History

Established in 1904.

Adrian Durban Florist’s roots come from Clifton in the center of Cincinnati. Started at their newly built greenhouses at 533 McAlpin Avenue in Clifton, George Durban and his wife sold their first flower bouquet on Oct 10, 1904. At that time Drian Durban was know as Durban“s Greenhouses. In 1956 the Durban family bought Adrian Flower Shop also in Clifton. In 1990, the nemes were combined. (The Adrian Flower shop was established in 1899)

Co owner Kerry Durban has been involved in the Adrian Durban Florist family business since 1977. Kerry handles day to day web site activities as well as the marketing for the company.

Eileen Durban represents the 3rd generation.

Beth Durban, Kerry’s sister, represent the 4th generation in the business. And Beth’s daughter, Megan is an assistant manager at the Clifton location… Megan is the 5th generation in the company.

With the 5th generation now involved in the business, Adrian Durban continues their success that started over 106 years ago.

I came in here to pick out some flowers for my boyfriend’s mother. I had never gone to a florist before, so I didn’t know what to do. Luckily, someone noticed my confusion and guided me through the process. She made a couple suggestions as to which flowers would look nice together, arranged it for me, and I was out of there within an hour. It was affordable, convenient, and quick.

No idea what the flowers will look like I ordered for my SO but based on the customer service I will not use this florist again. The person on the phone was amazingly rude. She acted like it was complete I convince to assist me in making sure the delivery was delivered correctly. I’ll call some place else next time.
I’ve updated this to an average review because although the customer service was poor, the flower arrangement was outstanding.

I just bought a Unilocal deal after having purchased a bouquet here earlier today. The associates were very helpful and attentive. I picked a flower I really liked and she just went with it. The resulting product was beautiful, and I’m so certain I’ll go back I just bought a Unilocal deal there. The price seemed very reasonable for a much better bouquet compared to what you get on online.
Bottom Line: I’ll definitely be back for my future flower needs.

I ordered flowers for my mother online to be delivered to the hospital on Saturday. The florist called me to say there was a snow storm and all local deliveries were cancelled, and she asked if I would take Monday delivery instead. I said no problem. On Monday, my sister called me at 6:30 pm to say she was with our Mom, but there were no flowers. I called on Tuesday and were told that they were shown as delivered on the computer, but they would look into it and call me back. Later, they said they were on the truck for delivery, but the tag fell off and they would be delivered on Tuesday before the end of the day.
On a positive note, the customer service was very nice and helpful. They offered to refund my delivery fee, which I appreciated (I would have asked if it hadn’t been offered). I never saw the flowers (I am out of town), but my sister said they were very nice. Given the circumstances, they did a nice job trying to make me happy and fix the problem.

I purchased a Unilocal voucher, unaware that I wouldn’t really be able to use it online. Customer service (I cannot remember her name, which is a shame because she was so wonderful) contacted me to figure everything out and apologized for the confusion even though it was my mistake for not reading the fine print. Everything was fixed very quickly, and I was assured my order would be delivered with care! Incredibly pleased with Adrian Durban and will certainly use their services again!

This may be a wonderful business, but I went through hell and hot water to get my order placed. It was literally last minute. I specified, very sternly to get my point across, for the delivery person not to say anything about who the delivery was from. Which didn’t happen that pissed me off, especially because I ordered their best bouquet of roses for Valentines Day. Not QiXi, the Chinese Valentines Day. The American one, lol.
For the money I spent and the hurdles I had to jump through to get my order shipped, then on top of it my instructions were not followed. Ruining the whole element of surprise. The recipient, my soon to be ****** (nothing’s in stone, can’t propose on FaceTime or QQ) knew about the package before she arrived back home from class. I was furious!!!
After all of this headache, the flowers gave her the worst allergic reaction ever, I felt sooo horrible, my baby was miserable because of me. To think, all the trouble I went through, she was deathly allergic. Definitely one for the books, can’t forget Valentines Day 2012 EVER!!!

I live in Southern California and one of my closest friends lives in Cincinnati. It was her birthday the second week of July and I wanted to send her flowers but I didn’t have a whole lot of money to spend. I went on Unilocal and saw that they were offering a great special, and that they had good reviews. I went ahead and called them. I spoke with a floral designer and I told her that the type of flowers really didn’t matter to me. What did matter was that the arrangement be very classy. I told her I understood that it would be small due to my budget, but she assured me it would look classy and beautiful. The arrangement my friend received was indeed classy and beautiful! Adrian Durban Florist did an amazing job and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I brought in a $ 20 Unilocal voucher this past Saturday at noon. There were not a lot of cut flowers to choose from at all and the store seemed dirty. In fact there was a bird flying around inside. The employee didn’t have a lot of energy and seemed annoyed to have to help me. I picked out 3 gerber daisies that were not that great looking and one or two other cut flowers. She did add some filler but I believe I would pay maybe $ 12 at Kroger for what I got with the $ 20 certificate. Would not choose to go back.

I won a gift certificate during an event at another fine Clifton establishment The Esquire and was delighted by the service I received from Adrian Durban’s.
I went in to see what I could see and spend the gift card on nothing special. I had never been in and was just browsing. Bu the ladies and I got into a great conversation about a mystery potted plant I have at home and what it might be. Then they recommended some flowers to decorate my home with and wrapped them up quickly and attractively.
If you need flowers or nick nacks; stop by!

Great florists that can put together an excellent arrangement without much input. I stopped in on a Thursday to buy flowers for my girlfriend’s show on Saturday evening.
I told the clerk that I had forty dollars to spend and that I wanted the gay-​pride bouquet in a vase. They said «no problem». They offered to deliver but I prefer to handle these kind of things on my own. They weren’t open in the hours preceding the show, but offered to leave the flowers at the restaurant next door for me to pick up. Now that’s service!
I picked up my flowers from Biaggio’s the day of the show. While some of the younger folks at the restaurant didn’t have a clue what I was doing, I found my arrangement with little trouble. An exquisite panacea with every color of the rainbow, in an elegant clear vase. It also had a good size. My girlfriend was ecstatic to receive it backstage before her show. Before realizing the flowers were for her, she thought they were the best that anyone had received for the show!
So, kudos to Adrian Durban for putting me in her favor. My only reluctance in using them again would be price. While you get a high quality product, $ 60 seems like a high price for a dozen roses. Then again, my experiences in buying flowers are largely limited to whatever is available at Kroger, which is certainly not of the same quality.

UPDATE: Oct 2011. Efficient service and they always deliver great flowers. I’ve used them for over 30 yrs to deliver to hospitals and homes in the Cincinnati area. When i lived close by i just walked in.
They can establish preferred service where you just call and they charge to a card on file. Has worked great for me.
