A W Gerdsen

I had a great experience with AW Gerdsen. I rented one of their properties for about two years. I don’t want to put the specifics of my lease, but I found it pretty affordable for a college graduate student in a safe neighborhood.
My only complaint about the company is that they were a little too off-​hands. Usually, you want that with a rental company, but I found myself at times without much contact with the staff at the company. A simple email back or call back after submitting a maintenance request would go a long way. As a result, some things didn’t get done in the most timely manner.
But regardless of that, the staff was amazing (when I did see and converse with them.) The buildings are in really good shape for Cincinnati, which is otherwise plagued by neglected buildings. My apartment even had garage spots, which was an extra convenience and great for safely storing cars. I think most of the buildings have storage lockers too in the cellar. I used mine to store some boxes and my laundry supplies.
Laundry was $ 1.25 a pop and in the basement, but that’s what you get for living in a city, I guess. Location of the apartments was a major plus. I was able to walk to UC from my apartment (about 25 minutes) or take a shuttle (outside Brugger’s bagels).
Oh, and my building was really quiet, full of both professionals and graduate students. I did not see any undergraduates I believe.
All in all, it was a great experience. I’d highly recommend them to anyone looking for apartments in Cincinnati, especially graduate students.
