Amanda K.

Business Owner

Amanda’s amazing work has been featured several times in many publications, most notably, The Cincinnati Enquirer. She is truly passionate about the career she has chosen. She has steadily built a reputation as a specialist in color and cutting and her impressive list of clientele is representative of that. Amanda was recently chosen as hair and makeup stylist for Sarah Palin during her book signing in November of 2009.

On a personal level, Amanda is dedicated to both of her children, Aspen and Zack. Family is No. 1 in her life and her business philosophy springs from that. When she is not at the salon, she enjoys coaching her daughter’s basketball team at Miami Valley Christian Academy. Aspen follows her mom’s passion for athletics and she excels at both sports and her studies at school. She is also extremely proud of her oldest son Zack, who is currently is in the military and stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

My husband and I have both been going to Amanda for a few years now and are both very happy with the results.
I have her color and highlight my hair and he has medium-​length curly hair, so both of us have complicated styles.
She really has a knack for knowing what style will look good for you.
While in the salon, I’ve witnessed a ton of people coming in with meh styles and leaving looking fantastic. Everyone always seems very happy with the results.

OK, I’m updating, and it’s not good.
My first experience, as you can tell, was fantastic. The second cut I got, I wasn’t really stoked on, and I felt like Amanda was trying to do 20 things at once and not paying close attention to any of them. I figured maybe it was a weird day, maybe she just got behind and was struggling to catch up, so I let it pass.
The third cut I got, I felt like she didn’t listen to or understand me. Also, she was multi-​tasking again and I just didn’t feel taken care of. I also didn’t really like my cut, after asking several times to go shorter, eventually I had to come back a week later and have her cut shorter. To her credit, she didn’t charge for the re-​cut but I just haven’t been satisfied these last two times. :(. I’m trying out a new salon, I will let you know what I think!
