James F. Bogen has practiced criminal law since 2002 in the Greater Cincinnati area, defending cases in Hamilton, Clermont, Butler, and Warren Counties, mayor’s courts, and federal court. Mr. Bogen works to provide smart, aggressive, and thorough representation in the areas of DUI/OVI defense, criminal defense at both the state and federal levels, and juvenile law. He has defended cases ranging from the most serious felonies, including homicides, serious sex offenses, robberies, and kidnappings, to DUI cases, assault cases, and other misdemeanors and traffic cases. He has taken numerous cases to trial.
Mr. Bogen has also served as Special Counsel for Hamilton County.
Mr. Bogen is certified in Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (the field tests for DUI), and he is also certified by the Ohio Supreme Court to represent defendants in death penalty cases.
In 2008, Mr. Bogen completed the Cincinnati Academy of Leadership for Lawyers (CALL) Program through the Cincinnati Bar Association in his first year of eligibility. He currently serves on three committees for the Cincinnati Bar Association. Mr. Bogen is a member of the Professionalism Committee and the Health and Well-Being Committee, as well as the Secretary for the Lawyer Referral Service Board Advisory Committee. He is also a regular speaker at the Cincinnati Bar Association on the topic of physical fitness, and he has had articles published on that topic in the CBA Report. Mr. Bogen also provides legal instruction in Ohio C
