Macaron Bar

Wait, is this for real? A store specifically for marcarons? This is my heaven. There were at least eight flavors to choose from. Macarons are difficult to make at home so they are worth the price tag of $ 2 each. Disappointingly, there is no discount for getting a box of six so I couldn’t justify being irresponsible and getting more than a few. I got the pistachio and the vanilla this time. Both had the perfect macaron characteristic chewy crispy cookies and creamy flavorful center. They were light and decadent. My mouth is watering just thinking about them. The store is white and spare but pleasant enough. Must return soon…

A little bit of Paris in Cincinnati! I absolutely love this place it’s so chic and clean LOL! I actually like the macaroons more in Cincinnati than I did in France. Sad I know. My favorite flavors are the vanilla, blackcurrant, strawberry mint which is seasonal unfortunately and the chocolate. The peach I was not a fan of nor the raspberry. Definitely go check this place out it’s definitely an awesome find in Cincinnati and a great light dessert for any meal.

Same great macarons located in Hyde Park. I also like Dancing Roll located next door, so it’s easy to stop here after. Very limited seating inside, but hat is okay. Pistachio is still my favorite flavor, but everything is delicious. They make the macarons at the OTR location, and then bring them over here. Staff is very nice and service is great. Macarons are never cheap, and each one is $ 2. Each one is hand made, so it makes sense that these are pricier desserts. Anyway, great location, check it out!

Macaron’s are just delicious, absolutely delicious and Macaron Bar does an excellent job with them. The outer texture of the macaron has a slight crunch before you bite into the soft creamy interior. The cream filling is incredible in the sense that it replicates flavors like lemon, pistachio, and raspberry vividly. It’s like you are taking a bite out of a creamy raspberry. I could easily eat 50 of them and trying new flavors each time I come in is exciting.
Overall the Macaron Bar is a great place to take people or stop in while walking around Hyde Park. It’s a great addition to the area. The only negative aspect is that it’s a little expensive at $ 2 for a relatively small macaron. Ordering a few to try or for a group, quickly adds up. Ultimately, at least for me, the price makes this place more of an occasional treat than a regular staple.

This is an excellent spot for Macarons in Cincinnati! I bought a box of 12 and truly enjoyed them with the family!

I guess I should preface this by saying that I have made french macarons before, so I know what goes into them. It takes a lot of hard work and leveling up your baking skills to get to the point where you can achieve macaron mastery (I confess, I’ve not mastered them, yet). I’ve sampled macarons from multiple places over the years. Macaron Bar’s offerings are good, almost great, even (I’d say certain flavors even exceeded expectations– looking at you, matcha green tea). So while the price is a bit high, when this is your key product, I can see why that would be.
I love that they opened a shop near Hyde Park square, a convenient location for me to swing by often, when I’m feeling opulent. The shop is adorable, but tiny. It’s not an ideal place to hang out, as it’s really more of a pick up and go kinda deal.
If I had to pick my top three favorite flavors, I’d choose matcha green tea, rose, and pistachio, in that order. Certain flavors were disappointing (orange chocolate) while others were damn near perfection (did I mention how awesome the matcha green tea flavor is?).
I wouldn’t consider this an everyday kind of thing, but a nice way to treat yo’self when an occasion rises. Maybe even just happening to be in the neighborhood… that’s a good reason, right? I’m only about ¹⁄₃ of the way through the flavor options, myself, but I look forward to working my way through more, you know, whenever the opportunity occurs. Bonus: macarons are a very colorful way to surprise a friend when they need some cheer-​ups or just because.

Macaron Bar is a frequent stop for me, especially after dinner at Dancing Roll next door.
I love, love, love the macarons here. These delicate, almond-​based cookies can be hard to make. Trust me; I have tried to make them many times at home. Macaron Bar has got it right – right amount of soft crispness and chew, on point cream in the middle. Some macarons have a buttercream in the middle that can be cloyingly sweet and buttery; not here. They even got the ever elusive pied! Macarons here are seriously up there with the ones that you can find at Laduree in Paris. My favorite flavors are the fruit ones like framboise.
The presentation here is simple yet cool, and the service is top notch.

Bought 6 macarons & they were great! Pistachio, raspberry, orange chocolate, chocolate, coffee, & lemon. I had been to the OTR location before, but this one is easier to get to (for me) and parking isn’t such a mess (sorry OTR!). I definitely prefer this location and the macarons are just as tasty! The guy behind the counter was nice, too! My bestie got the churro gelato macaron and said it was really good.

The macarons were amazing! The cream fillings were superb with each having its own very distinct flavor. I always love how macarons are both crunchy and soft at the same time, and Macaron Bar definitely delivered. The flavors:
Pistachio: the pistachio flavor really pulled through wonderfully in the cream filling. It was not too powerful or too subtle either. The cookie was crunchy and the middle was soft. Overall, delicious!
Green Tea: exactly what you’d expect from a green tea flavored macaron. Classic. The filling was smooth and creamy, the taste was just like eating green tea ice cream. Definitely hit the spot.
Earl Grey: This was by far my favorite of the three. The complex flavors you find in a cup of earl grey tea really came out in the filling. It was well blended that you could tell you were eating an earl grey macaron. I’ve had some from other places in the past that felt lack luster. This may not be a flavor for everyone since Earl Grey tea isn’t a flavor for everyone. But if your a tea fan like me, then i think this is definitely worth trying.
Décor: very modern look. Classic macaron flair.
Service: the guy who served us was great! Very patient with my indecisiveness on which flavors to choose while also being knowledgeable about their product. I asked which flavors were most popular and he said: Pistachio, Lemon, Chocolate, Salted Caramel, and a few others I forgot. I only tried the Pistachio out of the favorites b/​c i’m a sucker for tea flavored things (hence green tea and earl grey above).
Pricing: very typical pricing for macaron shops. Not cheap, but not overly expensive.
Overall, loved my experience here, great macarons, will definitely come again to try more flavors: D

The place was small and cute. Since its in hyde park I was worried about parking but there’s reserved parking in the garage just for their customers. Macarons were delicious! My favorite one is the rose flavor!

Same great taste, new location. I’ve now tried every flavor except the vanilla, and my staple favorites are still Earl Grey, Salted Caramel, and Lemon (dat seasonal Irish Cream tho… please come back). The employees here are just as friendly. Smaller shop, but it’s a grab and go for me anyway. I’m giving one less star over the OTR locale because I really enjoy being able to see the macaron making with the open kitchen. I realize that’s not really an option here, but it just gives the place that something extra.

So I can honestly say I had never tried a macaron before this week. I have been to the new macaron bar in Hyde park twice this week. These little thing are delicious! It’s hard to describe the texture and flavor but definitely one of a kind! So far I have tried the Passion Fruit, Pistachio, Chocolate, & Rose! I must say pistachio was my favorite. Reminded me a lot of marzipan, which I’ve always loved.
The space is quite small, so it’s more of a stop and pick up shop. They have two little tables to sit, but not somewhere you can chill for a few hours with friends.
The customer service was also awesome! They told us which were the top 6 popular favors and their personal favorites.
Definitely an awesome new addition to the square! If you haven’t tried a macaron before, the macaron bar should be your first!

Grand opening in Hyde Park this weekend! Stopped in for a taste of one and left with 7. Love the fun flavors, colorful beauties, and of course how delicious the sweet treats are too!
The cookie part is a nice almond meringue and the filling is soft and flavorful. The first bite has a slight crunch, which ends with flavor explosion. YUM!
I’m enjoying the earl grey (surprisingly delicious!), pistachio, rose, blackcurrant, matcha, and I haven’t gotten to the others yet but I expect them to be delicious too.
Next time I stop in I’m definitely trying the gelato filled pistachio macaron. I imagine it’s heavenly!

The Macaron Bar in Hyde Park just opened and it is so cute! It’s significantly smaller than the one in OTR, but that just makes it more charming. FYI there’s only 5 seats, two inside and three outside. I have a feeling most people will end up coming here for macarons to go, which is a great gift idea (hint hint my birthday is coming up…)
They have all the usual interesting flavors. I would especially recommend the pistachio (that’s my fave). The macarons are all made fresh daily. Each macaron is $ 2, but for $ 5 you can get a macaron gelato ice cream sandwich (macaron + gelato, oh my!) They are partnering with Dojo Gelato (a Findlay market staple) to make these delicious ice cream sandwiches. We tried the pistachio one and I almost went back for another it was so good! This store also offers pour over coffee just like the one in OTR.
Macaron Bar is a welcome addition to Hyde Park! I can’t wait to come here regularly for a special treat!
