History

Established in 1991.

Located on the east side of Cincinnati, Allegro Dance was opened in 1991 by Lenora Gilmour. With her daughter, Louise Reid, and our other experienced and qualified instructors, we enjoy sharing our love of dance with children.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Lenora has been teaching dance for over 40 years. She has certification through the Scottish Dance Teacher Alliance, Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, and the International Dance Teachers Alliance among others. Lenora danced in many shows including Carousel and Showboat. She was born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland and at age 17 she opened her first dance school where she quickly registered 100 students. She moved to the US in 1984 and in 1991, opened Allegro Dance.

Louise has been teaching dance since 1995. She is a member of the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing Adjudicator’s Panel and a Fellow member of the British Association of Teachers of Dancing. She has competed in the World Highland Championships and has performed at US Bank Arena, Bengals Half-​time and other local events. She was featured in a commercial for the Fine Arts Fund. Louise’s students have been successful at local, regional and national competitions. Louise is married and has two children.
