Monro Muffler Brake & Service

I called several places for pricing on my rear pads, rotors, and calipers. When I finally called Larry at Monro, he promised to match any written estimate by 10%. BEWARE: this statement is only valid if the estimate is given by a «competitor,» AKA an auto repair chain. Larry was unable to keep his promise because my estimate was from a local business. I was very frustrated because I went out of my way to get my car there.
Having said that, Larry came back with a price that I deemed fair (included warranties that other repair shops don’t offer).
Overall, I was happy with the outcome, but it definitely took some time and negotiating to reach a fair price. If you want good parts with good service, Monro is the place for you. I really just care about a low price, personally. In the future, I’ll probably take my car to Auto Works Ltd, who estimated a fair price right away.

Monro has made some rookie mistakes on my car. to a point where a REAL mechanic asked: «did you do this your self?» I replied No. Monro downtown did. he was shocked. They over charged me for shoddy service. HOWEVER. this was 5 years ago. I hope they are doing better now.

I hate getting my oil changed. I despise sitting in a loud waiting room, dreading that my car is going to need some ungodly expensive repair that the mechanics are going to try to talk me into because I’m a girl. But after visiting this Monro location, the whole process has become much less painful.
If you work downtown this place is perfect. Drop your car off in the morning, walk to work, and pick it up at the end of your work day. Their prices are reasonable, and I was freely offered coupons that lowered the price further. My service was completed as requested without any pressure for additional services. However, I was unexpectedly given a free report on the condition of my brake pads and tire treads. The last car place that I visited loyally for years never did this, and it ultimately resulted in a very expensive repair to my front brakes that could have been avoided.
There are very few big chain stores I will throw my support to, but the manager of this store is running a five star business. Highly recommended to people who live or work downtown.

How has no one written a review of these guys? They are great. As a young woman, it’s especially hard to find good, honest car guys. This is the only place I’ll take my car for service. Their prices are fair and they do good work. They’re always busy, which means it can take a bit of time (even with an appointment), but the quality and integrity means they still get five stars from me.
I live downtown and discovered a flat tire as I was headed out for work, a quick call to my car guys and Matt was ready to go pit-​crew style when I pulled in five minutes later. He had my spare on in about ten minutes and I was back on my way. I told him I’d be back the next morning for new tires and he waved me off with a smile insisting that I couldn’t pay him for getting the spare put on. Classy guys!
