor and broke her front canine in half. Blood was coming out of her mouth and so we left right away and took her next door to the Cibolo Small Animal Hospital who told me that the tooth could not be saved and had to be extracted.
We ended up with a $ 223.00 vet fill that included sedation and tooth extraction. The Rubber Doggie’s staff refused to take responsibility and referred me to the owner Ed. Over the phone he told me that they are not responsible and that we had «signed a contract» explaining that our dog «could be injured» and went on to say that «if we’re to lay responsibility» we were to blame for not completely drying our dog which made her paws slippery which caused her to injure herself. I explained that had the groomer properly lashed Dolche to the table properly then she would not have been able to jump off and this would have been avoidable; furthermore we never «signed» any contract. Who even does that when you wash your dog? Besides this happened when the GROOMER injured my dog who is supposed to be a professional and should have been more careful and responsible. Nevertheless Ed said that he would not pay the vet bill. I told him how disappointed I was and that I was going to post a negative review. He said, «Ok.»
Long story but keep this review in mind when you decide who to patronize for your best friends that you love and care for and bear in mind that a «friendly staff» does not mean a competent staff. Because in this case if you think that you’re a valued client because you’ve been a loyal customer, think again, you’re not.
Doing the right thing doesn’t mean anything to Ed. He certainly lacks integrity and in my opinion is an irresponsible business owner who certainly does not deserve my business or my respect.

I’ve been taking my dogs here for over a year. I haven’t had any problems and my dogs always look great when I pick them up. I love the poster behind the cash register that explains why it costs more to get a dog a haircut. «There’s a good chance you don’t poop on your stylist.» Cute!
The staff have always been friendly and they always have drop off times throughout the day. If you aren’t comfortable leaving your puppy in a place that is strange for them starting at 7 am and then not hear from your groomer until dinnertime (yes, my old groomer took them all in early, caged them before and after with no potty breaks til she was done with her day) and then have your dogs pee the second they get out the door, then this place is great for you.
Highly recommend.

I have been going here for 1.5 years and will continue going. Friendly fast service and the grooming is superb. I would, and do, recommend Rubber Doggies to anyone that loves their dog and wants the best treatment for them.

I love this place bc I have one dog I like to wash myself and another that needs to be professionally cut. They are able to accommodate that. My dog is a little bit of a pain and they are great with him. He smells, looks and feels so handsome when he is done. I love it!

It’s not worth the risk! They cut my dog and when I picked him up they didn’t even apologize! They claimed they didn’t understand how it happened and wouldn’t even own up to their own mistake. They did not offer to pay the $ 235 dollars it cost me to get his wound stapled shut. They refused. My poor dog was put on pain medication and antibiotics to make sure he didn’t get an infection. No one wants to ever hear the shot of a staple gun into their dog and hear him whine. Do not take your dog here if you love them and want the utmost care and respect. It is a shame.

I take my little coco here, and I love this place, the convince, and I’m always a supporter of local mom and pop shops!

Was a great location to take your dog for grooming until Jan 19, 2013. We took our Bichon Frise mix to get a haircut and he went in a normal, awesome dog. He came out bleeding on the tips of both ears and a severe irritation on this groan region. We took him to Banfield Pet Hospital the next day and he had fever and more inflammation on his ears and groan. $ 100 pet bill (with meds) later, our dog is still not better.
It is a horrible experience to have your normal, awesome dog come back a mess and a shadow of his former self. Do yourself and dog a favor and think twice before going to this place. Don’t put your family (including your furry one) through this trama.

Great that I was able to make a same day appt. for my daschund, bad that they ran late and he was there for 2 hours.
I was however pleased with the location, service, doggie smelled good and nails were clipped. He seemed happy when I picked him up, not stressed.
I like that they also have a do it yourself service. You can take your dog and they have stations set up that you can use using their products and tools for a fee. Great for big dogs you can wash in the bathtub.
