I’m pretty sure the boutique is called Arte Nouvelle now; they moved from their old location a few years ago. In any case, it’s the same concept – artsy clothing and accessories in funky colors and textures at a higher-​than-​Cincy-​is-​used-​to price range. Think Dorothy Zbornak with a New York edge.
THE VIBE: Bright colors and soft music make the shop feel fun, yet refined and relaxing.
YOU’LL FIND: Women’s clothing and accessories, including coats, jewelry, shoes, and all the scarves you’ll ever want. Seriously, if you like scarves, this is THE place.
INSIDE SCOOP: Impromptu sales and specials are posted on the Facebook page; owner Cathy Caldemeyer sometimes shares her adventures at Market Week on the website. I wish they kept up the blog – I find the behind-​the-​scenes stuff really interesting.
MY FAVORITES: They carry one of Viv Westwood’s and Miyake’s diffusion lines, Leigh & Luca scarves, and some lesser-​known mid-​range lines. Last Fall I saw a long hurricane-​swirl organza skirt I’m STILL obsessing about, and this is always my first (and usually only) stop when I «need» a new scarf.
