This is the kind of place I dream of when I think of a good deli. Fresh, in-​house selection of meats, salads, soups and cookies. Whatever is not made in-​house is Boars Head. There is a great variety of standard deli sandwiches to choose from, but the star is the listing of hot sandwich options. All are stellar, including the meatball sub, philly cheesesteak, rueben and hot ham & cheese. All of the soups are great as well.
But that’s not all. You’ve also got a full-​fledged convenience store mixed in, with a great selection of chips, snacks, sodas, beer and wine. A great little spot for anyone working near the 4th & Plum area of downtown, and I’m sure a great find for anyone living downtown as well.

OMG they have soft serve ice cream. Plus they stopped putting juice in the vending machine at work. Like I’m gonna drink high fructose corn syrup. As if. This place is more convenient than ever. I’m even drinking coffee today.

I saw on Unilocal yesterday that this place was one of the best places to get a sandwich in Cincy so I wanted to try it. They have soooooo much to choose from but I went with the grape and walnut chicken salad because I could probably eat chicken salad every day of my life. It did not disappoint! Very good! I love the variety they have and I’ve recently discovered Boars Head meats and have become mildly obsessed with them so I love they have that also. Looking forward to going back and trying all the other things they have.

I visit the barista multiple times a day because it is that good! I work right above it and it is one of my favorite spots to go in Cinci. They have everything you could want! Fresh deli with amazing sandwiches and wraps, homemade cookies/​brownies/​muffins, different soup everyday, different lunch special mon-​fri, craft beers, fine wine, up to 7 or 8 different kinds of fresh coffee (if you get there early enough) during summer they even have soft served ice cream with toppings. The list could go on but needless to say, the place is great AND affordable! When the line for the deli is almost out the door everyday between noon and 2 you know they are doing something right. Check it out!

It’s a small deli-​counter and convenience store setup with seating.
I’d highly recommend looking at the menu before you go and knowing what you want. The line moves fast and if you’re clueless when you get to the counter you’ll look foolish. After you order, go over to the drink coolers and try to stay out of the way until your order is ready.
It won’t take long; they know what they’re doing here.
The food is always fresh and the variety is impressive. It’s a lunch staple for almost everyone that I work with.

Great little neighborhood deli. We went twice while in Cincinnati and enjoyed it. They can get a little backed up on the orders, but they’re so friendly and the price is so reasonable that it wasn’t a problem. The owners and servers were fantastic, and my child with food allergies was easily accommodated. They’ve very convenient to the convention center — right across the parking lot on it’s south side. You place your order at the counter and then wait. Everything is packaged «to go», so its easy to take to your hotel or you booth at the convention. You can also sit at one of the tables. Surprise! Drinks and chips are included in the meal price, making this one of the best deals in downtown!

Sometimes you want to be impressed by your food. Sometimes you just want a delicious sandwich delivered in under 5 minutes as you order in your pajamas. Caffe Barista delivers on both fronts.
The deli, which also sells groceries, wine and beer, is conveniently located on the corner of Fourth and Plum (right below the blue awnings for the Apartments right above it).
The hot sandwiches are absolutely amazing. The mesquite brisket sandwich is pretty good for deli made brisket. The menu is initially intimidating, but the staff is always friendly and the specials are clearly displayed right at the counter.
Overall, Caffe Barista is a solid lunch option for anyone downtown who wants good food fast.

I have lived above this deli for over a year now and I have LOVED Caffe Barista. Miss Beth, the owner is extremely nice and always willing to help in anyway she can. I told her once that I had to bring dessert to a work Christmas party and she offered to make me a dozen homemade cookies. I once was talking to my boyfriend about needing lettuce and although they typically don’t sell lettuce, she offered to get some out of the back where they make sandwiches so I could have some for what I was making. And more often than not when I’m in a pinch and need a bottle of wine I will hurry down there before they close at 7pm and she recommends the best wines, tells me what the best deals are and tells me what new wines she got in. She never gets mad when I show up 1 minute before they close to get wine. She is amazing! If I don’t have time to go to Kroger and get a lot of groceries, I’ll stop here to get deli meat, chicken salad, milk, bread, etc. It’s so convenient.

Stopped in for a quick lunch and, although the line ended up making it a longer lunch, the food and friendly places SO made up for it. In a classic deli style, you wait in line at the counter and shout your order to the few people working in the back — then, after a bit, they hand out some of the most delicious food you can get downtown. My favorite has to be the smokehouse brisket sandwich — out of his world. Everyone was super friendly, and I’ll definitely be back.

I go here 2 – 3 times per week. Great selection of breakfast/​lunch food (and sometimes dinner stuff, if working late). Selection — especially for downtown — is top notch. They even had cases of Great Lakes Christmas Ale in stock prior to most chain stores. My personal favorite is the Turkey Chili. Fast friendly service in a convenient downtown spot.

BREAKFAST SANDWICHES CURE ALL! I woke up this morning with a headache. But, after eating a breakfast sandwich, my headache instantly went away. Now, it could’ve been the 4,000mg of Tylenol I took, but I’m not ruling out the possibility that the bacon, egg, and cheese croissant cured my ailments.

Perfect downtown lunch spot. I’ve heard co-​workers talk about this place but today was my first experience there. They have lots of options from hot and cold sandwiches to soups and fresh fruit. I went with the Chipotle Chicken (hot) and it was delicious! One of my co-​workers got a cup of soup with chunks of Gouda (which I would have gotten if she hadn’t taken the last cup) and she said it was delicious. We ended up grabbing a table for 4 but it’s also a great place to just run into and grab a sandwich of a snack on the go.

This little café and deli is wonderful. I wished I found this place before the last day I was there. It’s small inside and very crowded at lunch time during the weekdays. But the food is DEFINITELY worth it. The staff have the busy lunchtime down to a science. I wanted a roasted chicken sub and the lady who helped me suggested sliced roasted chipotle chicken on a pretzel bun with tomato, lettuce, and a chipotle mayo. They serve boar’s head deli meats. And have a deli cooler filled with homemade pasta and potato salads and other homemade salads. I had to try the pasta salad with my sandwich. The sandwich was piled high with sliced chicken and the bun was soft and flavorful. It had a spicy kick but was very tasty. The pasta salad was excellent. It was simple with pasta and olives and drizzled with a very virgin olive oil. If you live in Cincy or work downtown, this should be a regular place! Definitely try it if you are visiting downtown!

This place was a lunch time staple when I worked downtown. When you enter, you can walk up to the meat counter to order your sandwich. They have specialty lunch sandwiches and subs or you can build your own. Their breakfast sandwiches are really yummy too. Make the lunch a combo and you get chips and a giant pickle. They also have a daily lunch special like burgers every Friday. Some Thursdays they have tacos which is my favorite. This place is also a small grocery/​convenience store.

I love this little deli across the street. They have solid sandwiches fur lunch and a full breakfast menu. You can’t do better than their $ 2.50 breakfast sandwich. The staff is friendly and attentive. Mt only complaint is that I wish they were open even more!
Bottom Line: I can’t stop going back for the breakfast sandwich, and I don’t want to.

Caffe Barista is a God send. I live right upstairs and it’s seriously the best housing decision I’ve ever made.
They have an amazing deli with phenomenal sandwiches (1 word: PRETZEL BUN). The grocery literally carries ANYTHING YOU ARE LOOKING FOR. Including but not limited to: food, snacks, drinks, good craft beer, awesome wine selection, cleaning supplies, band-​aids, flour, sriracha, produce, and STAMPS (?!?).
They make pizza, breakfast, smoothies… seriously they have everything. And the coffee is good too.
Call ‘em up early and they’ll have your deli sandwich (with a pickle and bag of chips) made to order and ready for pick-​up for only ~$ 5! You can’t beat it!
My only complaint is that it’s not open late or on Sundays

How have I not written a review for this place?!
Caffe Barista is that pace with the huge blue tent overhang that says, «Fourth and Plum Lofts» on it. I always used to drive by here but never knew it was a deli. Finally I stumbled upon this place after getting a hair cut next door and boy am I glad I did.
They literally have, or could make you, anything you are craving. Home made pizza? Check. Deli sandwiches? Check. Pancakes? Check. Just want some wine? They have a grocery where you can get beer, wine, milk eggs, chips, pop, candy. This place is an oasis in the middle of downtown!
I went for the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich with chipotle seasoned chicken breast, spicy mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, pepperjack cheese all on a soft pretzel bun. WOWZER! This isn’t your ordinary sammie. The onions give it great texture against the soft pretzel bun and the mayo brings the heat. A perfect well-​rounded sandwich and a staple of mine.
The service here has always been quick and friendly, but if you’re going for lunch prepare for a wait because this place is hoppin’ and rightfully so. Hands down the best Chipotle Chicken sandwich in Cincy.
