We went to final Friday a few weeks ago and afterward were looking for a place to grab a drink. We first stopped into Igby’s, but in search of somewhere quieter, we ended up at Cincy’s on Sixth.
This was my first visit since the changeover from Cadillac Ranch. Upon walking in, we were stunned by how empty it was a Friday night. The bar in the middle is quite large, but we were the only ones sitting there. There was some pleasant live music going on at the time and was at just the right volume to accent the mood rather than overwhelm it. Tragically, as soon as the live performance ended, the music system was turned back on at a very loud volume. While this is absolutely what I would expect for a Friday night, it was unexpected for such an empty bar.
We were initially served quickly, but found subsequent interactions to take much longer. We also ran into several chairs at the bar that were too loose to sit on comfortably and the patio door let in a ton of cold air every time it was opened.
We didn’t try any food and only stayed for a drink or two. In good news, this is the place to go to avoid crowded spaces.
I’d be interested in coming back during the day or during happy hour to see if the mood in any different. However, based on this experience, it may be a while before I return.

My coworker and I were wondering around looking for a place to eat lunch, and saw that Cadillac Ranch went out of business, so we thought we give it a try This review is based on 4-​star for the food, but the service is just 2-​star, so overall 3-​star.
I ordered a roast-​beef with gravy for lunch, and it was actually really good, and it comes with complementary soup! The beef was very tender, and you can taste the effort that was put into making it so. However, the service just wasn’t that great. It could be the fact that new management came in and people are still getting used to the set-​up.

After attending the Unilocal meet-​the-​owner event this summer I really wanted to like Cincy’s. I even won a $ 25 gift certificate and was excited to try them for a ‘normal’ experience. I’m hoping that my experience last Sunday was not a ‘normal’ experience.
My husband and I went here for a late dinner on a cold December Sunday night. There had been a Bengals game earlier in the day, but as we were there several hours after the game ended we hoped the crowd had died down. We were met with a moderately full restaurant… plenty of people but also several available tables. After a couple of minutes we were seated at a table close to the bar. And then we waited… 5 minutes passed without a server greeting us… then 10 minutes. Finally someone greeted us and you could tell something was awry because he asked if we had been served already. When we said no he apologized and quickly took both our drink and food order. He did have to return when inputting our order because he couldn’t remember what we said, but I was happy he at least returned instead of guessing. I’m willing to give a server a break for something like this, especially if it had been a long night with the game. But the errors didn’t stop there. The wings were brought out quickly and were fine. But unfortunately he mis-​ordered one of our entrees and had to send it back to the kitchen. Luckily my husband and I were sharing or else one of the entrees would have been sitting at our table for 10 minutes getting cold while we waited for the other. In addition, both entrees were brought with fries when we only asked for one, and I had to ask twice for a side of ranch. When we were finished eating we waited another 15 minutes for our check. I could tell that the server was working hard… it just seemed like they were understaffed that night. And if the food was good I would have given the 3^rd star, but honestly the food mediocre.
I’m left with no real desire to return. However, if a group of friends suggests Cincy’s for a drink or appetizer I probably won’t say no.

This is one of my favorite happy hour spots in the city! They have fantastic drink specials during the week, the atmosphere is fantastic. You can come by yourself or with a large group of friends and fit right in. The best is sitting on the patio on a nice spring or fall day enjoying a cocktail and people watching.
Service here has always been very good, the wait staff is very pleasant and the bartenders make a mean drink!

Service was poor. Fries & chips were cold. Burgers were undercooked. Asked for a lemon for my tea, didn’t get one, had to walk to the bar and get one from the bartender. On the bright side, the bartender was very helpful and the beer was cold. But, that’s not enough to bring me back.

I wasn’t expecting much and still found a way to leave disappointed. Probably not the best sign.
Cincy’s on 6^th looks great from the outside… huge and colorful and fun-​looking, albeit slightly out of place in downtown Cincinnati. Three of us stopped in for drinks and a snack during the Reds game on Saturday. We were told that they had a beer special with 2 pitchers for $ 16. It took 15 minutes for us to get one 75% full pitcher. We were told that the second pitcher would replace the first. The big problem with that was that the waiter took the first pitcher before we had emptied it. All in all, we probably had 50−60% of a pitcher. This complaint might seem tacky, but cheep beer is all this place has going for it.
The food was horrific. We had three plates — a dozen chicken wings, nachos (if you can call them that), and chicken fingers. I’ll start with the decent. The chicken fingers seemed to be hand breaded and the steak fries were crispy. The nachos were inedible. They were served on potato chips rather than tortilla chips. The cheese was only half melted. The ground beef tasted and smelled like dog food. The server didn’t come to check on us at all during the 15 minutes we were eating, and didn’t say anything about the nachos that we had barely touched. Finally, the buffalo wings were anemic and an embarrassment to other buffalo wings. They made BWW’s look big by comparison. The flavor was average, but the wings were unacceptably small. I should have taken a picture.
The experience was so bad that we ended up leaving in the 4^th inning of the game to walk to a HeadFirst on 3^rd st. We actually saw the bartender at our table more often than our server. How is this place surviving while Bartini failed so miserably???

Hands down, this place is definitely better than the Cadillac Ranch which was there before! I like how they try to be a little classier, but aren’t necessarily going to the full extreme, and that I can still walk in there wearing cargo shorts and flip-​flops. By that, I mean that I like that they have a General Manager, Asst. Manager, and a cook that’s coming up with all the food recipes. I don’t think the food is excellent, but it’s definitely good! Every time I’ve gone, I’ve sat outside, and it was a great experience — the waitstaff was good, the drinks were good, and it’s nice to sit outside in the middle of downtown Cincy (too bad we have to look at the monstrosity that is the Cincinnati Art Center.

I am being generous with the 2-​star rating.
The restaurant building itself is very attractive and gives the impression of a great place to go.
Their menu isn’t extensive but contains typical bar type food. It’s my opinion that it is a little pricier for their offerings (just a bit).
The service was just fine. I was a little disappointed in their beer selection. Evidently, they offer a $ 10 buffet on game day. My wife got this and didn’t have much to say about it. I saw a fat Cardinals fan lick his finger and grab a ladle. That’s why I don’t do buffets. I had the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. I am not an expert but it appears to be a real chicken breast (as opposed to chopped and formed) and fries. It was ok. The fries were seasoned and the best part of the meal.

My Meal: $ 9.95
3 Beers: $ 12
That isn’t an exact amount but it came to about $ 34. I could have gone to Rock Bottom or O’Malley’s in the Alley for that.
As said below, if you are wanting to hit this place for a couple of drinks after work, it is fine.

I’m of the opinion there is a bar for everyone, which is why the hipsters and ultra cool people can hang out at their respective bars and leave sports fans to hang out in a place like his.
I never had the food at Cadillac Ranch and the only time I went was before or after a Reds game. This place is under new ownership and they really seem interested in delivering a great experience. Since it was a meet the owner night, we were seated in a banquet room (which used to be the bull area) and well attended to by the servers, manager and even meet the chef who explained a little bit about the menu.
The food we tried was nothing out of this world, in fact, the sandwiches they served at Unilocal Independance Party were more memorable.
In any case, if their all you can eat buffets are good for before and after games, I think they can carve out a gathering.

We attended a Meet-​the-​Owner event and were truly impressed. The location, having previously been the dreaded Cadillac Ranch, is in a primo spot at the corner of 6^th and Walnut. I love that it is a block and a half from my home. I asked our waitress what kind of wine they had and was a little disappointed to hear «Red or White?» When I answered nevermind, she quickly corrected my train of thought… she wasn’t saying that they only had house red & house white, she was asking me what kind of wine I liked since their wine list is extensive! SCORE! Another good point is they are hoping to bring in several local beers. Their menu has been completely revamped and everything I tried was pretty darn delicious! Let me recommend the spicy hummus and the chocolate/​peanut butter pie dessert thing… It will change your life.
I can’t wait to see where this place goes as it reinvents itself.

Not Cadillac Ranch, not Cadillac Ranch, not Cadillac Ranch,
… now that we have that cleared up, lets look at some changes. First up, their food is new, improved in some areas, average in others. Their dessert menu is looking up, they have a great happy hour, and if you want to pregame before a sporting event, this is a good spot to hit up. They do a cheap buffet, and in tandem with happy hour, 20 bucks is going to go a long way for you.
The food won’t blow you away, but it’s different enough from standard hot dogs, nachos, mozzarella sticks and buffalo wings to warrant a 2^nd look.
Just call it cincy’s drop the on 6^th and we’ll get along just fine.

If I could give the service four stars and the food one star I would, hence the two star rating.
I want to like this place and the new mission. Maybe they haven’t worked out all the kinks yet I don’t know but I attended an event where they were showcasing what they had to offer and I have to say I was significantly under impressed. The food was lacking in flavor big time! I get the concept it’s simple American food but if you are going to do simple, the execution has to be dead on. If you are serving a wing it better be a damn good wing or a wrap? All you have to do is put already cooked ingredients together.
If I had one piece of advice I would say simplify. It sounds like the menu is too extensive and when you have that many things in the kitchen to prep sometimes the quality goes down.
On a positive note the patio is great and this is a great place for after work drinks but I would hold off from ordering food.

My friend and I stopped by here for dinner, curious to give the former Cadillac Ranch a try since it changed to new ownership.
We probably should have known better.
The interior decorations are the same, minus the mechanical bull. Lots of wood paneling and still very country-​looking; they just put up some Cincinnati wallpaper and pictures. Also, I’m not certain as to what is «Art Deco» about the banquet room, as Alex mentioned (unless black chairs and tablecloths count as Art Deco now.) Otherwise this room is more hardwood paneling accented with Cincinnati photos.
Anyways… on to the food!
It was underwhelming and overpriced:
— $ 14.00 salads
— $ 12.00 chicken sandwich
— $ 17.00 macaroni & cheese entrée
— $ 12.00 hamburgers
Side dishes aren’t included, each costs an additional $ 3.00.
As we browsed the menu, my friend pointed out the lack of vegetarian items. Even the salads have meat in them. Veggie choices were of the following:
— $ 12.00 vegetarian pizza
— $ 12.00 veggie burger
— $ 9.00 grilled cheese (with exotic American, Cheddar, and Swiss)
— a miniscule hummus appetizer
— a tower of onion rings
The pizza appeared on a very thin crust with toppings that looked like a reheated DiGiorno. The $ 12.00 hamburgers were processed pucks under the guise of condiments. The side of mac n’ cheese looked more like instant Kraft than homemade (and I could buy two boxes of Kraft for that $ 3.00!)
New name, same shenanigans. There are better places to eat on Sixth Street than Cincy’s.

This review will be my 770^th one, and out of all of them, I have only written two-​one star reviews (so far). One for an awful experience at a Best Buy. The other, for Cadillac Ranch.
I hated Cadillac Ranch as much as a person could hate a place. The space was awful, the people were terrible, the servers were rude, the food was the worst. It was as bad as a place could be.
Which is why I’m so surprised that the reviews for CIncy’s on 6^th have been just as bad as the reviews for Cadillac Ranch, since this place is unbelievably better. It may look almost the same, but everything else couldn’t be more different.
Cincy’s (not a great name, I will admit) is a local sports bar. It was bought by new owners (not just the same old owners who gave it a new name to try and turn it around.) And while it does have the same sort of wooden-​laid feel of CR, there are a few giant details to make it different:
— They got rid of the bull: Didn’t like the crowd a mechanical bull brought with it? No problem. It’s gone.
— They added in a private dining room/​event space where the bull used to be: It’s classy too, very 1930’s with dark wood walls, art deco lights and beautiful old photos of Cincinnati from the Cincinnati Public Library.
— They added in draft beer: How did Cadillac Ranch not have draft beer? Yikes. And they’re working to bring in local brewers and Cincy beer.
— No more country: They took out the western memorabilia and the walls are lined with images of Cincinnati.
— Added more TVs: It is a sports bar after all, and that’s what they want to do for downtown.
That’s just the start. They’re still reworking their menu, adding things, taking away things, seeing what works. Talk to them about what you like or dislike, they will listen.
As for the food, I got a mushroom burger that was tasty and GIANT. Seriously, that thing was monstrous and good. It came with chips, which I never really enjoy (I’m a fries man myself), but a solid meal all around.
I worry that people have, what I’m calling, «Cadillac Ranch Syndrome» when it comes to Cincy’s on 6^th, because it looks the same and has the same sort of feel of a downtown sports bar. However, the new ownership is making a solid effort to turn things around and provide a spot for sports without the jackassary and doucheyness of CR, and in no way deserves the hate that has been coming at it from the past reviews.
I wouldn’t be surprised if everyone automatically lowered their rating a star or two just because of what this place use to be. I felt it as I walked in — how much I used to hate this spot. But talking with the staff and sitting there with food, I could see the difference. They are making a real effort to add a fun Cincy sports bar downtown. It may not be everyone’s scene but it is world’s away from the awful crap that was sitting there for years and years.
I’m not saying it’s the best bar out there, but if you’re downtown and looking to watch the game, especially with a giant group of friends, this is where I would send you.

I’m actually writing this review as I sit at the bar enjoying a glass of wine. I stopped in at Cincy’s on Sixth today because I have not been here since the change in ownership (from Cadillac Ranch). I guess I was hoping for some miraculous experience that would change my mind from where it was before.
Unfortunately — nothing. I don’t know if it’s a bad thing or not. I guess, just neutral. For a place in this high-​priced real estate with such a great location, I would expect to be wowed. It’s just your average bar with average bar food that has a great outdoor seating area.
After being and knowing places that are in OTR, it’s hard to compete. The people that open up those businesses put their heart, sweat, and soul into every part. So, for this place just to throw average food on a menu and a few average beer taps up — just because of the location — disappoints me greatly.
Bottom Line: I would rather spend my time (and money) in a half-​the-​size place in OTR where I know there is love!

I had a ton of fun here-​BUT-​only because the ladies out with me were fantastic and we made our own fun.
I went about 11 on a Saturday night for a ladies’ night out with the gals. Grabbed a drink and went promptly to the dance floor. The DJ played all upbeat stuff which is great. Nothing too special about it, however he did take our 90’s music requests.
I think I might have liked to see the bull from the previous version, Cadillac Ranch. Would have given this place some character. Not to say this bar isn’t nice looking. Lots of dark wood. Clean. Patio. It was just boring.
I did have an uncomfortable moment with the bartenders. WHen I ordered my first beverage, they didn’t bring my card back and I assumed they kept them with my tab. However at the end of the night, they said they didn’t have it and got really short with me. I wasn’t being an obnoxious drunk (after two beers and two hours of dancing, I wasn’t drunk anyway) but I was getting a bit miffed at the way they treated me like I was an idiot. After talking to two bartenders (after the first one walked away from me), one found my card somewhere and no one apologized for being bitchy.
The security guard at the door was a cool dude thought and after a bit of chatting he pointed our hungry hoard towards Lucy Blue Pizza.
Yea, I’ll skip this place in favor of the hundred other bars downtown.

After a bit of a debate about Cadillac Ranch being closed, our server at Mynt shared with us that it’s still there, but under a new name (same ownership?): Cincy’s on 6^th.
I’ll start with the name: horrible. You can’t even spell out 6^th (Sixth) and/​or use something other than a lame abbreviation of the city (Cincy, really? What not call it ‘Nati’s? Ugh). I realize that’s picky, but it really just starts the experience off the wrong way for me!
We walked into what looked just like the Cadillac Ranch– part deux. There is still an outdoor area, there is still a dance floor (I didn’t see the bull relocated so that’s a step in the right direction), and there are multiple areas to order from. I suppose under the right circumstances this might not feel so trite or stale, but then a handful of bachelorette parties walked in and I wanted to walk out. I truly hope they had fun, it just added to my aggravation so I went to Nada instead. Class and adults, more my style.
Cincy’s on 6^th may be great placed for a younger (21 year old) crowd? A post game crowd? The space is large, that’s something to give it credit for. Other than that, and it’s center of downtown location, I’m not sure what it really has to offer. Perhaps someone sees the beauty here, it’s still lost on me, however. Sorry Cincy’s.

This was our first visit under the new ownership. The good news? It was a beautiful night sitting in a booth next to the open doors. The bad news? Everything else. The burger was retro Cadillac Ranch with stale waffle fries and mac and cheese that must have come out of a Kraft box (no offense meant to Kraft).
Service was inattentive, but our server did agree the mac and cheese didn’t look right. We will give them another shot hoping this was a fluke, but if it wasn’t we’ll take advantage of the happy hour beer prices and eat someplace better. Since we live downtown just across the street from Cincy’s on 6^th finding a better spot won’t be difficult.

Great service, patio, and redesign. So-​so food.
This business is actually open although the banner in the front states that the «Official Grand Opening» is April 5^th. I guess its just an extended soft opening, whatever. I wanted to check this place out and due to the amazing weather we are having in March, I decided to sit out on the patio and enjoy a Lazy Sunday
, minus the cupcakes and (Chronic)les of Narnia. The Ohio State and Michigan basketball game that was playing will suffice.
I didn’t want a full meal so I went for the Hummus Sampler ($ 7.95), overpriced in my opinion. It consisted of 3 small scoops of different hummus (regular, spicy and something else, garlic?) some assorted vegetables and fried/​baked pita slices. It was somewhat flavorless so the very attentive server Audrey grabbed some hot sauce and I spiced up the hummus. Overall the food I had was so-​so. The burgers and pizzas look like they will be tasty, but the prices seemed just a bit higher than I would like. Oh well, I guess that’s the price you pay for such a central downtown location. It was slow so I chatted up the server about the new place and she said that all the staff were allowed to stay and that the new management (same as Bartini’s) is much better. Good to hear.
If you visited this location when it was Cadillac Ranch, you’ll certainly remember the mechanical bull that tossed many a crazy persons, well, it is gone and is a very nice event center that could seat a decent amount of people. The place features, WiFi, TV’s, customized menus, and complimentary non-​alcoholic beverages with all events. I have no idea about rental costs, but John Guy, the Banquet and Catering Manager, will know. I’ll have to check this place out on the weekend to see what kind of crowd this place will attract. I ‘m figuring a mix of 20 to 30 somethings.
I look forward to hanging out on the spacious patio and enjoying a drink or a nice meal. Time will tell if the new management will have the desired effect, but I think things are looking good.
