Overpriced alcohol, but where else are you going to get it? But great selection of beer!

I live close to here and it is very convenient. For those who have never been there or seen it: it is basically a carry out with a huge beer selection and random grocery items you might need. Always fast and friendly service. I wish they had beer on sale/special like stop and go does, however, I still come here often for alcohol and cans of pop(which are 85 cents).

I have never bought anything from here except for a six-pack of beer. But as far as that goes, Joey’s carries a great selection. His selection of craft beers and imports available in six-packs would make a larger store jealous. Whenever I am in the Clifton area, if I want to buy some beer this is where I stop. The guy who runs the place is always nice. One time I asked about a beer that he didn’t have in stock and he even offered to order the beer if I lived in the area.

I want to give this place 5 stars, I really do. The staff is friendly, convenient location, and generally has the odds and ends that I need here or there. The staff is a bit standoffish at first, but after you become a regular, are quite warm and friendly. Joey’s has a great beer selection. Generally, the prices on beer aren’t bad either– a little high, but worth it for the convenience. Here’s the problem: 1) With beer being the exception, the prices are too high. It costs nearly $ 3 to purchase a two-liter at Joey’s. I understand raising prices for the convenience, however, at this point, Joey’s is just gouging their customers. 2) For the prices being as high as they are, this place is a dump. There never seems to be a rhyme or reason for the placement of products, and I’ve never been able to use the word«clean» to describe this place. Joey’s– You’ve been a benchmark to the college community for awhile now. Get your act together and I would love nothing more than to revise this review. Stop price gouging students and clean this place up a bit. I’ll be back for your beer selection… but I can’t say I’ll make a trip there for anything else.

Best little shop on the south side of UC campus. Whether you need an ice cream bar, a craft beer 6 pack(even if it is a bit out of the recommended«drink by» date), a full case of King Cobra, or toilet paper, Joey’s has you covered. Friendly staff, and if you stay for awhile you can play, or complain about jeopardy with«G»!

This place thrives on location. When you crave a decent six-pack but have neither the patience nor sobriety to go to a real store, this is your salvation in lower Clifton. They stock many quality brews(always refrigerated) to satisfy that sudden, unprepared urge. Your lack of beverage foresight will cost you; six-packs are usually $ 2 more than elsewhere. In the frame of mind that drives — er, walks — you here, that hardly seems like an unovercomeable obstacle. There are also your typical drunk munchies(bagged snacks, Hostess treats) to further elevate the number on a receipt that delights you tonight but will make you groan tomorrow morning. But at least you didn’t have to drink Bud Light or someone’s party punch.
